Year 2191, the whole galaxy stands unwittingly on the brink of war, with an uneasy peace barely maintained by the Inter-Planetary Corps (IPC), a peace-keeping force founded to police the mass of stellar colonies founded in the stampede to escape an overpopulated Earth.
From primitive, careful and slow colonisation of the galaxy, to a breakthrough leading to relatively easy interstellar travel brought a wave of humans fleeing a claustrophobic earth to arrive and settle in the relative free existing colonies, and those that were founded by the newcomers flooding out from Earth.
Two elite members of the IPC return from an uneventful six month patrol of the outer galactic rim as they receive orders to check out a space-station that had gone dark. ISRC-4, orbiting the stellar giant Gianor, was an high-security space research centre that had ceased transmitting on all federation wavebands. It was assumed to have revolted against its authorities.
However, it turns out to house something entirely different then rebellious colonists.
