A Complete Lie
Mustang923 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
What a shame. What a real shame. This little one-hour documentary on the assassination of JFK started out good, but devolved into complete conjecture, and a total disregard of actual facts -- all to support the Warren Commission's "single assassin" sham.

Here's a few things blatantly wrong, and the Discovery Channel that made this faux doc should be ashamed of themselves.

1) They point out and show the 4 locations that a second assassin could have fired on JFK from, and then perhaps reasonably discount 2 of them, given shots would have gone through the windshield, and that didn't happen. The other 2 locations are the northern part of the grassy knoll, and then behind the stockade fence (also on the grassy knoll).

They then set up with car and dummies, and fire on them from ONLY ONE of the 2 grassy knoll locations, the "stockade fence" location. (Not at Dealey Plaza but a remote location, from similar distance and angle.) They show that the way the bullet would have hit JFK, it would have hit Jackie too. OK, that's certainly possible. But then WHY don't they test from the other grassy knoll location?? Which provided an angle such that any shots would not go through the windshield first, and any shots would not also hit Jackie.

Unfortunately, this show and the producers had an agenda, and that agenda was not the truth. To decide to not test from the ONE location they should have, is ludicrous.

That's the biggest problem with this show. But there's more.

2) They then take shots from distance and angle of the Book Depository, and try to match them up with blood splatter from the Zapruder film (at frame 313). But since they say that shot (at frame 313) hit Kennedy in the side of his head, they do NOT address the fact that Kennedy had a huge hole in the back of his head after all shots had been fired. They don't even address this in the show. If he was hit on the side of his head, from the Book Depository as they claim, how did a chunk of the back of Kennedy's head come out? It did NOT on the first shot. We know that, because we can see that didn't happen in the Zapruder film. That chunk comes out after frame 313. Major discrepancy here.

3) They also, with their test shots, attempt to show that the pattern of brain matter splatter in the car matches the eyewitness account of an 18 year old at the time, who apparently saw the inside of the car. WHAT?? You're going to tell me, that 45 years after the fact, some old guy now is going to view a photograph of fake brain matter splatter -- from this show's test shot from the Book Depository -- and that it matches his memory of nearly a half-century ago?? This is ludicrous! Memory is fallible. Even over horrific events. There is enormous memory research that shows that memories not only fade, but also CHANGE over time. Yet this show is going to rest their case on how fake brain matter inside a dummy splatters in a car after being hit by a bullet. A for effort, F for results and conclusion.

4) Lastly, this show NEVER addresses the fact that some of the best sniper experts in the world could not fire 3 accurate shots from the same rifle that Lee Harvey Oswald used, in the time that was necessary to get 3 shots off. And there have been tests for this. No sniper experts could do it, and in fact, no one in the world has ever been able to duplicate what a non-sniper (Oswald) supposedly did. This show refused to even address this fact.

This show was ridiculous, and a total piece of sh*t. Discovery Channel, you should know better.

A flawed failure for obvious reasons...
SunCanyonRoad23 November 2015
I watched this last night and was dumbfounded by how blatantly flawed this "forensics look" at the JFK assassination was. For starters, the person leading the crew of experts is the curator of the 6th Floor Book Depository Museum. Gee, I wonder what story he believes... His job DEPENDS on the single gunman theory! So let's let him organize this. So, they give a lot of technical information, distances, wind speed etc, but all that babble is lost when they mention the downward grade of the road in Dealey Plaza and to "achieve" this scientific match, a couple of grips are filmed rolling a tree log under a plywood mock up of the Presidential Limo! So much for "science" with that. Shove a big fan in front of the mock up, you get wind too. So they put an expert marksman up in a scissor lift and give him ALL DAY to zero in on the mock up (which isn't moving by the way) and he hits the target. Go figure. They also set him up in the approximate location where the grassy knoll was and have him shoot at the target. BAMMO!!! The target's head is annihilated. They then have the audacity to say that no shot could have come from the knoll because of this. THIS IS FLAWED NONSENSE!!! They are assuming (though conveniently not telling the audience) that a grassy knoll gunman is using the SAME high powered assault rifle as a book depository gunman would! You can't make assumptions and then try to sell them as forensic fact which is what they are doing with their "grassy knoll recreation." So, their dummy head is filled with "scientific goo" and they compare the spatter from it, with JFK's actual blood spatter filmed in the Zapruder film. Well to do that and make it "forensic science" you'd have to place the camera in the SAME location and you'd have to use THE SAME TYPE OF CAMERA!!! (which could have been done, since they still exist). But of course, they don't do that but pass their "findings" off as scientific proof. UGH, then they have the audacity to dig up two guys who happened to see the blood stained limo seats at Parkland Hospital and have them look at the "scientific goo" in their mock up. Go figure, someone's memory of a bloodbath matches the "scientific goo bath" in the mock up model... CASE CLOSED. Whatever. Look, the one guy the FBI has singled out as the Knoll shooter and who himself has confessed to it is James Files. This was revealed in the early 2000's, several years before the filming of this documentary. If you want to prove your story then you have to prove him (and the FBI investigator who exposed him) to be liars. To do that, do your forensic recreation from the knoll using the SAME weapon and ammunition. (of course they didn't do this). Look, I'm not saying that James Files is telling the truth, or that Zack Shelton, the FBI investigator who exposed him is telling the truth either, but I mention this "theory' only because they have said the exact weapon and ammo used which can be tested against the single gunman theory. But of course, they did not do this here because they had a predetermined conclusion and they went out of their way to make "their science" fit that conclusion... And lazily cover the possibility of a knoll shooter by annihilating a model of the president's head with a high powered assault rifle and not the reported weapon and ammo used. (which by the way was a Remington Fireball bolt action .22 caliber pistol with a mercury filled hollowed point round) Anyway, it's this type of documentary that you can't take seriously. It "looks" very professional. It "looks" like they're trying to be unbiased. It "looks" like they're exploring other theories but in reality they're not. Watch it and you'll see every point I've made here. In reality it's not scientific at all.

*** 50th anniversary *** If only it had rained this day (tv)
leplatypus22 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This is the only good point of this strange documentary: to say that if the rain had stayed all day, the Lincoln would have had its roof and thus the assassination would have been impossible.

Beyond this, i'm surprised to see that this documentary is the only one research I knew (except the Warren Commission) that demonstrates that the killing shot was not left of JFK at the grassy knoll but behind him in the famous 6th floor of the depository book. In short, it concludes at the opposite of Stone's movie while using the same Zapruder movie (that was kept in Time vault for long years, strange attitude from supposed truth exposing journalists!).

My conclusion is that this documentary belongs to the same disinformation spread by the dark mind behind this assassination. It's revealing to see that in France for this anniversary day, it's the only documentary aired as there is nothing on public TV. Imagine the young generation having only this documentary as reference! As Garrison already said, who would have the power to still perpetrate disinformation 50 years after: Castro? Maffia? Soviets? Or the famous firm...

For those who still have doubts about the conspiracy and believe LHO was indeed a lone gunman, i urge you to read the book from John Newman. It says that the firm was very interested in LHO but that the files were not compiled together but dispatched in a lot of divisions. That way, only the chiefs could have the entire picture. If LHO was (build as?) a communist and nearly a soviet agent, it was the ultimate card to push all American institutions and administrations to conclude to the lone gunman theory (if not, it would have been WWIII and millions of death!). In addition, if LHO's life is completely erratic and doesn't give sense (U2 operator, defector in URSS, back to Dallas, Louisiana and Mexico summer, back to Dallas), the only thing permanent is that he kept stumbling across firm collaborators everywhere! The second news i discovered since my review of "JFK" is that Tippit looks indeed a clone for JFK and that fits with the allegedly second body of JFK!

In all cases, what really happens in Dealey Plaza exactly fifty years ago is still a big black hole! But the sure fact is that this documentary is totally useless for that !
