Promising but unfulfilled
gregmalone16 February 2021
It appears this show has terminated with 3 episodes. The first 2 episodes were not bad and had a kernal of interesting information. But episode 3 suddenly became a different topic altogether involving drug cartels and so forth. I thought the show had an interesting premise but in the end it lacked technical and scientific detail that I had hoped would be present. I like many were drawn to the show because of the great publicity it got regarding the wall paintings.

Interesting but not fulfill!

Obviously, you should have watched this if you are a history lover. The information was promising and also interesting, but the presentation wasn't good enough. There was a lot of lacking professionalism. And the host Ella-Al-Samahi, I don't know why she acted like this.

There was another docu-series named The Lost Cities of Amazons. That was also good to watch. And well organized than this. But, Information is too much in this Ella's series. This or That, but watch the docu-series if you are a history lover.

Interesting!

This documentary goes a lot of places and gives you a good overview of the early Amazon. It doesn't get into the weeds on anything specific, but that's okay as it doesn't intend to.

Some of the rock paintings are truly unbelievable and really make you think of what a different world the Amazon once was.

Inspiring series for armchair archeologists

Inspired by this series, I will plan some travel into the Amazon regions. Its great insights to the people, history and technology used to resolve the past of human existence. Good story telling and details balance for an armchair archeologist like me.

I especially enjoyed the red painted rock walls deep in the jungle. Also, the validation of the era of the old clay pottery by the expert was a sentimental moment. Also the geometric circles and squares from scans was I curious discovery.

Brazil's amazon looks interesting, but not sure how close I could really get to the actual tribes that were interviewed in the series, but would be fun to try.

If guesses and animations were only facts

VERY......and I mean VERY disappointing. We hear stories about the amazing artifacts they have found and the incredible man-made ditches of spectacular proportion but what we MOSTLY see are modern villages that they say are very similar......how about show us what you found and WE'LL decide if they're similar. Lots and lots of animations and drawings and guess-timations about ancient civilizations but astoundingly little REAL evidence. Frankly I found this to be just ANOTHER of those modern cobbled-together 'documentaries' that, at best, re-hash what we heard years ago and try to bump up the excitement level by unsubstantiated 'educated' guesses and animations of what we would see if only the site were cleared and the trees all gone and the stars aligned perfectly. Unfortunately those events didn't happen when the cameras were there and what we got was DULL....REPETITIVE and oh so old hat. Thanks but no thanks.
