Happy 23rd birthday to the Harry Potter superstar whose constant gay advocacy is even sweeter because he clearly thinks for himself. Daniel Radcliffe, in my opinion, is one of the gay community's coolest celebrity allies, and there are infinite reasons to dig his intelligent, articulate approach to stardom and promoting equality. We number just 23 of them here. (I went light on the Potter references because I think we all understand what tremendous blockbusters they are.)
1. Equus, the great leap (gallop?) forward
We all remember when Daniel Radcliffe became a man -- a man who really loves horses. In 2007, he starred in a West End revival of Peter Shaffer's play, and in 2008 that production came to Broadway. Controversial role? Yes. But he showed a true seriousness of purpose, and that makes him an interesting actor outside the Harry Potter realm.
2. His response to gay rumors

The Stars of Harry Potter have promised excited fans that this summer's final big-screen instalment will be the biggest and best yet.
They were speaking at the National Movie Awards in London, where Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 - released on July 15 - was named Must See Movie of the Summer. Part 1 won the accolade for Best Fantasy film.
As the cast accepted the awards, producer David Heyman (pictured above) said of the upcoming Deathly Hallows Part 2: "What this one is, is the conclusion. We're finally coming to the end and Harry and Voldermort are going to go at it, finally, something we've been building to."
He added: "If the first film was in some ways more intimate, this is a real epic, operatic entertainment.
"And yet still there is what I love most about Harry Potter, for all its magic and all its fantasy: the tender,...

What did you think of her not so basic Lbd?
There’s no denying the fact that Gwyneth Paltrow has an enviable figure, but in case you forgot, she reminded us last night when she turned up at the National Movie Awards in London on May 11. Clad in a plunging black Roksainda dress she certainly gave us an eyeful!
While something so open could look cheap on most gals, Gwen’s dress is super chic — and I’m fascinated by the fact that she doesn’t even have to worry about a wardrobe malfunction! She finished off the frock with a pair of studded Christian Louboutin pumps.
What did you think of Gwyn’s get-up?

Rob and Kristen may appear to be one of the most low key and cool Hollywood couples, but according to one costar the two are both ‘idiots!’
Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart seem to be beloved not only by the general public, but also their costars! Their Twilight pal Jamie Campbell-Bower was interviewed at the National Movie Awards May 11 in London and when asked how it was to work with Rob joked: “Terrible, the guy’s an idiot.”
It wasn’t just Rob either, as when then asked about Kristen, Jamie again joked, “An idiot as well, they’re both awful.”
As for some Breaking Dawn scoop, Jamie told glamour.com about his role, as a Volturi in the upcoming flick: “You’re going to get to see just how evil and twisted the Volturi really are and we do some pretty awful things.”
So HollywoodLifers, do you think Jamie...

Two tickets to the skin show, please?! Gwyneth Paltrow flashed a whole lot of cleavage last night when she walked the red carpet at the National Movie Awards in London in a deep—and we mean deep—V-neck dress. Now that's how a lady gets attention (right, J.Lo?) when all eyes are on the glittery, glamorous Cannes Film Festival right now. But is the 38-year-old actress's barely there ensemble too much? A little sexiness on the red carpet is always appreciated, but this Roksanda Ilincic Lbd is leaving nothing to the imagination. Yikes! (Her Louboutin stilettos, though, are pretty fabulous.) What do you think, is Gwynnie's dare-to-bare getup cleavetastic or...

'The King's Speech' was the big winner at the 2011 L'Oreal Paris National Movie Awards last night (11.05.11). The British film - which stars Colin Firth as the stuttering British King George VI - collected three of the coveted awards, including Drama and Performance of the Year, after being voted for by the public. Gwyneth Paltrow attended the ceremony at London's Wembley Arena to hand over the film's third award for Special Recognition to actor Geoffrey Rush and director Tom Hooper - although Colin, who won Performance of the Year, wasn't able to collect his award himself.

Gwyneth Paltrow posed backstage at today's National Movie Awards in London. She stepped out for the event in a super low-cut black dress and nude heels after covering up in a hot pink Prada at last year's show. Gwyneth was back out on the town following a fun girls' dinner with Gwen Stefani last night. The busy moms have apparently been spending time together with their families while Gwen and her crew are visiting the UK. Gwen could be a source of advice for Gwyneth, since the actress has been considering recording her own album or even singing on a track with British band Jls. Gwyneth might have been able to cross paths today with the Jls boys, since they were also on hand at the show to perform. View Slideshow ›...

A few weeks ago, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, Joshua Jackson and Chris Rock all showed up at the National Movie Awards in England. According to unconfirmed rumors, there was a little friction between Cruise and Jackson -- because Josh used to date Tom's current wife Katie Holmes. Now, on 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10Pm Et on BBC America), two of the participants show up to discuss the controversy.
Supposedly, Tom wanted his wife kept far, far away from ex-boyfriend Jackson. In this clip, Josh and Chris Rock don't exactly address that -- though they do touch on the apparent oddness of Tom Cruise. Adding to the rumors that Tom wanted Katie kept away far from her ex-boyfriend is this statement by Chris Rock: "They cleared out everything [at the awards show]. ...'Tom Cruise is here.'" Jackson also confirmed that he did not get to talk to Katie Holmes.
