Numb3rs (TV Series)
Old Soldiers (2009)
Rob Morrow: Don Eppes
Quotes
-
Nikki Betancourt : I don't know about the outfit, Boss. Kind of look like an Eagle Scout.
[Don is dressed in an armoured car security guard uniform]
Don Eppes : Be prepared.
-
Colby Granger : Guys, guess who worked this case back in the 70's.
Nikki Betancourt : Roger Bloom. He's been around that long?
Colby Granger : Could be a big help. We would never have busted the copycat bank robberies if it weren't for him.
Don Eppes : Had a bit of a man crush on you, didn't he?
Colby Granger : He hates Nikki.
Nikki Betancourt : He doesn't hate me. He just doesn't get me.
Don Eppes : You should probably knock on his door in the morning.
-
Don Eppes : Hey, maybe that's it. The risk is the reward. Like an adrenaline high.
Charlie Eppes : Speaking of adrenaline, by the way, this morning, Dad made an off-handed comment about D.B. Cooper being a folk hero. And it started this whole argument about the 60's and just the way that Bloom reacted, honestly, I'm glad that he doesn't carry a gun anymore.
Don Eppes : Actually, I think he does carry a gun.
Charlie Eppes : He really went off on Dad.
Don Eppes : The guy's a vet. He comes home and people are calling him baby killer...
Charlie Eppes : You don't think Dad ever called anyone a baby killer?
Don Eppes : No. But sometimes, I'm not sure he really gets what guys like Bloom went through.
-
Don Eppes : Hey, what are you doing with this?
[Picks up toy gun]
Don Eppes : .
Alan Eppes : I was making room for Amita.
Don Eppes : I totally used to rule the neighbourhood with this puppy.
Charlie Eppes : You ruled the neighbourhood?
Don Eppes : I did. What you talkin about? Roger, you should see the range on this. I used to just have them all on the block, just like,
[mimics gunfire, Alan cringes]
Don Eppes : .
Charlie Eppes : Let's set up a historic re-enactment. Vets versus hippies. Me and Dad versus the two of you.
Don Eppes : Total blowout.
[to Roger]
Don Eppes : Come on, we'll kill them.
Roger Bloom : You can set up a field of fire. That does not qualify you as a vet, because it's more of a state of mind. Right, Alan?
Alan Eppes : That's right. That's right.
[Gestures to Charlie]
Alan Eppes : The same way scraggly hair and a four day growth of beard doesn't make you a rebel. One time on one of those freedom rides this Alabama state trooper, hit me with his baton so hard that the baton broke. Yeah, I still have a scar.
Roger Bloom : See? And this is how tough your dad is. You did not fight back.
Alan Eppes : You're right. We weren't supposed to.
[to Don and Charlie]
Alan Eppes : What's with the slack jaws? Give the man a beer.
Don Eppes : I wanna talk about this re-enactment thing. We're the FBI. I get tear gas. I mean, you guys are dead.
Charlie Eppes : We can bring a book of beatnik poetry or something.
Roger Bloom : Can I make a toast?
Don Eppes : Sure.
Roger Bloom : To scars. Those that we've already earned, and those that are coming.
