Beautiful and cute...

A meticulous clerk for a bookstore that has just been shuttered suddenly finds herself taking care of her cousin's witty 11-year-old daughter. A clerk at a bookstore that just closed suddenly finds herself babysitting her cousin's spirited 11-year-old daughter.

Those very silly and cute movies, about family, disagreements, encounters, loves and heartbreaks, I'm suspicious of being in love with Nollywood, a simple romantic comedy with a dash of drama, and when it comes to children's drama it's never a pinch, right, they exaggerated by leaving a stranger to take care of an 11-year-old girl, here in Brazil, unthinkable... Beautiful and cute...

A modern RomCom with a great African twist.
p.newhouse@talk21.com13 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
A modern, realistic RomCom, with the central trio perfectly cast (Stycie Waweru with that sullen, baleful teenager stare!). For a westerner like me, this film shows a side of Africa that contrasts to the media reports we see, and shows Kenya to be a vibrant, modern, country, with all the modern day concerns we all share. The trio of characters at the centre of the story are struggling to establish themselves in the ever changing world, with each trying to cling to the old order, instead of embracing the chance to build their new order themselves. As their understanding of the opportunities around them awakens, so do their hearts. This is a light look at life, that also manages to be accepting of differences, be they to do with ability, culture, etc.

Loved this movie!

I loved this movie! It warmed my heart which is something I desperately needed during this challenging time.

Was a delight to see an all Afrikan/Black cast in a movie that was all about love and supporting one another.

Though there were some lows and some challenges, at least it was not the major theme of the film and it had a happy ending, which is so rare in movies made in amerika with an all Black cast, as the west loves to focus on stories that are all about Black struggle, suffering, and pain.

Thank goddess for Afrikan movies where we can tell our own stories in culturally appropriate ways.

Lastly, I loved the mostly Afrikan clothing the actors wore. Just beautiful!!!!!

Best Movie I've Seen This Year
davidkwilliams-3005631 December 2022
This movie is wonderful and grabs your attention from beginning to end and can be enjoyed by the entire family. Having a movie tell a story so well that you become so totally engrossed in it is quite rare and unusual. Throughout the film, one can almost feel what each character is experiencing emotionally and we hope it will soon be available for sale so that we can purchase a copy to see it again now that it is leaving netflix. The entire cast is great and the little girl is especially wonderful and I hope to see her in many more films.

We thoroughly enjoyed this movie and look forward to being able to purchase it and watching it again and again.
