Imitations
The Glenn Miller Modernaires -- the close-harmony group attached to the big band -- perform the title song in this lively soundie.
Soundies were short films, usually about three minutes long, intended to be played on a machine called the Mills Panaram. These devices were placed in bars, night clubs, lounges, and other places where you might find a regular jukebox. For a dime you got not just a song, but a brief film of the performers. From 1940 through 1946, Mills and a few competitors produced more than 2000 of these short films.
It's a lively interaction, which a couple of imitations of other performers, not only Harry James' horn, but of the Inkspots performing "If I Didn't Care."
