Warning: Spoilers
Actor Harris Dickinson steps into the director's chair for the BBC funded short film 2003.

The year in question brings to attention, the invasion of Iraq.

Jamie (Patrick Gibson) is seen partying in the opening shot. When he gets home Jamie has a bit of a fracas with his drunken dad, Phil (Andrew Tiernan.)

Jamie calls his dad an idiot before he storms off. Jamie is a soldier who is about to go to war.

Phil likes a drink and may lose his son for good.

This low budget short was shot in 16mm film stock. It gives it a grainy look, suitable for a film set 20 years earlier.

The crux of the film is that Phil decides to give up drinking. Something he tells his son as Jamie waits for the train to arrive.

Director Harris Dickinson had the idea of the film mulling inside his head for several years. It took a while to get the funding. It is a small scale character piece.

It was nicely shot but to me, it did not amount to much.
