THE LEGEND OF RAYMOND REDDINGTON.

At last, the writers and producers came to work

The episode reminds me of the 1st season, yes it could be even better, it's still not exactly it but it is moving in the right direction.
It is by far the best episode I recall in the last few years, this is how the series should be - a smart thriller.

Elizabeth who?

Excellent episode, showing MR. Spader at his masterful best. Unfortunately it also clearly demonstrated how much Elizabeth's character, as well as her unresolved issues are of little dramatic interest to this story. Much like the unanswered questions about Mulder's past on the X files that just dragged on way too long and well beyond the point of dramatic interest or impact. I have no idea what the showrunnrers have planned for Liz or what startling reveal they may share with us. The problem is, at this point,I don't care anymore.
The badass Reddington is back!!!!

Probably the best episode of this season so far after of many. The badass Reddington is here. The most BADASSS in the whole series. Oh man the last scene in the plane is just too damn satisfying after so many cringe sh**s.
Best of the season

Spader's acting was phenomenal.

Warning: Spoilers
The story is developing, and that is very much appreciated but it was so great to see Spader given a wider array of emotions to work with this week. He was calm, manipulative, a bit maniacal on the phone with Park, and downright chilling at the end. It's a blast to watch him. As for Rakitin, that little pest is no more. This episode did feel closer to "The Blacklist" I know and love, but something was still off, and no, it's not Liz's continued absence. I get the feeling maybe we're supposed to be turning against Red, or at least more sympathetic towards Liz's endeavor but it's not working. Having the taskforce borderline pledge allegiance to Liz after the offscreen stunts she's pulled feels like a disservice to their chracters. And Ressler has had a way to get in touch with Liz this entire time? Give me a break, they've really dumbed him down and made him a super sap for her. So that stuff is frustrating, but the Red stuff is insanely compelling. Excellent work by the cast.
One of the best episodes of the whole series

I think writers are finally getting back on the way that fans expect from a powerful show like the blacklist.
I feel like Red is really doing all these things just for keeping Liz safe and keep away her from some extremely dangerous enemies that she even doesn't know their existence , I just wish that in the end she finally understands that.

Great Acting BUT

Yes superb acting from James Spader, but the whole episode was stupid, is Agent Cooper meant to be stupid? So Reddington has to tell him, that it has to be one of his agents that killed the spy, Seriously !!, who else could it be ?
This series reminds me of so many like Lost, Walking Dead, etc.
The ending will be so disappointing, This series should have ended by now, I mean WTF is Red? He has more lives then 2 cats, more power then anyone, he has no army just 2 people.
I hope when he said the End is close, he means it.

Episode 12: Yes, probably the best of the season so far with the presence of the powerhouse that James Spader is, bringing to life the character of Ray Reddington awesomely, believably and super-charismatically.
The little "worm" in the end, squirming under Red's thunderous hit! So much power and character in this man.

Good episode!

I think captain Kidd was a little stronger but this episode is the second best this season in my opinion. I think some of the structure of the episode seemed a bit unorganised at times - and the ending despite the great track had no impact, seeing Liz's face, or seeing her tap Ressler from behind would have made it more powerful.
James Spader did a good job (as always) in this episode! They gave him a lot of light - I also like the man from the east - good acting and very good scenes.

By far the best episode of the season

I thought it was the best episode of the season. Got a glimpse of the power house Reddington was when the series started. Im glad to have Keen gone. Cooper is getting old, he sides with the law, then values then his own rules when he feels like it. Like a flopping fish.
Reddington

Much better

At last, a better script.
I can't say that I understand all the under-story, but that's actually a mark of a good write - keep the audience guessing for a while!
I had hoped that Keen is finally written out of The Blacklist, but i have a very strong suspicion that she will be back before the end of this series. I wonder what kept Megan Boone away for so many weeks? My guess is ................

Getting back to the basics of what made this series so interesting. Please keep at it!
AND...without Megan Boone's (Elizabeth) horrible acting, its even better. Personally, I hope she doesn't return at all. Except maybe to get killed :)

Strong Look at the Innerworkings of Reddington
Hitchcoc10 December 2022
Rakitin is a loose cannon. He has no business doing what he does. He is not strong enough. So when he's captured, it takes very little to get him to betray himself and his bosses. Meanwhile, Reddington is meeting with the Russians. He is tired of Harold's stupid ego and knows he can blow the whole thing. Red actually saves Harold's life after he has been kidnapped and tortured. He is close to breathing his last when forces are brought in. Red uses a dangerous man who can use weapons that are not obvious. When a letter is given to Rakitin in the Post Office, he is duped. One can only wonder what would have happened if similar tactics had been used early on.
