For a fan film, this is actually pretty good.
The acting is a weak point, but this doesn't harm the film. There are two things which help. First, because it a Czech film with English (or other) subtitles, the act of reading the subtitles isolates the audience from the vocal delivery of the lines. Second, the cast is very cute, which helps.
The story itself has the right mix of parody, referencing of science-fiction universes, and interesting plot. It doesn't get boring or ridiculous. I would actually like to see it remade with more money. Their website said this took four years, so I guess we probably won't be seeing anything else from this team, which is our loss.
The sets... There's some live action, with some green-screen, and some computer generated space. Despite looking unusual, the feel is like ST:TNG/VOY on a slightly lower budget.
