- Clark opens up to Lois about his ongoing struggle with visions and admits that there is only one person who might be able to help; tensions being to rise with Lois and Chrissy; Sarah breaks plans with Jordan to spend time with Natalie.
- Clark and Jordan go to Tal's Fortress with Tal to consult with the one person who can help Clark figure out the source of the visions he's been having. Meanwhile, Jon realize that something is up with his teammate Timmy, Lois and John work together to find the source of the tremors, and Sarah and Nat bond over the Firebird.—Gislef
- Lois is making a large breakfast, and the rest of the family comes. John and Nat come in to join them, and John thanks Jon for lending Nat his room. Everyone sits down to eat, and things are still awkward between Lois and Nat. Clark has a flash of the visions that have been plaguing him and collapses, and he finally snaps out of it. Lois asks what he was experiencing.
Clark talks to Lois and John privately, and tells them about the visions. Once John leaves to take the kids to school, Clark describes how he sees a cave-in and hears screaming. Lois wonders if it's residual memories from Tal, and points out that other people also had Kryptonian consciousnesses put inside them. They worry about Jordan, who was similarly possessed, and Clark says that there's only one person who would know for sure.
In Smallville, Kyle and Lana are unloading their truck and setting up for one of Daniel's campaign stops at a diner. Mayor Dean comes out and cheerfully says that he's looking forward to some competition for the first time in years, but the couple don't believe it. Once Dean moves on, Lana tells Kyle she can't wait for Daniel to crush Dena.
At the high school, Jon and Candice are kissing in the hallway. Two of the team players make fun of Jon as they pass, and one of them, Timmy Ryan, shoving past Jordan at his locker. Jordan goes to Sarah at her locker and asks if she wants to go to lunch with him. She readily agrees. At lunch, they're talking when Nat comes by. Jordan introduces Sarah to her, and Nat sits down with them. He says that Nat will be staying with them, and Nat says that she's taking shop class. Jordan talks about the car Kyle is working on with Sarah, and Nat takes an interest. Nat offers some assistance while Jordan looks on.
At the Gazette, Chrissy is listening to a podcast audio file about Ally Alliston, a self-help guru. Lois comes in, and Chrissy tells her that the article Lois wrote about Alliston years ago has come back up, and it's about journalists who abuse their power for personal gain. Lois insists that Allison is a cult leader who was responsible for a woman's death, and Chrissy points out that Alliston was never convicted. Alliston has accused Lois of coercing some of her sources, and Lois insists that everyone was vetted and willing. She admits that she had a family member in the cult, but disclosed that in the article. Lois insists that it will blow over, and Chrissy drops the matter. They go off to conduct an interview with the chief of operations, Dr. Faulkner.
Superman flies to a prison in the mountains and goes in. The interior is lit with red sunlight, to keep Tal powerless. He asks Tal about the reeradication process, and asks if there's lingering effects if a host rejects a Kryptonian consciousness, such as visions. Tal says that he never experience such effects, and asks Superman to fly him to his fortress. He points out that he's powerless since John used the flare bomb on him, and tells his brother that he'll see him soon as Superman leaves.
At the mines run by Amertek, Lois and Chrissy meet with the seismologist, Dr. Faulkner, and says the earthquake wasn't caused by her team. She says that she's and her team are trying to get to the bottom of it. Lois asks Faulkner why Amertek hired a seismologist as their chief of operations, and Faulkner sways that she's there as a geologist. She admits that she's clearing the mines of X-Kryptonite, and it doesn't explain the earthquakes. A miner comes up and calls Faulkner away, and Faulkner tells the reporters that she'll call them when she find anything. Once they're alone Lois asks Chrissy to find a seismologist who can determine what is causing the tremors. Meanwhile, she'll talk to another source.
The next day at the diner, Daniel finally comes in as everyone waiting applauds. He tells Lana that he needs to talk to her, and tells her privately that he's dropping out of the race because he got a job offer in a different county. Lana insists that Daniel can beat Dean, and Daniel says that his family needs hi. Kyle listens in as Lana says that she understands. Daniel tells the others gathered that he's dropping out.
At school, Jordan runs into Sarah and asks if she wants to go to the diner with him. She says that she forgot their date and asked Nat if she wanted to come over after school to work on the car. Nat comes over, and Sarah invites Jordan to join them. He declines and walks off.
At the Kent farm, John is in his room looking at photos of his family. Lois comes and admits that breakfast was a bust, and John tells her to be herself. The only way to get Nat to open is up is to get to know her, and Lois asks John for his help figuring out what caused the earthquake. John says that he can't be pulled into anything dangerous and has to be a full-time father for Nat, and Lois promises that it'll be a one-time thing.
Clark arrives and tells Lois that Tal isn't going to be helpful. John says that he's going to help Lois, and Clark hears gunshots from men holding hostages in an airplane hangar. He flies to the hangar, and knocks out the gunmen firing at the agents who arrives. The gunman breathes in an orange gas from a tank and punches Superman back. As the gunman advances on Superman, Superman is overwhelmed by more visions and the gunman slams him into the floor repeatedly. Three figures wearing the Army uniforms fly in and knock the gunman out, and one of them, Tag Harris, checks on Superman. The other two look over at Superman passes out.
Later at the DoD, Mitch meets with Superman and asks him what happened. Mitch tells Superman that if he's not going to be part of his team, Superman doesn't have free rein anymore. He explains that the gunman is a guns-runner who stole a lot of X-Kryptonite from the mines before the government got Amertek in there, and sold the X-K. Mitch tells Superman that if he's not part of his team, he's on his own. He hopes Superman figures out the visions, because Superman is more of a liability than a hero. Superman tells Mitch that Tag is barely 18, but Mitch doesn't care and leaves.
John sets up a seisometer at the mines and looks at the nearby Lois, and remembers his wife. She comes over and asks how the equipment work, and he explains. John says that they have to wait until the next earthquake, and they go to John's nearby RV.
At the Cushing house, Kyle and Lana go over potential candidate files but can't come up with anyone. Lana points out that Dean hasn't done anything for Smallville in the 10 years that he's been mayor, and has taken credit for the post-Kryptonian windfall. Kyle admits that small-town politics are messy business, and leaves for work.
At the high school, Coach Gaines gives a pep talk to the exercising players. Timmy is lifting heavy weights as the other players cheer him on, and Jon watches.
At the farm, Jordan is looking at photos of Sarah on his phone. Clark arrives and says that he's going to Tal's fortress, and thinks Tal can help him. Jordan warns against it, in case Tal has booby traps, and asks to go with his father to watch his back. He admits that things with Sarah aren't going so great and wants to feel useful.
Superman and Jordan take Tal to the latter's Fortress, and Tal extracts a crystal from the wall and puts it into a socket. A hologram of Lara appears and greets Kal, who introduces Jordan to his grandmother. Tal tells Lara who he was, and Lara is relieved that both of her sons are alive and together. When Tal says that the consciousness of Lara was uploaded before the destruction of Krypton, Lara demands an explanation and Tal tells his mother that he tried to resurrection Krypton but lost. Lara is shocked that Tal used the Eradicator on the people of Earth, and admits that she never have designed the machine and calls Tal a "monster".
Tal tells Lara that he left her in the hands of a monster, and Lara says that it wasn't her decision, and she had no knowledge of Tal's existence until it was too late. She explains that she didn't give birth to Tal, and all the children on Krypton were genetically engineer. Tal doesn't believe Lara tried to get to him and accuses her of not loving him, but Lara insists that he love for Tal has always been real, and now has given them an opportunity to be together. Tal refuses her offer, and tells Lara that Kal needs her help. Lara asks Kal what the matter is, and Kal explains about the vision of the destruction of Krypton. Lara says that she can provide answers and leads Kal off.
In the Cushing garage, Nat and Sarah work on the Firebird. Nat tells Sarah that there's nothing she can't fix, and spend her free time in their bunker learning mechanics. Sarah picks up on the word "bunker" and asks if Nat and John are doomsday preppers. Nat says that they call John's shop "the bunker", and asks what's going on between Sarah and Jordan. Sarah asks if Jordan said something, and then asks if Nat ever had a secret. Nat advises Sarah to tell Jordan her secret if she can, or get better at hiding it. Nat fixes the engine and starts the engine.
While they wait in John's RV, he brings Lois her favorite drink. He figures being back with Lois is the best thing for Nat, and Lois asks how John feels. He assures her that he'll make the adjustment, just as the sensor picks up small tremors coming from the mines. They go to check the sensors.
Lara talks to Kal privately and says that Jordan reminds him of her husband, and Kal tells her that the hologram consciousness of Jor-El was proud of both boys. Meanwhile, Tal and Jordan watch and Tal tells the boy how Lara favors Kal. Jordan says that his Jon is probably stronger than Tal now. Meanwhile, Kal has another vision and collapses, and Jordan goes to him.
At the mines, the tremors increase.
Talk breaks his shackles and admits that he lied about losing his powers. He blasts Kal back with his heat vision, and Jordan uses his heat vision on his uncle and tells him to stay back.
John checks the exterior sensor and confirms the vibrations aren't seismic. In the tunnels, the three members of the Amertek crew feel the vibrations and realize there's something down there. Whatever it is pulls two of them off into the darkness, then comes after the leader, Joe, as Faulkner watches via the surveillance cameras.
Jordan and Tal fight hand-to-hand, and Tal finally throws Jordan away. Lara admits that she doesn't know what Tal has been through, but insists that there's good in Tal's heart. She begs him to let Jordan go,
Joe prepares the remote for the explosives and tells Faulkner to get everyone else away from the mines. He sets off the explosives and the mines collapse and the cameras go dead. Up above, John and Lois realize that it's over but John has never seen anything like the readings.
Kal recovers and attacks Tal, yelling at him to never touch Jordan. He beats Tal unconscious and then checks on Jordan. Lara tells Kal that he knows what's wrong with him,
When Kal takes Tal back to the prison, Tal says that he reunited Clark with his biological mother, and life only has the illusion of choice. Kal disagrees, and says that Lara believes that there is still good in Tal. Tal asks if Kal feels the same. Considering, Superman says that he doesn't but he wants to, then turns and walks out.
Chrissy is at her desk when Lois says that the vibration shaking Smallville aren't earthquakes but something causing the tremors. Lois' partner tells her that Alliston's podcast went viral, and one of Lois' sources on the story recanted what they told Lois. Lois doesn't believe it, but Chrissy tells her that some subscribers are already calling. She asks who Lois' family members was. When Lois doesn't say anything, Chrissy points out that if Lois goes down, she'll go down as well. Lois finally says that it was her sister Lucy, and explains that everything Lucy had was invested in Alliston. When Alliston told Lucy to go find herself, Lucy did so by swallowing a bottle of pills and almost drowning in the bathtub. Lois pulled her sister out.
When Chrissy apologizes, Lois says that Lucy is still alive but another family wasn't so lucky. Chrissy asks Lois if she's sure everything Lucy told her was true, and Lois insists that she is but isn't sure if Lucy will back her up now. They haven't talked since the article came out, and Chrissy warns that if Lucy changes her story, the public will never believe Lois' story.
That night at their home, Kyle comes in and tells Lana that they have to talk and gives her a paper with the signature of the entire Smallville fire department, supporting Lana for mayor. Kyle tells Lana that she's the one the town cares about, and she cares about Smallville. They both know that she can beat Dean, and Lana agrees. She says that she's filled out the paperwork making her candidacy official, and Kyle figures she'll win. They kiss and Lana thanks Kyle for his faith.
Jordan goes into Jon's room to tell him about the day he's had and how he fought Tal Before he can, Jon tells him that Timmy is on something. Jordan says that he landed a couple of blows, and figures he could have taken Tal. As Jon congratulates him, Nat comes in and when Jordan asks about Sarah, Nat tells him that Sarah is out on the front porch.
Jordan goes out and joins Sarah, and asks if he did something wrong. Sarah tells him that kissed someone at camp, Aubrey, and she thought they were just friends and the kiss happened. She says that it just happened and it doesn't mean anything. Jordan thanks Sarah for telling him and goes inside.
Later, Lois, John, and Clark talk. Clark says that he took Jordan to Tal's Fortress. Clark says that his visions were triggered by interdimensional kinesis, and some other being is causing the visions. He doesn't know how he can stop the visions. John confirms that Clark has had the same number of visions as the tremors and they occurred at the same time. They figure whatever is in the mines are causing the visions.
Faulkner calls someone and says that something came through, and it's more powerful than they hoped.
