This is fire!

So far Chucky's first episode was a mixed bag, episode 2 was a small upgrade and episode 3 is absolutely the best one so far! From Chucky's very creepy backstory, to the unsettling Lexi vs Jake storyline. This episode had IT ALL!!! The chucky franchise is back and it's here to stay!

The Plot Thickens!

Warning: Spoilers
From what we see from the flashbacks is that on a Halloween Night. Charles was trick-or-treating, eventually when he got back home. This wasn't like any candy to take a bite out of, but it was an apple with a razor blade making his mouth bleed, and he just laughs... One night, an intruder breaks into the Ray house, stabbing the father to death as Charles watch, but his mom pulls him away to hide in a closet. The intruder checks the whole house and hears a sudden noise coming from the closet only to find out that Charles stabbed his mother to death to "help" him. The intruder teaches him how to cover his tracks. Not going to lie. But, I thought Charles was going to kill that intruder, lol.

I always think that end scene in Episode 2 where Jake Wheeler sees Lexy portrayed as his dead dad, and he makes a face. That do be giving me some vibes of Bully Maguire. Episode 3 is so far my favorite, and we finally get to see Chucky starting a firey rampage in Lexy's house. The scenes between Caroline and Chucky were nice. Meanwhile, Lexy gets creeped tf out. We all know that Chucky loves kids. I am still not sure if Chucky actually killed Lexy in the end, but we can hope that he did. Because Lexy is a b**** for being an azzhole, smoking, and making fun of Jake Wheeler's dead dad. Not cool, man. That moment when the fire starts coming down the stairs was cool. I like how the producers perfectly cast teenagers portraying as 14-year-olds instead of casting 24-year-olds.

9/10.

I put all my life problems aside and wait for Jake and Davon to confess their love.

By the way, it's like Zachary and Bjorgvin were made for each other.

A Sleepover with Chucky

Warning: Spoilers
I know this is only the third episode, but this is the best episode so far.

Thanks to Lexy's little sister, we got more fun with Chucky trying to kill Lexy in this episode. Chucky messing with Lexy, and trying to kill her has been one of the best things of the series so far. I also have loved the scenes with Chucky and Lexy's little sister, Caroline.

The other thing I've liked about the series is the flashbacks of Chucky as a kid. In this episode Chucky tells Jake about his first kill. I was not that surprised about who he killed, but I was surprised when/how he killed the person.

The only other thing I can say is, after watching this episode, I can't wait for the next one.

Love this episode, really, the last scene where chucky is laughing and the song is playing connecting with the outro is wonderful, and the shot in black and white of the the killer of 1965, very amazing, love this episode.

This episode is terrific from beginning to end. Nothing is normal and make a sense and Chucky is here to show people what he is made of. We are also seeing a lot of Charles Lee Ray past now. And it makes perfect sense. Kudos to creators and director for making such a great tv series.

Chucky is building slowly but nicely!

Warning: Spoilers
No one knows 'Chucky' better than Don Mancini, his creator. Tonight's episode proved that more than ever with how he starts to fill in the backstory of little monster Charles Lee Ray, who, judging, by what he did to his mother, showed he had the killer instinct all along and needing no coaxing from anyone. Scary! Episode lost me in the beginning when Lexy and Junior were dressed exactly, alike but we're led to think they were both out jogging at the same exact time? That whole subtext was a little far-fetched but the climax more than made up for any plot flaws at the start. What's gonna happen to Lexy after the silent rave? Can't wait to see how the next episode 'Just Let Go' explains it.....ageless Brad Dourif's still got that maniacal laugh and the only one who can still play Chucky to the hilt!!!

I came for Chucky and I got Chucky plus some extras

Chucky is one hell of a character. One of the charms of the 90´s movies was to wait and see what did Chucky had to say about any particular situation. This is like that but with steroids.

The main character is a good actor. I normally don´t see "teen" series, but he is really good.

I really loved the first 2 episodes but
vassiliskounelis11 November 2021
I really loved the first 2 episodes but the 3rd one focus in other subjects. They focus too much on the story of the characters and its kinda weird to watch it because they are children and its not so interesting.

Chucky didn't had enough screen time on this episode.

CHEER! - (8 stars out of 10)

The stage curtains open ...

"I helped!"

We received our first memorable line in this 3rd episode. I don't wanna spoil it for you, but "I helped!" was the perfect line of dialogue at the perfect time. I just finished Episode 3, "I Like To Be Hugged", and I am 100% invested now. This, so far, has been the best one - they are getting better as they progress. When I see good ratings for a TV show based off of a popular movie, or chain of movies, I usually think it is due to sentimental value. Not so the case here. These high ratings are deserved and well warranted.

In this episode, Junior confronts Lexy and tells her that she should apologize to Jake for what she did at the costume party, because it was also his Uncle she made fun of in such a morbid way. She only does so, because her little sister is crying to have Chucky. She apologizes, but then asks Jake if he'd give Chucky to her so her little sister will be happy again. Afraid to try and kill Lexy himself, Jake eventually agrees knowing that while Chucky is in the house, he will do his dirty work for him - leading us to an explosive ending.

This was a lot of fun. I especially enjoyed how the story of young Charles Lee Ray was interwoven into the story in a series of pertinent flashbacks when Jakes asks him what made him into a killer. The visuals in this episode were stellar, especially with the use of fire. More bodies are piling up, and other victims are waiting their turn. Who will be next?

I highly recommend this episode at a very strong 8 stars out of 10. Pairing Chucky up with the little girl, Caroline, brought back flashes from the original "Child's Play" movie when he was with Andy Barclay. The story continues in the next episode and I can't wait to see what is waiting for me!

I Like to Be Hugged

If the previous episode ended with Jake contemplating becoming a killer.

This episode held back on that. It is never going to be a long form series with a maniacal teenage killer on the loose. Especially one where the police already are suspicious of.

Instead Chucky realises that if a dirty job needs doing, then do it yourself.

With Lexy's sister Caroline wanting the Chucky doll. It is his way to get inside the house and get a blade inside Lexy. Unsurprisingly bumping off Lexy is no easy task when she throws a party as her parents are away at the theatre.

The big surprise was the flashbacks to Charles Lee Ray's childhood. Talk about getting framed.

Good

The plot of the 3rd episode was interesting and nice. Chucky was so active on that episode and he was so funny, as always. Also, there were many flashbacks about Chucky's previous life, they were very important and interesting, I really liked them. The kill of the 3rd episode was kinda basic and boring, nothing wow or innovative. The ending scene was so intense and Chucky was so creepy and ruthless. Gladly, the TV show isn't only about the kills and Chucky, but we have the chance to watch the interaction between the characters and the drama between them.

Disappointed

Warning: Spoilers
The episode started out so good. I was so hyped! And it led to a huge disappointment. Lexy didn't get killed and Chucky's backstory reveal didn't meet expectations. This is the worst episode yet, but I'll still keep watching to see how things end up.

3rd Amazing Episode [9/10]
panagiotis19937 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
My Reaction / Review for Chucky Season 1 Episode 3: Episode 2 was great and I gave it a rating of 8.6/10. The previous two episodes were amazing, I hope this one is too. I will never get bored of hearing Chucky talking. I think having flashbacks with young Chucky is cool. So Chucky has been evil since childhood. It seems like the detective is getting closer to the truth, that's not good. Lexy is a classic spoiled rich kid. Its official, Jake and Chucky are working together, I love it. Chucky will now have the chance to kill Lexy, cant wait. So Lexy dresses up like Jake's dad and makes fun of his death and she doesn't even get punished? Come on... Love the relationship between Chucky and Caroline, so cute. So Chucky ends up killing that other kid, come on, he didn't do anything wrong. Get her Chucky, get her! What an amazing episode, my rating is 9/10.

13 or 14 years old going on 25
BriannaHyche25 May 2022
Who wrote this???? You can tell that it was someone who's in their 30s, 40s or 50s and completely out of touch with today's kids. These are the grownest 8th graders I have ever seen. They're hooking up, drinking, smoking, and partying. And their parents are just allowing it!!!! This is completely unrealistic. This is not as common for a 13 or 14 year old to do as they are making it seem. It's just so silly. It should have been focused on high school students.

None of these reviews are real

Ignoring the fact that the show itself is incredibly boring, ask yourself how anybody could sympathize with Jake in this show. He's a literal serial killer wanna-be, but worse because he's a coward who needs other people to do the dirty work.

I feel like I am missing a joke in the reviews

Warning: Spoilers
This was by far the most cringe worthy horrible episode I have seen. This episode was poorly acted, poorly written, puppeted poorly, and made no sense. How can chucky over power a teenage girl and boy yet not get out of a trucked in blanket. The scene in the kitchen where he is running was so poorly made. I literally made an account to point out how bad this episode was. There was absolutely nothing that saved this episode and it made me completely lose interest.
