The final segment in this series sees the sitcom, in many cases, as something that soothes the human spirit in times of difficulty. Shows like Newhart come along at times when we are engulfed by sadness. Even a show like Hogan's Heroes is there as we are fighting in Vietnam. Gomer Pyle makes the military out to be not so bad. Not the strongest episode but the conclusion to a good, though flawed, mini-series.
