The Shredded Body
claudio_carvalho6 October 2023
A garbage trunk driver summons the CSI investigators to see what is the liquid leaking out of it. Nick and Langston test and find that is human blood. When the truck dumps the shredded material, the CSI team find human flesh and parts of a credit card. Then they go to a shredding company that was responsible for the material, but they do not find any lead. The DNA does not provide any other lead, but they are able to read a magnetic strip on the card with the name of the victim, Larry Lamotte, and Greg recognizes him from television. They go to his company I. D. Preserve, and the chief of security Julius Kaplan introduces them to Larry, who is alive. When Julius is murdered with a gun shot in his head, the CSI investigate Larry Lamotte and other suspects.

"Bump and Grind" is a good, but gruesome episode of "CSI", with a plot with many twists. There are many suspects, but the killer in the end is totally unexpected. The investigation of the CSI is accurate with the remains of the victim, and Dr. Robbins is excellent in the performance. My vote is seven.

Hard to Watch

At times the gore in this show gets to me. I suppose the graphic evisceration results bring in a certain audience. I wish they could pull it back just a bit. It's OK if it is germane to the plot. This one takes it to the limit as a guy is pretty much made into a pile of pieces. The story itself is quite good with the Doc doing his magic. And the deduction shows the skills of these guys.

Leaves A Bad Taste In One's Mouth

Warning: Spoilers
Seems to me the title to this episode would have been more apt with the word "shredder" somehow in it, since that's what it deals with, unless the writers were thinking "bump off and grind up." Anyway, it begins with a very sick opening as some "chef" is torturing some poor soul and then forcing a fancy meal, which includes a cut-up credit card, an ear and assorted other objects you wouldn't want to swallow.

Soon, we find out that victim was then shot through the head and then put through one of those big shredding machines.

From that point, it's the usual who, what, how and why that the CSI team has to figure out, literally piece-by-piece. The only guy happy is Medical Examiner "Dr. Robbins" (Robert David Hall) who "loves a good challenge." Anyway, the story centers around something that affects us all: identify theft. It's an interesting episode.

In a side note: CSI boss "Ray Langston" receives a letter from prison. In it is just a kidney bean from "Nate Haskell." It shakes up the boss. Missing the previous season, I don't know the name but this "Haskell" must a very bad dude.
