The film is a comedy and far from a horror film. Gary (Lucas Millhouse-writer, director) and Dustin (J. R. Timothy) are roommates and best friends who work together at a coffee shop. While walking their dog (only film appearance) Dustin is bit by a radioactive chihuahua. This has the effect of turning him into a werehuahua during any moon and not just a full moon. He kills 8 locals. The production also includes a vampire (Bakir Mehinovic) Van Helsing (Todd Michael Thompson), Lizzy P. (Brittany Shamy) a librarian (Talitha Hanks and not Bob Newhart) and a silent roommate (Bryson Ross Dumas) whose name could be Bob.
The plot is silly like all of Lucas Millhouse productions, but also clever. There are a number of film homage scenes which "the book" mentions to watch for. There is the chipper scene from "Fargo"; the hose cleaning scene from "Pulp Fiction"; the blood scene from "Carrie" and there were a number of them which I knew were from films, but couldn't put my finger on them. Millhouse also plugs his own film "Pegasus Hunter" as they watch the film in a cinema and have trouble staying awake. For my generation "Full Moon High" will be the top werewolf comedy, but this one was a worthy effort.
Guide: No swearing, sex, or nudity.
