With husband Peter's case finally going before the courts, Alicia finds herself as second chair in a civil case against Colin Sweeney who was found not guilty of murdering his wife. Sweeney is something of an enigma, making wry jokes about being a wife killer even though he denies having anything to do with his wife's death. Alicia is convinced he's likely guilty. In court, she and Will Gardner face a wily young lawyer who seems to have the judge wrapped around her little finger. Meanwhile, Diane Lockhart, a life-long advocate of gun control, decides she needs a gun when an imprisoned client who threatened her is about to be released on parole.
