The early part of the episode wraps up the Saffron storyline, which probably didn't need to be wrapped up but at least we can be sure it is now.Donna's seeming surrender makes you cringe with disappointment but then you get that little "I've got a plan" moment between Toadie and Ringo as they see Vanessa having a go at Lindsey.Toadie then disappears for a bit, allowing Ringo to play hero, but ultimately the workers of the world unite.Donna's hug for Lindsey after she sticks up for her is a great moment.
Then it's onto the farewell for Elle.Holding a picnic in the garage because it's raining at first seems to be an excuse not to go out on location but it actually provides a nice mood to the scenes.Ultimately it's about two people who genuinely love each other but are just at the wrong moment in their lives to make it work.Lucas and Elle's last scenes are pitch perfect, showing the end of a relationship without any unnecessary histrionics. There's a brilliant double reveal scene where we learn Donna's having a heart to heart with a cat...and then learn that Paul's only standing a couple of feet away.Paul's moment of exasperation at Donna and Elle both deciding to stand by their men is well played although the airport scenes show Stefan Dennis still has a few difficulties with emotion. The subplot about Lucas' gambling addiction is hopefully a red herring because we really don't need that being brought up again.
