Do frogs have ears? Why do birds sing? Do animals have nursery rhymes? How do dead leaves vanish in the winters? Such questions have been amusing children for generations. Adults sometimes have the answers to such questions, but these innocent questions asked by kids surely stop us in our tracks from time to time and make us ponder.
“Elinor Wonders Why” answers some of these questions and introduces kids to the many other ingenuities of nature.
This animated series with anthropomorphic characters is the perfect companion for your kids as they try to make sense of the world. Indian actor Anil Kapoor, known globally for his roles in “Slumdog Millionaire” and “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol” has a raft of projects lined up.
First up is Viacom18 Studios and Dharma Productions’ “Jug Jugg Jeeyo,” directed by Raj Mehta (“Good Newwz”), which is due a June 24 release. The film follows a father and son pair who are considering divorcing their respective spouses, but hold the news back because of impending family festivities.
“Sometimes in a serious situation, you feel it is serious, but the way it has been written, the way the storytelling is, it’s very funny,” Kapoor told Variety. “It’s a situational comedy. It’s an entertainer, it’s a family film, it’s all about divorce. And that’s what it is, you go enjoy yourself and have fun.”

ITV Studios is buying British natural history producer Plimsoll Productions, Variety can reveal.
While the acquisition isn’t a done deal just yet, sources indicate that it’s expected to close in the next two days. The deal, which sees ITV Studios take a majority stake in Grant Mansfield’s company, is a major coup for the “Love Island” super-indie, which has long been missing a strong natural history player in its entertainment and drama-skewing portfolio.
Founded by Rdf Media and Zodiak USA veteran Mansfield, Plimsoll was founded in 2013 and specializes in wildlife and natural history programming across its outposts in Bristol, Cardiff and Los Angeles. The company has been regarded as one of Britain’s foremost independent natural history producers outside the BBC’s Natural History Unit.

American Idol continued its rich tradition of the iconic “Disney Night.” The Top 10 found inspiration for their songs by venturing through Disneyland and connecting with mentor Derek Hough. The top-notch entertainer and Vegas headliner filled in for the previously announced Ben Platt. Rhenzy Feliz and Adassa kicked off the proceedings alongside the Idol hopefuls on Encanto’s earworm “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.” The show saw special guests including Animal and Miss Piggy from The Muppets, Sneakarella’s Chosen Jacobs, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie helped Katy Perry to her judging chair as she went full Ariel from The Little Mermaid, fins and all. Unfortunately, Katy literally fell off her seat at the start. Live TV is fun. What wasn’t fun? Seeing three more say goodbye (or is it see you real soon). Hold on to those mouse ears. Let’s break down how the magical night unfolded.

Where to Watch “Animal”: Netflix
There’s a well-established nature doc series format. Any decision to stray away from the familiar rests on the edge between distracting and distinctive. Give the audience a Pov of the animal in question? Use some special lenses to show activity at night? Zero in on neon-colored creatures so otherworldly they seem alien? All have been (and probably will remain) viable options for other series.
But as long as you’re using one, picking a narrator can be one of those key choices. For the new Netflix original “Animal,” a different household name helps set the stage for each corner of the animal kingdom. Rashida Jones talks about big cats, Bryan Cranston connects foxes and wolves to household dogs, and Rebel Wilson brings a lighthearted touch to the world of marsupials. It’s the final chapter on the...

France’s Manny Films, Austria’s Nabis Filmgroup and Bulgaria’s Ars Digital have boarded Sofia Exarchou’s “Animal,” the follow-up to the Greek director’s San Sebastian prize winner “Park.”
“Animal” takes place under the hot Greek sun and amidst the sweaty nights of an eternal summer. The story of a group of entertainers who work at an all-inclusive island resort unfolds amid games, dance shows and nightly encounters that take place quietly behind the scenes.
The film is produced by Maria Drandaki and Maria Kontagianni for Homemade Films, with the support of the Greek Film Center, Ert and Ekome. Exarchou’s first feature, “Park,” premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and won the New Directors Award in San Sebastian.
