The opening sequence is an homage to the 1960s spy show.- While the "Flaming Sword" kept Veracruz's men pinned down in the valley, one of the farmers manages to tag one of the Colombian soldiers. Sam compliments him saying "Good Shot Mando! Don't get cocky." This is reminiscent of what Han Solo said to Luke Skywalker during their escape from the Death Star.
