  Sinestro : I was never one of you. I have always stood alone above the rabble. Are you that desperate to prove what a great hero you are?

  Guy Gardner : It ain't about me. It's about Mogo. And G'nort. And Earth!

• Guy Gardner : What are you doing here? You're supposed to be protecting the Earth.

  Sinestro : That's exactly what I'm doing. I have no intention of allowing Despero to take control of the universe. And I refuse to leave its fate in the hands of incompetent fools like you and G'nort. That's why I'm gonna blow Mogo to bits.

  Guy Gardner : Mogo? He's a living being, a Green Lantern. Well, what about G'nort? If Mogo blows, then that dumb mutt's finished, too.

  Sinestro : Extraordinary. The troglodyte actually has feelings.

  Guy Gardner : Hey, look, Sin, I get it. Desperate times, desperate measures. But all we gotta do to take down Despero is let G'nort do his job.

  Sinestro : [conjuring a giant fist, with which he punches Guy]  Why does that not fill me with confidence?

• Guy Gardner : Well, thanks for stopping by, Bats.

  Batman : I'm coming along. And I get the feeling I'm gonna need more than a batarang against this guy.

  [Batman brings out a Power Ring] 

  Guy Gardner : Hey! No way I'm letting you wear that ring!

  Sinestro : I'm afraid one who's not of the Corp cannot wear the power ring. But that doesn't we can't use our rings to augment you.

  [Sinestro, Guy and G'nort use their Power Rings on Batman and he's fitted with a power suit] 

  Batman : Cool.

• Batman : [to Guy]  We can still stop Despero. But you and G'nort are going to have to follow my orders to the letter.

  Sinestro : We're doomed.

• Sinestro : Something's wrong.

  [Despero vanishes] 

  Sinestro : An illusion. He was never here.

  Despero : Why should I be there when my mind is powerful enough to reach out and do the work for me? While you three have been battling dreams, I draw closer to my goal: the Green Lantern who will be my greatest, my ultimate weapon.

  Batman : I thought you were the only Lanterns left.

  Sinestro : There is one Green Lantern who wasn't on Oa.

  G'nort : Hokey smokes. He's going after Mogo.

  Batman : Mogo?

  Sinestro : Mogo is a living planet. And if Despero has gained control of him... there may be no hope left for any of us.

• G'nort : [the energy in his power ring fails]  I knew I should've charged this sucker.

  Batman : How did he ever get into the Corps?

  Sinestro : An influential uncle pulled a few strings.

  Batman : At least I can count on one man on this team.

• Sinestro : Sinestro, Green Lantern of space sector 1417. Lowest crime rate in the known galaxies.

  Batman : Why are you three locked up in the brig?

  Sinestro : This morning, Gardner had what you humans would call a hissy fit when the cafeteria chef gave him poached eggs instead of scrambled. As for myself, I was on a mission to protect a pacifist world from the Warlords of Okaara. The Guardians accused me of using force after the Okaarans had surrendered.

  Batman : Did you?

  Sinestro : Yes. The Warlords are well-known for striking once their opponent's guard is down. Sometimes we have to bend the rules to protect the innocent. Something you surely understand.

• Sinestro : Your power suit will respond to your will, much as our rings do.

  Batman : Nice. Now let's get moving. We need to make double time.

  Guy Gardner : Wait a minute. Who died and left you in charge?

  Batman : I put myself in charge. Got a problem with that?

  Guy Gardner : Yeah, I do.

  Sinestro : Your poor attitude annoys me.

  Guy Gardner : Oh, you want a piece of me, too?

  Batman : The freedom of the entire universe is on the line. And our first duty is to the innocent people we've sworn to protect and serve.
