taylorkingston2 posted some things wrong

Taylorkingston2 stated some things incorrectly.

Santa was not black mailed. It was more of a hostage or kidnapping situation.

Santa was not blown up on purpose.

Discovering the true kidnappers was quite interesting.

The manubrium in the cab driver
HiBonesBooth4 December 2022
Warning: Spoilers
So after abandoning his kids and living on the run for all those years, now Max Keenan is all bummed that Bones is going away and they don't get to spend Christmas together? He is truly the worst.

This case has a pretty good twist-the heel turn from Georgia Hartmeyer is exquisite, if not particularly sensible on her part. And the stuff about the radio host feeling culpable for having put his vitriol out into the world and inspired violence feels pretty prescient now.

Side note: This is not the last time Bones will wear earrings that look like those things full of incense that priests wave around in orthodox churches. Keep an eye out.

They Do a Good Job on Christmas Shows
Hitchcoc6 February 2023
A man in a Santa Claus suit blows up after robbing a bank. The episode shows the squints trying to take fragments and reconstruct who the guy is; and it to show how the bomb was constructed; then to hunt down who was responsible. There are some interesting family things going on here. The most obvious is the appearance of Zooey Deschanel, the little sister of Bones. We have the mother of the victim, alone and suffering. We have a Christmas party that seems headed for the rocks. But, ultimately, we know there will be some happiness and some thoughtfulness. On a side note, I agree with the radio guy. He is simply speaking truth to government. His comment to Booth that the big guy is forgetting about peoples rights is true. Today we have a huge faction of our country who have turned their backs on the Constitution. The business of the frequency is, indeed, a coincidence. Just saying!

The sister in the show
SlutforBones28 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Hi Bonesbooth people

The iconic cameo episode is finally here. Zooey played her role as (the 5th or 7th person named this) Maggie wonderfully. I did think the sisters jokes felt forced but idc it's a Christmas episode so it's good regardless. I feel like this episode shows how much Bones has changed as she starts to realize the importance of her personal relationships. The plot twist was great but my question from the scene of the explosion was why didn't we look at the cab driver sooner? He was probably filled with evidence and I'm surprised it wasn't brought up.

Also 10/10 only for stripped down booth and his panic at bones undressing him.

The One Where Santa Blew Up...
taylorkingston2 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I love this episode. It makes me laugh because of Zooey Deschanel being in it, but it also makes me sad because of the fact that Santa Claus blew up into a million pieces.

In this episode, we see a man dressed up in a Santa Claus suit, rob a bank and then explode. Turns out that he was being blackmailed into robbing the bank, but the mean blackmailer blew him up anyway. Also, the main reason I love this episode, Zooey Deschanel joins her sister Emily in this fun episode. Zooey plays Bones' distant relative, and throughout the entire episode, people compare them to being sisters. A fun little Easter Egg hiding throughout. Not really an Easter Egg, but that's what I'm calling it.

Overall, I give this episode a 10 out of 10.

It didn't take long (yes andrew a lot of listen) Any way i love this episode. Gives a little bit of everything. Good B&B interactions. Love that they had Zoe play the 2nd cousin and love all the you could be sister references and how bones was like No. Love Cam and Michelle and how Cam wanted her home for christmas. Love Daisy and her christmas in March comments. Love that that they all come together at the end as the big family that they are. One of my favorite episodes. Thanks for making the pod. Iconic episode
madysenmor19 November 2022
First we start off with max wanting to spend Christmas with bones and we get to see the evolution of Bones spending time with her family and friends. She finally can understand the reason why people love Christmas so much, "it means people love you". When Santa gets blown up the part where the eye is obliterated is so cringey I love it. Hodgins magnetized gloves is great we see his absolute crazy love for his work again and again. Booths suprise face when bones starts taking off his clothes makes this episode that iconic and him reviewing saints it too funny. The "I'm highly evolved" comment made whne Hodgins asks where's your chest hair is the main thing that sticks out to me every time I rewatch this episode.

Misplaced Ideas
chadwick-8695520 November 2023
This episode is about a Santa Claus "blowing himself up", and about all the sentimentality of Christmas, but in a very forced manner.

I rarely would criticize Cam's character. She is one of the smartest, if not the smartest character, in the series ... and gorgeous. She acts like a self-centered, selfish, mother who only wants to have Christmas with her daughter, no matter what the ramifications are. That is not the idea of Christmas. If my daughter asked me to allow her to enjoy Christmas in her own way, I would allow it ... because I love her, support her, in her way and mine. Cam, when she acts like a mother, is atrocious. There was some episode when she writes the essays for her daughter to get into college. The character, Cam, was not written well with her role as a parent/mother, the character, like in reality, couldn't handle it.

The writers' idea of Christmas was overwhelming. Fortunately, there is more flexibility and genuine thought behind it in real life.

Booth is an ass and condemns a radio operator. Again, the writers just went crazy to state an opinion, but against their usual methods. Bones continues, as always, to not understand American idiomatic expressions, no surprise there.

Max was the smartest character in the episode. He appeared to be one to instill the qualities of Christmas.

The jokes about Zooey looking like Bones' sister was hysterical.

Too much information, as always, that is ridiculous. Someone, perhaps Daisy, mentions that the victim's bones were used as projectiles, after already been stated. Duh.

Not the best episode. The following one, The X in the File, was one of the best.
