Exclusive: YouTube’s flagship scripted series Cobra Kai will be moving to a new streaming platform for its upcoming third season. The Google-owned online video service is in the process of releasing Season 3 of the popular show to producing studio Sony Pictures TV amid a retreat from premium original scripted programming.
Sony TV had taken Cobra Kai out, with all major streamers expressing interest, sources said. I hear the field of suitors has been narrowed down, with Netflix and Hulu leading the short list of contenders for the Karate Kid sequel series, starring Ralph Macchio and William Zabka.
Noone would comment but I hear that, along with exclusive rights to Season 3 of Cobra Kai, the new outlet will have access on a non-exclusive basis to the first two seasons of the show for fans to catch up. That has been part of the negotiation with YouTube, which had ownership...

Stars: Dolph Lundgren, Natalie Burn, Sean Patrick Flanery, Chuck Liddell, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson, Danny Trejo, Al Sapienza, Olya Banar, Riccardo Berdini, Ryan Carnes, Neb Chupin, Joe Corzo | Written by Michael Merino | Directed by Michael Merino, Daniel Zirilli
I’ve been a big fan of actress Natalie Burn since her role in 2016’s Left to Die (aka Awaken). That film, which she also co-wrote, saw her take the lead role in a Most Dangerous Game-esque movie but be sidelined by the marketing materials who focused on the appearance of Vinnie Jones in the cast. And Acceleration does something very similar.
To the uninitiated Acceleration looks like yet another Dtv star-vehicle for Dolph Lundgren; hell, even the cast listing atop the DVD cover puts Sean Patrick Flanery, Lundgren and Chuck Liddell ahead of Burns. But this Is Burns’ film, she and her character are the driving force behind the action. It...

Robbie Robertson has seen a lot in six decades of rock & roll, but nothing quite like what happened at the Toronto Pop Festival in 1969. He and the Band were on a bill that included the New Orleans studio musician and songwriter Mac Rebennack, newly reinvented as Dr. John, the Night Tripper. “This guy I’m talking to, he has strands of beads and shit coming off his head and powders coming out of his ears and rags hanging down,” recalls Robertson. “He’s got a walking stick that looks like...

Lana Del Rey and Dan Auerbach are apparently collaborating on the former's next album "Ultraviolence," while the latter has some explaining to do. The recent "Once Upon a Dream" cover artist Tweeted a photo of her and the Black Keys frontman together, with her arms around his neck, each appropriately stoic. "Me and Dan Auerbach are excited to present you Ultraviolence," she posted, which Auerbach retweeted. Del Rey had announced the "Ultraviolence" title when she premiered her "Tropico" video last month, with a May 1 release date. With what little one could cull from the statement, the pairing sounds to be more than just a duet or some guitarwork: the guitarist and singer could likely be producing the set. That scenery in black and white could be the Akron Analog studio near Auerbach's Ohio hometown or at his Easy Me and Dan Auerbach are excited to present you Ultraviolence pic.twitter.

Big news 2014 continues with more on Star Wars, specifically Episode VII and the view from the outside of the Disney/Abrams Death Star.
Everything Star Wars is Locked Down like nobody’s business. The Disney/Star Wars team is monitoring the internet activity of anyone with story-level involvement and access to the slightest bit of information. As we rapidly approach production, things are solidifying and Disney/Star Wars is getting ready to board the Abrams Denial Train (previous passenger Benedict KAHNberbatch).
It’s going to be dodgy territory for entertainment news reporting on Star Wars from here on out, so let’s begin by putting our cards on the table: Please pay close attention to what we are and are not reporting. Especially with something like Star Wars, we stand by what we’ve reported only as far as we can – which is to say meetings don’t always lead...

Boston police have reportedly located and surrounded Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, and police activity has now begun to amplify. Officers are drawing their weapons and frantically telling reporters to stay down.

The Boston police continued to push the media back to a safe distance in Watertown, where earlier in the day they gunned down Dzhokhar’s brother/accomplice, Tamerlan. Possibly anticipating some sort of confrontation to occur in the near futur, the police were seen drawing their weapons and taking every other precaution, according to CNN.
Though the police reportedly do believe that they have Dzhokhar surrounded, they are still concerned that he could be extremely dangerous. Considering his and his brother’s penchant for explosives — Tamerlan was found...

The blokes who flex their muscles in Ultimate Fighting Championship and mixed martial arts events are mostly a larger-than-life blend of showmanship and brawn – which explains why they’re increasingly being snapped up by Hollywood. With more and more Mma fighters moving into the movies, I thought I’d take a look at some of the biggest names to have made the crossover.
Tony Schiena
Winner of numerous Mma trophies around the globe, Schiena flexed his acting chops in Locked Down as a framed cop who winds up in jail and is forced into cage fighting by none other than Brit hardman turned thesp Vinnie Jones. Schiena retired from sport after breaking both his ankles (ouch!) but has since found his feet on the big screen working with everyone from Pacino to Van Damme.

At last night's Grammy Awards, the Black Keys performed "Lonely Boy" along with the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Dr. John, who received much attention for his batshit-crazytown headdress (seen above). Though it was easy to make fun of the New Orleans–bred musician for looking like an Ewok witch doctor, Dr. John has rocked such finery for as long as he's been Dr. John. Over the decades, as part of his "Night Tripper" persona, he has regularly hit the stage in be-feathered Mardi Gras–esque costumes. Just take a look at the cover art for his 2012 album, Locked Down. (Produced, incidentally, by Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys.) We've collected four other pictures for your afternoon amusement:...

With Platinum Games involved in its development, my expectations for the action in "Metal Gear Rising Revengeance" have been set high--perhaps unreasonably high. I consider their "Bayonetta" to be the high water mark of character action games for this console generation, but it might not be fair to hold "Mgrr" to the same standard--they're playing with Kojima Productions' toys now and there were some definite ideas about the game in place before Platinum Games swooped in to save Raiden's solo adventure from the chopping block.
Anyway, you can also check out the sweet-looking images from the upcoming PlayArts Kai Raiden figure on the way in February. These have popped up online in the past, but as we get closer to the release of the game, it's nice to remember that you can totally have your own Raiden on his tippy toes getting ready to kick in your house.

And the winners of the 2013 Grammy Awards are ... the men. Male artists dominate the nominees in the top categories for the 55th Annual Grammy Awards, announced Wednesday night (Dec. 5).
Topping the list with six nominations each are Jay-z, Kanye West, Fun., Mumford & Sons, Frank Ocean and Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.
Taylor Swift, whose new album "Red" won't be eligible for consideration until 2014, earned a single nod for Record of the Year with her hit breakup single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together."
The biggest snubs are teen heartthrobs Justin Bieber and One Direction, who cleaned up at the American Music Awards, and Rihanna. The "Diamonds" singer earned a trio of nods (pop solo performance for her "Where Have You Been," rap-sung collaboration nomination with Jay-z for "Talk That Talk" and short-form music video for "We Found Love") but is Mia from the major categories.

Her IMDb resume indicates that she starred in Wrong Turn 4 and the Vinnie Jones/Kimbo Slice/Bai Ling 2010 actual movie Locked Down, along with a mandatory-in-Canada appearance on Degrassi: The Next Generation. But Leeb’s career is getting a lift thanks to her brief, uncredited, but utterly pivotal role in August’s Total Recall remake as the reincarnation of the Three-Breasted Mutant Prostitute. If you’re thinking this will be “a New Orleans album” in any of the usual senses -- even in any of the usual Dr. John senses -- you might be disappointed. The unrated version of Wrong Turn 4 is available on DVD and Blu-Ray and VOD just in time for the Halloween Season. You can rent Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings for only $3.99. You can also purchase Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings from Amazon. After watching the movie I know why it's unrated and went straight to DVD, the film would have never received a R rating due to the gore, sex and nudity shown. Wrong Turn 4 is directed by Decian O’Brien (Wrong Turn 3) and stars Terra Vnesa, (Sive Girls), Dean Armstrong (Saw 3D) and Kaitlyn Wong (Locked Down). Wrong Turn 4 is a bit of a prequel to the original Wrong Turn.

Maya Entertainment has also started production on the crime thriller The Repeater. This title stars Luke Goss (Death Race 2), Bai Ling (Locked Down) and action star Gary Daniels (The Expendables). The film is currently in pre-production, so details are limited. However, a concept poster is available, which features Goss and the tagline: "Find, Kill...Repeat." As well, the film deals with a criminal underworld in Mexico and a mercenary for hire, who must face "the most feared man in the world" (Maya Entertainment).
Unbelievably, actor Luke Goss found his first big break in show business with the British Pop Music world, where he charted at least thirteen singles. This band was formed with his brother, Matt Goss before disbanding over contract disputes with their management. Then, Goss transitioned to stage acting in the play "Grease," in London, England. Cinema awaited. Blade II (2002) would be one of his first roles,...

Spielberg Also Confirms A Story For 'Jurassic Park IV' Has Been Locked Down While Peter Jackson made it clear that he wouldn't be attending Comic-Con with "The Hobbit," the fan-friendly director still bought a plane ticket to San Diego and today he was the (not so) surprise guest at the panel for "The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.” (And yes, that image above is a brand new look at the film released not-so-coincidentally just before the the festivities this afternoon got underway). The panel kicked off with Steven Spielberg receiving this year's Inkpot Award and attendees were…...

Vinnie Jones has enjoyed varying degrees of success since trading a career in professional football for acting. After an auspicious debut in the early breakout hits from Guy Richie to high profile roles in Hollywood action fests such as Gone In 60 Seconds and X-Men: The Last Stand, Jones seems to currently be dwelling in straight to DVD territory which is where we find him in Locked Down, a prison based action film released on Blu-ray and DVD this week.
A shamed cop must fight to defend his integrity after being incarcerated for a crime he didn’t commit, and forced to compete as an underground cage fighter. Danny (Tony Schiena) was a good cop, but now he’s serving hard time. His reputation tarnished after an investigation went awry, Danny does his best not to draw attention to himself while he’s on the inside.

Locked Down
Stars: Tony Schiena, Vinnie Jones, Dwier Brown, Bai Ling, Kimbo Slice | Written and Directed by Daniel Zirilli
Another month, another straight to DVD action movie – this one’s another from the cast and crew of Circle of Pain, and like that film, it stars martial artist turned actor Tony Schiena as another hard-done-by guy forced into a situation not of his own making.
This time round Schiena plays Danny, a respected cop from a long-standing cop family, who is framed, set up, and sent to Blackwater Prison. Locked up with the very crooks he put away, Danny must prove his innocence and watch his back. But Blackwater is no ordinary prison, it’s home to Vinnie Jones’ Vargas – a big-time gangster who still runs his criminal empire from within the walls of the prison. A criminal empire which, like any good martial arts movie, includes underground prison fights!

The blokes who flex their muscles in Ultimate Fighting Championship and mixed martial arts events are mostly a larger-than-life blend of showmanship and brawn – which explains why they’re increasingly being snapped up by Hollywood. As rollicking prison thriller Locked Down hits the Blu-ray and DVD shelves, we look at the ten biggest hitters from the Ufc and Mma who are making the transition to the movies…
Tony Schiena
Winner of numerous Mma trophies around the globe, Schiena flexes his acting chops in Locked Down as a framed cop who winds up in jail and is forced into cage fighting by none other than Brit hardman turned thesp Vinnie Jones. Schiena retired from sport after breaking both his ankles (ouch!) but has since found his feet on the big screen working with everyone from Pacino to Van Damme. He was last seen in the straight to DVD flick Circle of Pain.

Fighting movies like Beatdown and Locked Down aspire to many not-so lofty things. Their target audience wants blood, bruises, and breasts with a soundtrack by bands who want to be the next Linkin Park. While Locked Down aspires to these goals, it is rare to see a fighting film that wants to be The Shawshank Redemption with kung fu. Locked Down is not likely to win awards anytime soon and I cannot really recommend it. However, I did not hate this movie which is much more than I expected.
In Locked Down, Danny (Tony Schiena) is an undercover cop who is framed for a crime he didn’t commit. Soon after he arrives in prison, he is recruited to the underground fight club where criminals fight to the death, run by boss Anton (Vinnie Jones) and Flores (Bai Ling).
