According to the BBC Archive for this episode, ''although it is well known that Bond prefers his martinis shaken, not stirred, Ian Fleming's novels have the secret agent taking his favourite tipple stirred, not shaken. The convention was reversed for the films because it was felt that the phrase sounded better the other way round.''
