Overall, the show doesn't disappoint. The costumes were definitely much better as compared to the previous years. It brings the show a more matured theme and feel. I can actually see women rather than girls walking the runway (in this case stage). The models themselves looked fabulous as usual, more feminine than "wild" styles of the previous years. Quick update for those who didn't already know, Izabel Goulart is no longer an Angel. Apparently she broke off her contract with VS for AX, although she did strut down the catwalk this year.

A few new faces worthy of mention would be Maryna Linchuk, Carmen Kass, Emanuela de Paula and Arlenis Sosa Peña. Natasha Poly didn't make an appearance this year, but old favourites like Ana Beatriz Barros, Flavia d'Oliveira and Doutzen Kroes (the newest Angel) were magically revived to do their thing on the runway.

The show kicked off with the Glamour Goddesses segment, with Usher performing 'What's your name?' and 'Yeah'. Adrianna Lima kicked start the show, and Selita Ebanks looked really stunning in her costume with her arms as wings. While Adrianna didn't get her wish to open Justin Timberlake's performance for the 2006's show, she did get a chance to end the first segment with her and Usher walking off hand in hand.

The second segment was titled Dangerous, with live performance by Jorge Moreno. Black is the colour theme for this. Marisa Miller opened this segment, and worthy of note is Angela Lindvall and Ana Beatriz Barros. I'm not sure if it's just me, but Lara Stone doesn't seem too happy on the runway.

The third segment is titled 'The Mordern' to The Killer's Human. This is my favourite segment: good music to go along with models walking the stage. Arlenis Sosa Peña's only appearance in the 2008 show is in this segment, so do keep a lookout for her. She doesn't disappoint.

Fourth segment: Pink Planet to The Tings Tings's That's Not My Name. I can't find a definite phrase to describe this year's Pink Segment, so I'll just put it as '18'. This segment takes a break from the matured and glamour theme set for 2008 and returned back to the set of 2007. Deja Vu kinda set in for me a little, as this year's Pink segment seems to be part 2 of last year's. Still, watch out for Rosie Huntington. She would be the perfect model for VS to sign up next. She has the I'm-not-matured-but-I'm-not-grown-up-look. Perfect for any segment of VS. Also, seeing Karolina acting funky and singing backstage was kinda hilarious too.

The Fifth segment, aptly titled Ballet De Fleurs to Chris Brown's With You. After the mordern, this segment is my favourite. One can really feel the "love" the way this segment was presented. Noteworthy: keep a lookout for Miranda Kerr's butterfly costume. It took my breathe away the first time I saw it.

Finally, to Kayne West's Love Lockdown is the final segment Black Tie Holiday. Adrianna is the million dollar babe this year (5 million to be exact), but VS departed from the usual tradition of the million dollar babe opening the final segment, and the honour went to Selita Ebanks instead. I find it rather confusing and conflicting that Doutzen and Heidi was in red outfit for this segment. Heidi Klum closed the show with ribbons for wings. The finale walk was to the beat of Robbie William's Let Me Entertain You and fireworks.

The music, which had me watching VS for the past 3 years, was a rather huge disappointment. No remixes, not even to The Killer's song Human, so the vote of 7 of 10. While I have to agree that the fifth segment was perfect, I miss the good old days of 2005 and 2006 show. The music compliments the model's walk, which in turn compliments the costumes. So for 2009's show, more remixes please! The little snippets in between segment was also interesting. Who is Victoria in Victoria's Secret? What goes on in the morning and afternoon of the day of the show? What rituals do the models do before walking the runway? How do you pick up a model? How are the costumes created? All these questions shall be answered when you watch Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2008!
