This episode sums up everything that's frustrating about Home and Away. There's a few glimmers of quality but it's surrounded by so much dross that it's hard to find.Biggest piece of dross in the ongoing Aden/ Justin storyline, as characters' personalities and motivation seem to change on an almost scene by scene basis.Justin tries to drag Nicole into his plan to send Aden off to boot camp while he himself gets dragged even further into Aden's plan to cover up their father's death, after a half-thought-out visit to the police doesn't get the result he wanted.
After their storyline was actually halfway watchable last episode, Annie and Romeo sink back into childish nonsense here.We do at least get some decent interaction between Xavier and Romeo, although it's telling that Xavier gets all the funny lines. While the characters are written believably, it's hard for anyone over the age of thirteen to get involved in a relationship so shallow.
Leah and Elijah continue to behave in a way that's borderline out of character for both of them as they try to hide the fact that they've just jumped into bed from a visiting bishop.Yes, really.Inevitably, they don't manage it for very long.
