One of the Best on YouTube
levithepangolinguy16 March 2022
One of the best movie/show reviewers on YouTube. Doesn't really overrate or underrate things too much. Very realistic and grounded in expectations, insightful in criticisms, and helpful in praises. Knows exactly what makes certain things good, bad, or mediocre and knows just how to explain it in an easy to understand, but effective manner.

In memoriam to Patrick Pyrillas and Chris Schaffer.

Warning: Spoilers
When I first saw his videos, I originally did not like him due to his conflicting opinions on animated movies. When he states something that I can agree on (i.e. Spider-Verse being top 10 material, and WALL-E being a universal Pixar masterpiece), there's also the times in which he states something very controversial (i.e. His older Disney ranking videos, and his extremely controversial view on Howl's Moving Castle). However, this all changed after what I have learned about that fatal incident. James Phyrillas had just suffered from a freak car accident that took away the lives of his brother Patrick, and his editor Chris Schaffer. I have never received something so devastating within my whole life. Now, I really regret my past thoughts, and reformed myself into acknowledging him as one of the greatest animation reviewers of all time. Thank you Schaffrillas for everything that you have created, and I hope you make a speedy recovery. Rest in Peace Chris and Patrick.

Sometimes Entertaining, Hurtful Expression Of Some Opinions
linkgamershow16 January 2024
Some of his videos I do like most of which are positive because he does a good job explaining why he likes the movies/games/shows he likes. However one problem I have with him is I really don't like how much he trash talks things he doesn't like especially if I know it has effort put into it. When he talks about something he doesn't like he will bash it like it punched him in the face using words like sucks, awful, terrible etc. But thats not all he also will sometimes insult the people who made the movies/games/shows he doesn't like which I don't think is morally ok. If you are ok with hearing massive trash talking with negative reviews then you might enjoy his negative videos more than me. But otherwise I'd recommend only watching his positive videos that peak your interest because some are pretty good. And Schaffrillas if you somehow come across this review may I recommend only making videos about things you enjoy instead of things you don't because I think in terms of making your videos morally ok its the easiest fix.

Armond White of Youtube
Sk3lebot19 March 2022
There are some videos he makes where he hits right, but other than that I find a lot of his opinions are so unpopular you are better off using this man in a similar fashion to how the legendary Dunkey states Armond White is useful - to quote him, "When Armond White tells you that Man of Steel is the Godfather of superhero films and calls it his movie of the year, then you as a viewer understand, 'Ok. So this is the worst movie yet created'"

When a game or movie transcends Schaff and his take on it is similar to that of many others, that's how you know said game or movie is really good.

But on the flipside, when a movie is so bad that even he doesn't like it, that's how you know it's terrible.

This isn't just me having unpopular opinions. You can find many other takes online and millions of people seem to share a similar opinion that a lot of his takes have been pretty bad.

I won't sign a review score to him because this review is kind of weird, but take my word for this. If he makes a list of what the best movies that came out in a year was, flip the positions of almost every movie and you'll find something more accurate.
