- The girls sit their final school exams and have to avoid a water attack in public when the full moon rises early. They confront the water force in the Moon Pool and are given a message about Mako Island.
- The next full moon is at exam time. Rikki doesn't concentrate on study, wondering only about the cave and crystals, unlike Cleo, whose concentration breaks down when she realizes the moon phase requires the mermaids to hand in their papers five minutes early. The tentacle makes its way to the mermaids earlier than expected, unstoppably, causing weird phenomena. Will has to overthrow the water cooler so the physics exam is cancelled and rescheduled for the next day. Meanwhile in the cave, the tentacle reacts to the crystals by showing a comet's impact, perhaps its own arrival on earth. Unable to stop Zane from intruding on Mako, Will has to follow him; their arrival seems to end the cave show.—KGF Vissers
- Rikki, Cleo and Bella sit their final exams, which happen to coincide with the full moon. While Cleo's aware of the full moon effect, she is intent on excelling in her subjects. She's thrown in a spin when the girls realise the moon will rise early and they're all astonished when this time water attacks them in public in the exam room. Will helps the girls conceal and escape the water attack and in the commotion the exam is suspended. Rikki convinces Cleo and Bella they should trust the water force at Mako Island and face it directly. They do - and when the moon reaches its zenith over the cupola in the Moon Pool they are presented with a message that appears to relate to them the formation of their special island from a comet. Zane and Will arrive - Zane eager to atone after the trouble he caused on the last full moon - but both are rebuked by the girls when they interrupt the precious message. The next day the girls complete their exam and excel. But Cleo is still uncertain if the message they saw was complete.
- A stressed out Cleo is trying to plan study sessions for the girls' final exams, but Bella and Rikki are more preoccupied with finding out about the tentacle. The girls are forced to make a quick exit when, during their science exam, the full moon rises early, and the tentacle tries to reach them through a water cooler in the classroom. They travel to Mako Island, and confront the tentacle, this time without fear, and realise that it is not trying to harm them, but get a message to them. The girls all place their crystal necklaces in a hole in the cave wall, triggering a projection to appear in the air. The girls watch it, and see a comet travelling towards the Earth, but before they can watch the whole message, Zane and Will interrupt them, and the projection stops. The girls are confused as to whether the Moon Pool was showing them the past (the creation of the Moon Pool itself), or the future.
