The one HUGE problem!
Observer-231 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
There's one BIG problem with this episode that I am surprised got past everybody from the writers to the continuity checkers. It didn't hit me until after I watched it, they do such a good job of telling the story. There shouldn't have been a "happy ending." Think about it. The cop collapsed after being discharged while doing the laundry. Presumably there was some time between his collapse and when the building super found him. Then there was some time between the 911 call and the ambulance arrival. He got to the first hospital and was declared DOA. Foreman orders the body back to Princeton-Plainsboro for their autopsy. Cop is still dead. Suddenly comes back to life on the autopsy table. He should have been a brain-dead vegetable at that point due to severe oxygen deprivation, not someone about to get discharged to go watch movies with his kid. So it loses points with me on that score. Otherwise the rest of it works very well and the season bodes well, if they don't keep making major gaffes like this one!

House hallucinating?
ctomvelu120 October 2009
A cop takes a bad fall while pursuing a suspect, and is convinced he will shortly die due to some undiagnosed congenital defect, like his dad and granddad before him. House is still staying with Wilson and begins to hear eerie voices. Is he regressing? Chase is feeling increasingly guilty about the Dibala death. It's a real mess. House gives the fatalistic cop a fake diagnosis and sends him on his way. This proves to be a very big mistake. Oh, and Amber is back! Can't keep a good actress down, I always say! House continues to sport a crew cut, which I guess we will just have to get used to. Foreman takes a backseat in this one, thank heavens!

Darker .... Step by Step ....
simonmichel21 October 2009
This episode is a lot different than the ones before and takes it to a whole new level. It's not so much House's hallucinations, but this episode does a great job of showing us the weight of things. It revolves around death: Chase's remorse, Wilson's dead girlfriend... I think it shows that the season is slowly, reaaaalllly slowly moving into a darker direction. Hugh Laurie's performance is simply breathtaking in every scene, and as it turns out a sane, drug free House, appears to be way darker and human than the cracked up maniac before. Although some events, especially in the beginning of the episode may seem like a jigsaw puzzle hammered together, it all makes sense in the end. Really nice episode.

meeting the expectations...great episode of a great season!
unicursal-hexagram21 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
some people were (justifably) worried about the 6th season of house, picking up as it was at a new unfamiliar starting-point with house's state of mind being more desolate than ever before and remembering a 5th season that had some greatly disappointing episodes not worth of the standards this show normally maintains. well folks, the 6th season (so far) has not only had a great transition from house in the mental institution to house back in the hospital, but actually got better with each successive episode.

this one was no exception to the brilliant episodes so far. the case, though being very interesting, is still background to the personal issues of house/Wilson and cameron/chase. chase is increasingly suffering under his bad conscience about the dibala-case which has an ever more destructive effect on his marriage (jesse spencer is giving here one of his best performances on the show). house is also experiencing unexpected psychological trouble which makes him and the viewer worried a new psychosis might be at hand. what really is going on and how the situation finally turns out throws yet a new light on house's and Wilson's relationship and the episode ends with one of the emotionally most beautiful moments on the show. mixed in is a bit of sexually charged situations with house and cuddy which are just the right amount, not forced or over-emotional, but funny and smart, making the viewer looking forward to more.

all in all, an excellent episode in a so far flawless season. that the 6th season of 'house' can totally live up to the already high expectations is symptomatic for one of the most intelligent and well-crafted shows on TV right now.

Who was that city jumper?
electronic_blade29 October 2009
I don't suppose that anyone might know who the city jumper at the very beginning of this episode was?

I can't seem to discover who the actor (stuntman, since there wasn't much call for 'acting') who was playing him was. No idea if what he was doing was particularly 'impressive' from an enthusiasts point of view, but from the average person, it certainly looked pretty darn amazing, and a great lead-in to the start of the episode with a bit of curiosity about what was going on/who would shortly be the one under House's tender-loving-care!

Any help would be fantastic, thanks!

One of the Best
realtvhrdbfq-123 October 2009
Warning: Spoilers
We House MD fans are really used to "engage" to episodes through great plots, but this episode has the best plot i have ever seen in House. It was like a short movie which includes a lot of action and stimulates adrenaline.

After that, the writers imply that they are going to stick to their plan: House's mental recovery. Actually we thought that when he discharged from the Mayfield, he is OK. But writers didn't prefer to rush the recovery process and in this episode House gets a little bit better and i think writers are on this way for the whole season.

And there is a nostalgia ongoing, we are just like where we left the former subordinates of House, except Cameron and Chase's marriage. Foreman is still annoying, Chase is still not suitable for medicine, Cameron is still "Cameron".

I have seen Lost, Dexter, Heroes, Prison Break and some of these series' episodes really suck, but i cannot show one average episode of House, every single episode of House is really cool and sixth season is getting greater even more than 4th and 5th seasons...

Is House finally in charge again?
riverthor21 October 2009
Is House finally back in charge? Foreman is good as comic relief, but he has no business being put in charge remember he was fired when he tried to go it alone in season 4). He really has't improved as a physician over the last 3 years. Chase has become an excellent surgeon since he left House's group, while Cameron has drifted away into making beds and washing bed pans. Cutty is like a yo-yo, there is no logic in her decisions. I watch House to see Hugh Laurie practice medicine, The pain medicine House takes is relatively mild. If he were taking oxycontin, dilaudid, fentanyl or demoral I could understand all the fuss, but vicodin is considered to be a mild pain reliever. The shows creators and writers should have done some better research before hanging the term addict on House (and wasting 3 seasons on his addiction problem.) Now that House can practice again, I hope he joins the staff of a new hospital - leaving the old gang and their baggage behind - so he can again practice his medical specialty and be the old House again. Or better yet get rid of the hospital staff that is there and bring in some new writers (there are plenty out there now that NBC has killed off 5 hours of drama shows with Leno.
