Following the explosive texts from Fox News hosts revealed in February as part of Dominion Voting System’s defamation lawsuit against the network, Hasan Minhaj is still a bit gobsmacked. On Tuesday night, the “Daily Show” guest host joked that, in reality, it seems Fox personalities are more like those on MSNBC.
A quick refresher on those messages: in a court filing on Thursday, February 16, Dominion Voting provided texts, emails and other forms of communication between Fox News hosts from after the 2020 election, in which they called out some of the network’s guests for perpetuating unsupported claims that voting was electronically rigged against twice-impeached former president Donald Trump.
Among the messages were ones that said things like “Sidney Powell is lying,” sent from Tucker Carlson to his producer Alex Pfeiffer on Nov. 16, less than two weeks after the election, and “Sidney Powell is a bit nuts. Sorry but she is,...

Fox News executives and hosts including Tucker Carlson, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham did not believe Donald Trump’s election fraud claims in the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election, but the network nevertheless amplified the conspiracy theories as it worried about losing viewers to Newsmax, according to filings from Dominion Voting Systems made public Thursday.
In its motion for summary judgment in its 1.6 billion defamation suit against Fox, with a redacted version made public Thursday (read it here), Dominion makes heavy use of text messages and emails from the Fox personalities and staff to contend that the network was well aware that claims made by guests such as Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani were bogus.
“Really crazy stuff,” Rupert Murdoch wrote in a November 19 text about Giuliani, according to the filing.
Dominion’s lawsuit is over claims, made on air by Powell, Giuliani and others, and then advanced by Fox News figures like Lou Dobbs,...

Update: Video of the event has emerged, so you can watch that at the very bottom of this post.
Yesterday, Disney and Lucasfilm held a press junket for Star Wars: The Force Awakens in Los Angeles. I was lucky enough to attend the event, which was moderated by J.J. Abrams' friend Mindy Kaling, and I transcribed all of the important bits of information that were revealed. I've written about a couple of them this morning already, but this article is going to include a bulk of the conversation from panelists Abrams, writer Lawrence Kasdan, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy, and actors Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong'o, and Adam Driver.
First up, I'll single out a few little tidbits about the movie you might be interested in knowing about. Abrams said there is Not a post-credits scene on this film, and there...

Look out, Vanessa. Things are about to get dicey for you on Hellcats.
Camille Sullivan has landed a recurring role on The CW series, as she'll come on board the 19th episode of the season as Red's ex-wife, Emily. What does this have to do with Vanessa?
Sullivan's character blames the Hellcats coach for the dissolution of her marriage. As an important player at Lancer University, Emily will show up with one thing on her mind: payback.
Sullivan most recently recurred on the Canadian TV show Shattered.

Step away Uncle Sam, because Canada is gradually becoming more and more aggressive as a cultural exporter! In fact, Rookie Blue and Shattered, two Canadian procedural scripted dramas, is coming to the UK.
First of all, according to Blogomatic3000, the UK's Hallmark Channel will be rebranded as the Universal Channel on October 18th. Besides, in order to celebrate this makeover, the newly born Universal Channel will organize the British premiere of two Canadian TV series that are broadcasted on Global, a Canadian TV network.

The first show will be Rookie Blue. In this show created by Tassie Cameron, Morwyn Brebner and Ellen Vanstone, we follow five rookies (Missy Peregrym, Enuka Okuma, Gregory Smith, Travis Milne and Charlotte Sullivan) of some unidentified Canadian (in this case Toronto) that epically fails to pass off as an American city.
