- Will competes in the Free-Diving Championships but afterward chooses to break from the sport and shrug off Sophie's influence on his life. Rikki sees Sophie kissing Zane at the event and breaks off their relationship.

'Coach' Sophie and sponsor Zane expect him to be dead-eager, but Bella notices he cares less for winning than for loyalty to his sister. Finally he decides to do it and wins, then refuses to pursue the competitive circuit. Meanwhile Rikki had playful trouble with a dolphin, whose balls she promises Cleo to collect, and coldly dumps Zane.—KGF Vissers
- It's the day of the Gold Coast Free Diving Championship and Will's attempt at setting a new record. Sophie's excited but Will is unfazed. It's very apparent that Sophie's ambitions for Will's success are the main force driving him. Bella quietly encourages Will to find his own reason and to rediscover his attraction to free-diving for the event. But after breaking the record and winning the competition, Will chooses to shrug off his sister's influence in his life and not pursue any further competitions. Finding being around Zane awkward, Rikki reluctantly goes to the Marine Park with Cleo for a change of air. A simple job to assist her brings Rikki to interact with Ronnie the dolphin and brightens her outlook. The girls discretely attend the championship as mermaids to cheer Will on, but when Rikki sees Sophie kissing Zane in the celebrations she breaks off her relationship with Zane permanently.
- Will is getting sick of Sophie's pressuring him into competitive free-diving, but agrees to compete in a competition to set a new depth record. Sophie is delighted with Will's record breaking dive of 80 metres, but after the competition, Will gives up competitive free-diving to shrug off Sophie's influence. As Will sets his record, however, Rikki witnesses Sophie and Zane kissing, and her relationship with Zane is ended.
