The idea for "Crooked" was born when director Todd Thompson received an e-mail from a fan who, in his mid-forties, had found a way to turn his health around by forming a consistent flossing and brushing habit. After seeing one of Thompson's previous films (The Monster Under My Bed (2008)), he decided film was the best way to spread his message and teach the world about the importance of good dental hygiene.
Filmed over a period of three days in and around the town of Celebration, Florida.
A prosthetic, crooked, baby tooth had to be created and molded to fit actress Kendall Ganey's mouth. The tooth was crafted by her orthodontist, Dr. Steve Tinsworth, D.M.D. who also happened to be the first executive producer to sign-on and fund the project.
