There's a moment, somewhere around the middle of this episode, where you wonder what exactly the writers think they're trying to say.Do they expect us to be on Paul's side?Do they expect us to think that because he saved India it doesn't matter that he nearly killed Donna? Are we meant to take Rebecca's claims that he wouldn't hurt their family at face value, even though he tried to frame Declan?Or see her for the naive woman she is?Are we meant to believe that Declan has caused all the trouble by blowing the whistle on Paul's illegal activities or recognise Paul as a crook who's making excuses? This show has badly lost its way.
More enjoyable is the subplot involving Lyn and Terry, seeing Callum, Sophie and Charlie as a rather cute comedy chorus, while Steph is blunt with Lyn without coming across as unlikeable.Terry is fast becoming one of the best new additions and the potential pairing between him and Lyn could be fun.
