Returning to Casey's hideout, Chris finds her leaving and takes her stash with him, he declines to help her again and decides to put a price on returning the stash to Sweeney, who is working for his doctor, Dianne Gallagher. Sweeney attempts to ease down on his approach to Chris, who refuses to return the stash without payment, which Sweeney can't yet. Chris' mental health deteriorates, growing angry when his unmotivated, overworked therapist doesn't remember his appointment, face or any details. Mullen attempts to persuade Hargreaves to work with him to take down Chris, but after he opens up to her after Mullen returns his drunken wife, she begins to doubt his intentions and whether to help. Chris's wife asks him to leave the house. Chris and Hargreaves respond to a call about young men who supposedly took drugs at a bar, one of which is Hargreaves' boyfriend Steve, so Chris does the headless ingrate a favor by not taking any to prison.
