I do enjoy SNL once in a while. Having comedians like Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr, Chris Rock and others this season. Some who are non comedic actors, did an ok job this season. With Elon, I have nothing against what he does, in fact, I admire his innovation and vission but we are not talking bout that. The jokes seems dragged out and isn't that funny with Elon trying out different accents and trying to hard to sell a crypto, getting his mom to do it too. Miley Cyrus's performance wasn't that great either. Giving it a 4, is the right kind of rating, keeping in mind that he is not an actor.

Boring host - Terrible skits - Great weekend update

This was a successful stunt to generate interest in SNL but the host was awful and ill suited for the show. The skits were terrible with cousin jokes done repeatedly and kept falling flat. However the weekend update was awesome.

Miley was funny but I think what made this episode crash and burn was Elon himself. There was some okay bits but the main hellholes were the Wario skit and the Gen Z skit. The Wario sketch looks like a discount Dorkly video and the Gen Z Hospital sketch is just plain tasteless. Most of the Gen Z "slang" used in it is AAVE and feels weird to hear all these "comedians" take a backseat.
Elon was an okay host and the other skits were mediocre at best, but I can't take it. Lorne needs to get his crap together.
Weekend Update was fine, though.

Granted, Elon was not good, but he wasn't the worst part of this episode. Everything was horrible, except for a couple of points in Weekend Update. As another revierwer said, I don't think I laughed at all during this episode because there was nothing funny.. From the clumsy humorless opening to the dreadful las skit, it was just bad.

A lot of folks leaving 1 Stars did so in their hatred for Musk. The show wasn't as bad as the rating and some skits were funny including Musk's attempt at acting. Lol He actually did pretty good with the materials he had written for him.

Elon Musk's episode was in shambles from his monologue, which was plain unfunny and utilized the declaration that he had Asperger's as a distraction from his Covid denying and human rights violations. The first sketch (which mocked and rebranded AAVE, the Black American dialect, as "Gen-Z language"), to the last (which featured a surprise, but not unexpected cameo from Grimes) were cringe-worthy and unworthy of the SNL stage. In all fairness, Weekend Update was funny and I'd recommend a watch, Weekend Update being the only, no matter the host, SNL consistency for the past season. Miley Cyrus was what made the episode salvageable: her cold open was gorgeous, as were her performances. So was the episode terrible? Yes. But I'd encourage audiences to exclude Miley from Elon's travesties.

Cold open was very very good with a tribute to Mom's on Mothers Day. The show stayed very upbeat from there and you can see Mr Musk loosen up as the night progressed.
The Mars Crew skit was one of the best in years though it was pretaped.
So there were many one Star ratings posted last night before the show had aired for one second! I posted my rating during the final skit.
Just wished that there had been a Burning Man skit since Elon has attended it many many times.

One of the best episodes in decade! Really thought everyone stepped up to the plate knowing this would be the most watch episode of all time. Its pretty incredible seeing the richest man in the world be totally shameless and have a good time in front of millions of eyes. Also him mentioning he's the first person to host with aspergers is so huge for the aspergers community.

Elon Musk is odd, funny, charming and highly highly watchable. The writing was excellent. The whole tone of the whole show was positive and delightful in a way I think I have never experienced SNL before. One of the best ever in the Chad series. Everything just worked.

Yes there was bad press before this show aired and I almost didn't watch it. That said, I am so glad I watched! This ep was a breathe of fresh air and Elon addressed the negative press flawlessly in his monologue. The other great thing about this episode is that finally, FINALLY, SNL left behind some of the previous years' redundant, stale skits for new ideas. I was about to drop SNL due to the dull, redundant weekly format: talk &/or game shows + hip hop videos + weekend update + musical guest and you're done. Y A W N. This ep broke the tired mold and actually threw in some zany, fresh stuff. Keep up the good work SNL: as long as you keep it fresh like this ep, I'm in.

Elon Musk did a great job, a lot better than I thought he would given that he's not an entertainer. I thought he did a great job, you could tell he was enjoying himself and was able to make fun of himself. Yeah he was a bit awkward, but he explained that in the monologue, he has asperger's and has trouble looking people in the eye, but he did his best and I thought it made him more personable.
People hating on him, or downvoting this episode aren't doing so because of the content of the episode, it doesn't even sound like half of them actually watched the episode.
This cast is fantastic, this season overall has been great and Elon did a great job hosting.

Overall I thought it was an okay episode, it wasn't great nor bad. I don't particularly think Elon musk did a good job. He had I little bit of trouble with his delivery and his characters weren't very funny. I did really enjoy a few of the sketches especially the Post-Quarantine Conversation and Murdur Durdur sketch.

Since 1975, I believe I've only missed 3 SNLs, for reasons I wish not to discuss. This may just have single handedly been the best episode that has ever graced the air. Elon musk is unlike anyone they've ever had host it. I'll live and die by this show, and Elon as well.

This episode was neither extraordinarily good nor extraordinarily bad. Many of the reviews here seem to be reactions to Elon Musk and not the episode or Musk's performance in it. For a non-actor, he actually did really well. And reviewers who criticize the so-called AAVE sketch seem to have forgotten that AAVE has been spilling into mainstream vernacular for many generations if not hundreds of years.
