Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which turned 7 on October 28, is one good-looking film with actors who epitomize human beauty. True, they strive helplessly towards reaching the inner core of their being to obtain a spiritual centre to match that abundance of physical beauty. That synchronized connectivity between inner and outer beauty escapes the filmmaker as well as his characters who are heard mouthing some beautiful poetry that seems ordered online.
The film is enormously gratifying for the high level of visual aesthetics that Karan invests into his frames. Full marks to cinematographer Anil Mehta for shooting Karan’s location and actors with an intensity that frequently betrays their shallow interests in life. Karan Johar loves his films to look beautiful. He works towards gleaming polishing and grooming his locations and actors as though he were building a Taj Mahal for the gen-y to rest its reposeful romanticism.

Mumbai, Aug 25 (Ians) Actor Imran Khan, who quit acting after 2015 and has now hinted at making a comeback to films, has accepted his mistake of focusing only on the negative reviews he got for his 2010 film ‘Break Ke Baad’.
The actor revealed the reason as to why he is looking back at the past and said that he is trying to reshape his relationship with his films.
Taking to Instagram stories, Imran, who was last seen on screen in ‘Katti Batti’ in 2018, wrote: “If you are wondering why I’m looking up the past so much… it’s because I’m reshaping my relationship with my films. To be clear, I’m not blaming anyone for anything; all opinions are valid, and not everyone will like the same things… that’s normal.

Imran Khan, who took a break from acting, has been active on social media lately. Despite his hiatus from the limelight, the actor recently delighted fans by sharing a collection of previously unreleased behind-the-scenes snapshots from his 2010 film “Break Ke Baad,” in which he starred opposite Deepika Padukone.
He shared a series of pictures and captioned, ‘In the summer of 2010, I went to Mauritius to shoot Break ke Baad. We swam every day, ate a lot of seafood, sampled Mauritian rum (potent), and made some friends for life. It was a blast. Apparently, in between all the revelries, we managed to make a film as well. This one always had a special place in my heart, because of how much I enjoyed making it. I can’t show you many of the behind the scenes photographs, as it may compromise the modesty of certain individuals… but here’s a glimpse.

After The Beatles broke up, John Lennon publicly voiced his frustration and derision for the group. He disparaged their music, including songs he wrote, and insulted his former bandmates. He also was reportedly the first to inform the band that he wanted to step away from them. Despite all this, Lennon admitted that he didn’t think their break up would be permanent. He noted that the band dynamic was always open, so this didn’t feel all that different.

After the band broke up, each former member embarked on a solo career. While, over the years, they all scoffed at the idea of a Beatles reunion, Lennon was less certain about this shortly after the breakup. In a 1970 interview, he, unsurprisingly, was asked if The Beatles would record together again.

In the late 1960s, The Beatles struggled to manage themselves after the death of Brian Epstein, so they hired Allen Klein. The decision caused a rift between the band members that led, at least partly, to their break up. Klein continued to manage John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr after the split, but they ultimately ended their business relationships. In the years after he stopped working with The Beatles, here’s what happened to Klein.

In 1967, the band’s longtime manager, Epstein, died of an overdose. They struggled to manage without him and, on Mick Jagger’s recommendation, decided to hire Klein, who had been managing The Rolling Stones.

Disney+ Hotstar production “Gulmohar” marks the comeback film of veteran Indian actor Sharmila Tagore and the feature debut of Rahul V. Chittella.
Tagore, who debuted with Satyajit Ray’s “The World of Apu” (1959) was last seen in “Break Ke Baad” (2010). Chittella has directed a few shorts and previously worked with “Monsoon Wedding” filmmaker Mira Nair.
The cast also includes Manoj Baypayee (Rotterdam competition film “Joram”), Suraj Sharma (“Life of Pi”), Amol Palekar (“Farzi”) and Simran (“Petta”).
Set in Delhi, “Gulmohar” follows the final four days of the Batra family living in their 34-year-old family home as they move to a new city.
The film, co-written by Arpita Mukherjee and Chittella, was born out of the latter’s experiences of having lived and worked in Nair’s house in Delhi, which was subsequently sold.
“I was in Delhi for some meetings in early 2019 and visited the house as it was getting packed up.

Mumbai, May 23 (Ians) Actress Shahana Goswami feels web shows have ushered better quality of writing, which in turn creates scope for actors like her to prove their versatility.
In her latest show "The Last Hour", Shahana plays a police officer who, along with another male counterpart, sets out to unravel a murder mystery. Did she feel she was a strong female character in the otherwise male-dominated world of the story?
"I think when something is well written, there's a natural balance about the portrayal of each character in it. When I am saying balance, it means we do not need to highlight a character only because he is a male or a female character but giving substantial space for each of them. When it comes to my character in 'The Last Hour', where I play an investigating police officer, it was about the contribution of the character in the narrative.

Failure, competition and the pressure of staying relevant perennially looms on actors in Bollywood. Some can cope with it and some cannot. Those who cannot, often quit and opt for a different path in another fields.
The author has jotted out a few names, who courted the limelight for a while but could not continue their journey in the world of glitz and sparkle called Bollywood.
Imran Khan
Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's nephew Imran Khan has quit Bollywood as an actor. He broke the news earlier this month. Imran made his debut in Hindi film industry in 2008 with the hit film "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na". However, most of what followed was forgettable fare as "Luck", "Kidnap", "I Hate Luv Story" and "Break Ke Baad". There was "Delhi Belly" in 2011, but that was an odd success, clearly not enough. Imran's last big screen outing was in 2015 with Kangana Ranaut...

What's good?
In memory of the musical legend Tom Petty, I couldn't help thinking about how the movies essentially introduced me to my love for his music (much as movies happen to introduce me to a lot of music I come to hold close to my heart) and I wanted to have something to say about it.
So I looked to two wildly different films that utilize the quintessential Heartbreakers classic "American Girl", the jangly pumping tune about a young girl looking out in hopes of a world outside her balcony. It was his second big hit, riding on the success of previous single "Breakdown", and it's instantly recognizable in the Diddley-esque high chords strumming and the sort of bass drum kick-snare pattern that makes one pop up and ready to move. It's no less infectious than any pop song of the day in its simplicity. So...

They say that Saturday is always the grind but if you can make it to Sunday it gets easier. 4 teams made it through a long Saturday filled with some of the most incredible moments and games in Call of Duty history! Without further ado, here's how Day 4 of the Call of Duty World League Championship 2017 went down!
Team EnVyUs vs Ghost Gaming
EnVy’s strong defense was on full display early Day 4. Ghost Gaming would enter the day confident after a good showing on Day 3, and showed in a close Hardpoint game. Unfortunately, confidence doesn’t win championships and EnVy took Game 1.
EnVy wouldn’t look back, either. In S&D, Ghost would have no response to EnVy’s hard-hitting defense and they’d lose a Game 2 where they showed little to no competition. Finally, Game 3 showed off Ghost’s strength on Uplink. The only issue was that EnVy wasn...

It's all about betrayal on The Arrangement Season 1 Episode 8, as Megan and Kyle learn that perhaps the only people they can trust are each other.
After the break-in, Kyle could have gone to Terence as he did with any other emergency. This time, though, he decided to handle things himself and put in a new security system without Terence's help or approval.
It was a big step for Kyle and the first step to him breaking free of the hold the Institute and Terence has on him.
DeAnn was alarmed by Terence being so nonchalant about the whole thing, but he seems to think that Kyle is just going through a phase and will return to him and the Institute sooner rather than later.
But I don't think so. At least not while he's with Megan. And now that she's moving in with him, she's going to have an...

The idea behind the Local Voices neighbor-to-neighbor campaign is simple: use a documentary approach to capture the concerns every day Americans have about Donald Trump in unscripted, personal commentaries and then air them as one-minute ads in the same swing state communities where they were filmed.
Filmmaker Lee Hirsch (“Bully”), who started the Local Voices Democratic Super Pac in 2008, has spent the last three election cycles studying and experimenting with how best to engage and motivate voters.

Update: Another white guy from the South has done it: Trent Harmon won Season 15, making him our final American Idol. Both Trent and La'Porsha were strong talents, and Trent earned his fan support, but that makes 10 male winners and only five female winners in the history of the series. Is it just coincidence? Were the men just that much better or did the demographic shift toward favoring men over the course of the series? Four of the five women (Kelly, Fantasia, Carrie, Jordin) won their seasons in the first six years, and then we fell into the white guys with guitars trope that was occasionally just white guys from the South or cute white guys from wherever. Point to ponder: If Kelly Clarkson competed on a season in the past five or six years, would she have won?

Last week, This Is England '90 was a tale of two halves. Episode two of Channel 4's working-class saga replicated a little of the premiere's 'Fools Gold'-tinged '90s nostalgia, before descending into darkness.
There's no gentle easing in of the audience here - the shock reappearance of Lol and Kelly's father Mick, in a chilling nightmare sequence, ensures that episode 3 grabs you from the off.
It's an uncharacteristic move for such a grounded series, but effective, and you can forgive writer/director Shane Meadows for breaking formula to feature the terrifying Johnny Harris once more.
This latest outing - 'Autumn' - all centres around Mick, and Stephen Graham's jailed anti-hero Combo, with the two men's fates now unexpectedly but inexorably linked.
Mick was reprehensible and irredeemable, a true monster who showed no guilt or regret for his crimes. By contrast, Combo articulates his "shame and genuine remorse...

This is the new Newcastle United. Steve McClaren is at the helm, Ian Cathro et al are in his backroom staff, and Georginio Wijnaldum is set to become the club’s new prize midfielder – oh, and they have won a football match without every really looking troubled, something they simply couldn’t do during John Carver’s hapless reign.
Yes this was “only Gateshead” – who were dogged without the ball, if hardly threatening with it – at the International Stadium and the scoreline was a paltry 1-0 but the Magpies can only be judged game by game for now, and it was a beginning that showed glimpses towards a brave new dawn for Newcastle United Football Club.

The fretful anticipation surrounding The Vampire Diaries' finale has been building since stars Nina Dobrev and Michael Trevino announced in early April that they would leave the show after season 6.
With a fanbase as committed as Tvd's, it was inevitable viewers would be equal parts up-in-arms and dissolved-in-puddles regardless of how the characters made their exits. Unfortunately for Trevino's fans, his werewolf hybrid character Tyler Lockwood ended on more of a whimper than a growl on Thursday. The fanfare around the departure of Dobrev's on-screen persona Elena Gilbert, however, certainly merited the uproar heard around the Twitterverse during and after the East Coast airing.

The Voice‘s “Twitter Save” is a curious thing. It asks us to (possibly) veto the will of Monday-night voters in exchange for adding a heaping teaspoon of sriracha to the unflavored polenta that is a typical results-show telecast.
But riddle me this: What if NBC insisted you go to Myspace to rescue a member of the Bottom 3 from being sent to the guillotine? Or if you were forced to create a Vine (the absolute Worst) to make yourself heard? Would you go out to the nearest intersection and create a makeshift smoke signal in an effort to keep a particular singer in the mix?...

Bollywood relations are most unpredictable! Former friends can turn foes today; ex-flames can be good pals today. Ex-lovers Akshay 'Khiladi' Kumar and Shilpa Shetty, who shared a torrid love affair and were romantically involved at one point of time, had parted ways years ago.
After the break-up Shilpa and Akshay stayed away from each other for a few years. However, today everything is fine between the former couple as they have buried the hatchet and moved on in life. Not only this, the duo has now even formed a business alliance.
Interestingly, Akshay has joined hands with Shilpa's husband Raj Kundra to launch a shopping channel. While it has come as a surprise for everyone, the twosome is also being appreciated for showing up maturity.
Even former couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone has moved on. In fact, they are working together in films with same zeal.

It's getting serious on The X Factor now, and how do we know? Because each act will be performing two songs this week... no biggie! There are just five hopefuls left – Stereo Kicks, Lauren Platt, Andrea Faustini, Ben Haenow and Fleur East – but who's going to shine?
One thing they've had no control over this week is song choice. The public picked one of their tracks, and special celeb guests chose the other. That means anything could happen, so join us from the start of the show at 8pm, as we bring you all the action...

Hope you weren’t busy today, because Marvel has just busted out with a tremendous amount of information — really, this makes Comic-Con look like a warm-up — and it’s here to utterly alter the look of the already superhero-crowded box office. Not content to send out a press release (like DC; sorry, DC), the Marvel team just spent the afternoon putting on a jaw-dropping event that included the announcement of three all-new projects and confirmation of five (well, really six) long-rumored features. The treats didn’t stop there, because Marvel has also gone ahead and confirmed Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther (oh, and also, hey! we’re getting Black Panther!), though there’s no word on if Benedict Cumberbatch is indeed set to play Doctor Strange. So what have we got ahead of us? Well, there’s that Black Panther movie and then also a little something called Captain Marvel (if you’re into female-led superhero movies...

Author Nicholas Sparks knows what he’s doing. The bestselling scribe has penned seventeen novels, ten of which have been turned into films, two of which will arrive in theaters within the next year. Sparks’ films have pulled in nearly half a billion dollars in just domestic box office returns, making a hell of a bankable brand that appeals to all sorts of studios (Sparks’ films have been produced by a variety of movie studios, from Warner Bros. to Relativity to Sony’s Screen Gems label). Sparks know what’s up. The people who make films based on his novel know what’s up. And, if you’ve ever read even one Sparks book or seen one Sparks movie, you also know what’s up, because these productions tend to look pretty damn similar. There are plenty of hallmarks of Sparks’ work, from a Southern setting to imminent death scenes to lots of yelling in the rain...

Warner Bros. took the stage this morning at Comic-Con in San Diego to show off some of its upcoming film slate, including a quick look at Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (yes, they are still serious about that title). According to reports from various media attending the event, Zack Snyder took the stage, fresh off a plane that came directly from the film’s set, to show off a short teaser trailer. He also welcomed the trinity of headlining cast — Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot — to the stage before also showing off some images of the cast in their costumes. After the break, we’ve got descriptions of the footage and a first (slightly blurry) look at Gal Gadot in her Wonder Woman armor, complete with a sword. For a description of the footage, here are some 140-character updates from Ain’t It Cool News‘ Eric Vespe: Warner Bros panel starting. Hold...

We may be within spitting distance of this year’s Comic-Con, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t spend some time getting excited about the next next big event: this September’s Toronto International Film Festival. The festival has now unleashed the first bit of its slate, and it’s already the kind of talent-packed, big name-crammed, jaw-dropping kind of thing we’ve long come to expect from the festival. Honestly? I’m sort of already packing my bags right now, because I don’t want anything slowing down my ability to see a whole mess of these films (even excessively and embarrassingly early preparations). This announcement includes thirteen Galas and forty-six Special Presentations — just a smidge of the festival’s full slate, really, but the one that’s the most glitzy and recognizable — which includes thirty-seven world premieres and plenty of films we’ve been waiting a long time to see. And, just like that, another film festival has just gone ahead and wrapped itself right up. This year’s Tribeca Film Festival featured a hefty number of features that sounded typical, standard or otherwise expected (save for a little ditty titled Zombeavers), but the results were often unexpectedly great, strangely able to twist a trite trope or two into something fresh. “Relationship dramas” ruled, there was twentysomething ennui as far as the eye could see and documentaries keeled to the side of “dramatic,” but plenty of final films felt truly satisfying and original. And, of course, there was also a little something we like to call “a triumph of the weird,” but you’ll have to read ahead for that one. After the break, our own Kate Erbland and Daniel Walber — old Tribeca pros by now — share their favorite films of the festival, in the hopes that you’ll be able to seek them out one day...

And now, it's Eros International which is all set to produce a light hearted film on the current happenings in Bollywood. Titled Ticket to Bollywood, this film talks about the changes occurred due to the arrival of the studio system. While this will be debut directorial of producer Vicky Bahri (who had earlier produced films like Break Ke Baad and Teri Meri Kahaani), it will star Pulkit Samrat along with two beauties Aditi Rao Hydari and Shazahn Padamsee. Talking about the characters in the film, Bahri stated while Pulkit is reprising a shady actor from the North, Aditi will be seen as a girl of the London origin, and both struggle to make it big in Bollywood. Tonight's elimination show, kicked off with a brief recap of last night's performances. Then the remaining contestants chatted about their performances for a little before host, Ryan Seacrest, got right down to business, and revealed that Dexter Roberts and Jena Irene were both safe this week. After a break and some brief Ford promo crap, they had former Idol contestant , Chris Daughtry and his band Daughtry, perform, "Waiting For Superman." Afterwards, Ryan talked with Chris for a moment before heading into another break. After the break, Ryan revealed that Caleb Johnson, Jessica Meuse, and Alex Preston were all safe this week, which left poor Malaya Watson, Sam Woolf, and C.J. Harris in the bottom three. Then Ryan quickly revealed that Malaya and C.J. were safe, so Sam Woolf did indeed receive the least amount of votes this week, so he had to sing for the judges "save." And Omg!

She jumps down and demands to know whether she’s really that easy to impersonate, wondering why no one questioned her dancing on a bar “half naked” and if they really believe she’d take her underage brother to a college bar for tequila shots. Well, yes, considering:
1) She was turned into a vampire only very recently;
2) Since turning she’s been under the influence of her Heightened Emotions, being sire-bonded, having her emotion chip pulled and Katherine; and
3) of all the times she’s witnessed Jeremy drinking underage she’s stopped him exactly twice, and
4) she’s a college freshman. Acting out in new and unusual ways is part of the job description.

Although Section 377 remains in place, and continues to criminalize homosexuality in India, social change is a powerful wave that cannot be stopped.
Bollywood, in particular commercial Bollywood, has been famous for love stories. The formula of boy meets girl has been applied and re-applied again and again, becoming the “norm” – with small room for change.
Breaking the “norm” and challenging the taboo of homosexuality, it is almost time for Bollywood to present a main stream, same-gender, homosexual love story.
Directed by Break Ke Baad’s Director Danish Aslam, Balaji have announced their new production, Romil and Juggal.
Portraying two men falling in love, Romil and Juggal is a love story inspired by Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet with the script written by Anu Menon, writer and director of London, Paris New York.

While several renditions of Shakespeare’s historic romance Romeo and Juliet have been attempted, trust Balaji Motion Pictures to do something different and daring. The prolific production house has announced “Romil and Juggal”, a hilarious and heart-warming re-imagination of Romeo and Juliet, except that both the protagonists are male!
A first-of-its-kind entertainer, “Romil and Juggal” looks to break stereotype as the coming-of-age romance, never seen before on Indian celluloid and explores what it means to stand out from the crowd of Macho India.
While details of the film are tightly being kept under wraps, given the subject of the film, news has it that two fresh faces will be launched by Balaji for this bold yet emotional, romantic saga.

For those who are sick and tired of hearing William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and seeing its umpteen versions on screen, this piece of news will surely act as a breath of fresh air. Producer Ekta Kapoor has now signed director Danish Aslam, (who made his directorial debut with Break Ke Baad) to direct the Shakespearean tale... with a gay twist to it!
Danish feels that we tend to go to extreme ends when it comes to dealing with topic of homosexuality in our films by making it either hilarious or too serious. His film however will be realistic but not exceptionally dramatic. The details of the cast are still awaited.

The 6,028 members of the motion picture academy are in the midst of filling in their ballots for Oscar nominations. The deadline for either completing these online or getting them back to the accountants is 5 pm Pt on Jan. 8. We have written in detail about the complicated counting method used to determine the Best Picture lineup here. And we have analyzed the effects of preferential voting -- first introduced back in 1934 -- on most of the other categories here. Below, we crunch the numbers to reveal the exact count of academy members in each branch and the "magic" number of them you have to win over in order to be among the nominees announced on Jan. 16. With five nominees in a category, this threshold is the members total in that branch divided by six plus one. If each of five contenders reaches this number, it is mathematically impossible for a sixth to get there.

"The X Factor" might get less fanfare than its older sibling, "American Idol," but the final four acts remaining in Season 3 are worthy of as many accolades as the superstars on any other reality singing competition. It was a hard competition, but finally we narrowed down the semifinalists: groups Restless Road and Alex and Sierra, over 25-er Jeff Gutt, and boy Carlito Olivero, to the three finalists competing for the Season 3 title. Who made it?
The episode began with a delightfully chaste group number of Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger," and was followed by an extensive package recapping the Top 4 performance night. This essentially proved the uselessness of results shows, and the fact that it takes an hour to eliminate one act is kind of insane.
Mario Lopez then rapidly asked each act a question, providing ample opportunity for Miss America-style answers: we love everyone, everybody deserves to be here, I...

Marouane Chamakh showed former club West Ham what they were missing as the Moroccan gave Crystal Palace a scrappy and hard fought win over their London rivals.
Long ball tactics and head tennis made for a rather ugly beginning to this crunch London derby. Barry Bannan curled a cross-shot over and Jason Puncheon saw another Palace effort saved by Jussi Jaaskelainen.

Newcastle United moved up to fifth in the Premier League table on Saturday thanks to a stunning strike from Moussa Sissoko against West Brom after the former Toulouse man struck a spectacular drive from distance in the 57th minute to hand Alan Pardew’s men their fourth win in a row.
Minutes earlier, Albion’s Chris Brunt had equalised after Yoan Gouffran’s fifth goal of the season, but Sissoko’s stunner was worthy of winning any match.

New Delhi, Nov 22: If you feel the spark in your relationship is missing, and there's no excitement left between you and your partner, here are some tips from actors Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone who played on screen lovers in the 2010 movie "Break Ke Baad".
