Sex & Nudity

  • Garfield is often seen cross dressing in some episodes, which is played for laughs.
  • Jon and Liz are officially a couple in this show. They usually have romantic dates.
  • There was a girl cat Garfield presumably dated in the past.

Violence & Gore

  • The main character or other characters can get harmed in comical ways, wether it's getting crushed, or hit with an object, but for the most part, the violence happens off-screen.

Profanity

  • Jon Arbuckle's small twin nieces often call Garfield "Kitty Cat" (referring to a feline), which can be heard as a slang term for a female's genitalia.
  • In one episode Garfield calls Jon a Cad, a term for someone who "doesn't cut it as a gentleman" and is an insult that is generally sexual in origin. In another episode, Garfield calls Nermal a "wiener head" which is of course comparing the cats head to male genitalia which is more commonly known as a penis. To make this insult even more offensive, Nermal's head does bear striking resemblance to said genitalia.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some episodes have horror themes.
  • None in a lot of episodes.
  • Garfield will get himself in horrible situations, but in a comical manner. this is a very clean show, good for kids.
