Season Two Review
southdavid10 June 2022
I liked the first season of "The Flight Attendant" but one of the things I liked about it was that it felt like a self-contained story, with its Murder/Mystery being resolved across the run time. I didn't think that the second season would be able to get away with yet more amateur sleuthing and, whilst I certainly didn't hate this run, I think I was about right.

Having relocated to Los Angeles and approaching one year sober, Cassie (Kaley Cuoco) is moonlighting as a CIA asset. In Berlin, a target she has been following is murdered in a car bomb and a woman who looks uncannily like her becomes the prime suspect. Annie (Zosia Mamet) and Max (Deniz Akdeniz) come to visit Cassie, only to become embroiled in that murder and what connection, if any, it has to Megan's (Rosie Perez) defection to Korean.

I mean, I can't stress enough that this was certainly reasonable enough entertainment. The performances are good, especially from Cuoco who gets to delve even more into the alcoholic aspect of her life than she did previously. There's an excellent guest turn from Sharon Stone as Cassie's mother. Stone is very deserving of the career renaissance that she's having. This season adds some great new cast members, like Cheryl Hines, Mo McRae, Mae Martin and Jessie Ennis. Everyone does well.

I couldn't shake the feeling that it was all a bit unnecessary though. Maybe that's the wrong terminology, what TV is "necessary"? Maybe it's more that this story was told and this second season felt more like a remix than a genuine continuation. It was reasonably clever how some of the aspects were hit again but others felt crowbarred in.

Again, don't get me wrong, this was alright. But I don't feel like we needed it and I certainly don't feel like they should make any more.

Overall opinion is definitely mixed

If season one was like season 2 I'd not have watched any new seasons, same as I won't watch a third, especially after everything was wrapped up, bar maybe a tv feature film with a prison escape of felix and few other slight open bits I think this series is rightly concluded before it undoes any remaining good feelings.

Season 1 was 10/10, so creative, chaotic, unpredictable and just perfect, I can't fault anything enough to even drop to 9.99. Loved it.

Season 2, whilst I though Kaleys acting was a 10, I genuinely think her ability has come on so far from her sitcom days, emotions and chairs just click with her, I'd say nearly everyone else was either poor or passable. The characters became shallow, dull and frankly irritating. Bar max and Shane and although she wasn't in it that much Megan was far better this season, those two guys were good, but the rest especially the poor cia cast, Jenny and Dani, awful, the croaky support from AA to was just hard to understand, the brother was just not given enough to be taken remotely seriously as important.

Cassie was a believable mess where as Dani seemed to want to be a mess childish and just needlessly rude mixed with emotionally immature and well frankly just a bit obsessive. That interview scene was just stupidity, tye CIA were just copy and pasted from £3 dvds, just wooden and well dull.

Jenny, what a surprise the only time a show uses a normal looking woman it's as a psycho because someone attractive showed them attention and obviously they'd do anything for that because that's what women are worth... yawn. She was a character seen in way too many shows and movies.

The problem with season 2 was that it was predictable, the 3 women who were issues were so easily predictable, the motives maybe less so but excluding Jenny, a corrupt official and her toy were hardly good writing. I forget her name but without the British woman this show lost nearly all its humour.

The stuff with her mom was deep but also not fleshed out enough, even so after all she went through the mom didn't just step up? Seems a bit much. I didn't fully get the hate, especially when it's addiction but I just think they didn't commit enough to that part.

Megan was too much an after thought, shoehorned in various places with barely any actual story, just 2 minute cameos here and there, think the episodes in 2 could've done with a bit more non Cassie content especially when it was being executed so poorly.

Why make it so predictable? Why would they think that anyone with a brain wouldn't guess it? Did they think they'd rule people out for being too obvious? I dunno. So many questions especially about the cia woman who could've killed Benjamin or Cassie or Shane so many times it just became a bit nonsensical why she'd even go to that much effort.

Too much made little sense, too much was predictable and too much was just a bit meh, season 2 I'd probably rate about 4/10 at best.

Good end as no lose ends, let the show die so KC can bang out more Harley Quinn episodes.

Fabulous end to a fabulous season

Warning: Spoilers
An excellent closeout to the season following Grace's traumatic suicide last week. It looked like it would be an uphill struggle with a lot of plot hanging, but all the threads reach a satisfying and believable conclusion.

The main plot finished quite predictably, since the person behind Cassie's framing has been telegraphed from early on. A follow-up chain of events, however, was completely unexpected, yet fit convincingly and credibly into the story. Megan's conclusion is acceptable, though it felt a little rushed and contrived.

Overall a superb second season, the mind-palace council of Cassies worked extremely well. Kaley Cuoco again shows that she is a more versatile and competent actress than some think her to be. The story was gripping throughout, presenting a thoroughly exciting, engaging and entertaining thriller.

The skies the limit for The Flight Attendant

Obviously I love the series and adore the entire cast. Fingers crossed there will be a Season 3 in the near future. All the accolades aside, did I miss something? Cassie's 'double' with the boyfriend:::who were they?

Good show, poor finale

Warning: Spoilers
What happened, it got very very predictable from the moment Cassie got into the car with the Feds.

That said i enjoyed this season and the actors were all amazing but the finale got predictable .

Pulling for a 3rd season because Of K. C and the rest of the cast but this episode could have been a lot better.

Episode 208

Warning: Spoilers
This season was mostly a disaster and this episode confirmed that. Not a lot of comedy, nothing exciting or shocking. The acting was pretty bad.

This second season may have been a mistake.
