An interesting situation on today's episode occurs when the body of a private investigator surfaces from below the concrete in a building that is being renovated. Harry Denton, a former ex-policeman, had gone into business by himself with a partner. His disappearance, duly reported by Lana, his associate, didn't create a big concern because Harry had left the force under doubts about his character.

As the Cold Case unit tackles the investigation, they go to see Lana. She knew Harry had been involved with the disappearance of Bunny Hargreave in 1974. This young woman was never found. After being reported missing, Harry realizes, it had to do with her step-mother, a woman with a shady past, and the nature of their relationship. This lady, Caroline Hargreave, was the love interest of a sleazy lawyer, Wilson Katz, who had plenty of reasons for trying to keep Harry Denton from snooping around, getting more involved in things better kept hidden. Katz was secretly in love with Caroline, so he was all too happy that Bunny was ever found.

John Finn, who plays Lt. John Stillman in "Cold Case", makes his directorial debut, proving he has learned a lot from working with the talented creators of this . Mr. Finn shows a potential as proved with this chapter of the show. The screenplay is by Elwood Reid. Personally, we liked the work of Brian Howe, a good character actor, who is seen as Harry Denton. His Harry is a man that has seen it all, yet, he has a heart of gold as Bunny realizes. Jud Taylor, Chandra West, Jane Daly, Shera Danese, Alan Blumenfeld, and the rest of the supporting cast do great work under Mr. Finn's direction.
