- Just when it seems things can't get worse, Batwoman's identity is once again at risk of being exposed; some of Gotham's most villainous unite; Sophie joins Luke on a mission; Alice gets into Mary's head.
- While Marquis pays a visit to Arkham and gets some new recruits, Victor Zsasz come after Jada as she has a reunion with Ryan. Mary and Alice look for Joker's old toymaker to repair the buzzer that she made for the villain. Batwing and Sophie break into Wayne Tower to find incriminating evidence on Marquis.—Gislef
- Batwoman drives through Gotham, listening to Vesper on the radio talking about Jada's recent claim that Batwoman is responsible for the villain items unleashed on the city. Luke calls Batwoman and tells her that a sewer line is blocked, flooding the area around Mary's clinic including where Marquis is being kept.
Batwoman goes there and enters the sewers with Mary, and confirms that Marquis is gone and left a mechanized doll behind. It plays a recording of Marquis, saying that now that he knows Batwoman's identity, he can hurt them one by one.
As Mary cleans up, she blames herself for what happened. She blames herself for killing the hunter and telling Marquis who Ryan is, and Ryan assures Mary that it's okay. Mary doesn't see it that way and figures that she's put all of their lives in danger, and she's blame to everyone that gets hurt. Ryan tells Mary that it was the Poison Ivy infection's fault, and Mary wonders how they'll stop Marquis. Her friend tells her that they'll undo the damage that Joker did to Marquis's brain
Later at the Hold Out, Luke tells the others that he can't fix the buzzer. He asks Mary if she knows where the AI of his father is, figuring it can give them some answers. Mary remembers that she gave it to Marquis the night of the party, and Alice says that the person who built the buzzer can fix it.
They confirm that Joker's "toymaker" is Kiki Roulette. When Batman captured Joker, Kiki evaded capture and disappeared. They check Kiki's rare glasses prescription and Luke gets the address of a halfway house of where someone bought glasses. Mary insists on going, claiming that a doctor should be involved. Ryan tells Alice to go with Mary, figuring that Marquis doesn't know that their no longer enemies of the team. She tells Luke and Sophie to lay low, while she tracks down Marquis.
Sophie goes after Ryan and accuses her of pushing Sophie away after they kissed. Ryan insists that it isn't true, and Sophie says that she doesn't know where they stand. She tells Sophie that they need to focus on finding on finding Marquis, and Luke joins them and says that Marquis is on every channel.
Marquis is giving a press conference at Arkham, saying that the real insanity is Batwoman and she has no accountability. He says that the city should at least know Batwoman's real name, then tells the reporters that he'll restore sanity by pouring millions of money into Arkham so people like Batwoman get the help they desperately need. Ryan wonders why Marquis didn't out her, and figures that there's some reason other than Marquis destroying her or the symbol of the Bat. Luke figures they need to use video of Marquis's crimes to expose who he really is. Ryan points out that Marquis wiped the videos, but remembers that Jada has some leverage over Marquis that keeps her safe... and can take down the city.
The Arkham chairman tours Arkham with Marquis, and objects to his plan to release the inmates on "compassionate non-confinement." The chairman says that the inmates are the worst of the worst, and Marquis tells the chairman that's who he wants to meet.
Victor Zsasz is in his cell exercising when Marquis comes in. Marquis says that he's big fan of Victor and was hoping Victor wants to add to his resume.
Mary and Alice drive to the halfway house, and Mary asks Alice if it ever gets easier with what she's done. Alice tells Mary that what happened is Mary's fault, and Mary wonders what she does now. Her half-sister tells Mary to bury her feelings and the guilt goes away. Mary insists that she's not a sociopath, and Alice goes up the front door. Mary joins her and they ask the house mother about Kiki, and the woman says that Kiki left them and doesn't know where she is now. Mary is ready to leave, but Alice draws her knife and figures the woman is Kiki.
Luke figures that he can break into Wayne Tower and get his father's AI. Sophie want to go with him, but Luke refuses to endanger Sophie. Sophie admits that she kissed Ryan, and then Ryan blew her off despite her experience. Luke consents to going with her.
Ryan goes to Jada's office, and Jada says that Batwoman provoked Marquis. Ryan points out that Jada doesn't seem concerned about being Marquis's target, and Jada says that she and her son have an "arrangement". Ryan asks if the arrangement has anything to do with the videos Jada has of Marquis's crimes, and that Jada should stop protecting Marquis because the videos won't stop him. A guard comes in and tells Jada that a man is there to see her. Victor comes in and shoots the guard dead, and then tells Jada that she doesn't have much time left.
Victor recognizes Ryan and cheerfully greets her, and has Jada open her safe and give him the tape. He offers Ryan congratulations on her recent "promotion", and then prepares to shoot Jada. She offers to triple her pay, and Victor points out that if he kills her Marquis, Marquis will inherit her money and pay him triple. Jada asks Victor to let her daughter dead, and when Victor wonders what she means, Ryan explains that Jada is her biological mother. Victor says there is a chance for a last-minute rescue of Batwoman comes to save them, and he left a note for her on the Batsignal at Marquis's orders. He'll give Batwoman hour to get there, before he kills them.
Alice and Mary show Kiki the buzzer, and when they explain that they want to use it to cure one of Joker's victims, Kiki realizes that they're talking about Marquis. Kiki explains that the buzzer was designed to deaden the empathy parts of the brain, and says that a jolt to a psychotic brain might restore the damaged part. She says that the parts are at Joker's old workshop, and she doesn't want to go back to her old life. Alice figures that it's an act, and Kiki says that she's spent over a decade trying to make up for the damage she's done... and agrees to fix the buzzer.
Jada tells Victor that Batwoman's not coming, and points out that there's bad blood between them. She insists that she didn't abandon her doctor, and Ryan points out that Jada paid a doctor $2 million to do it for her. Jada says that it was a different time, and she saw it as an opportunity give Ryan a loving home. The money was supposed to go to the parents to make sure Ryan wanted for nothing, but the doctor kept it for himself. She didn't tell Ryan earlier because she trying to push Ryan away to protect her from Marquis. Victor thanks them both for letting him be a part of the "special moment", and the hour runs out.
Ryan draws a hidden knife and throws it into Victor's shoulder. He pulls it out and fight Ryan, She takes him down, and Jada figures from Ryan's fighting expertise that she's Batwoman.
The trio go to Joker's workshop and Kiki works on the buzzer at her old worktable. When Mary asks Kiki how she moves on from the people she helped kill, Kiki tells her that she didn't and she can only live with the guilt every day. Her therapist told her that she had to accept responsibility for what she did.
Batwing and Sophie break into Wayne Tower, while talking about Sophie's relationship with Ryan. Sophie finds the AI, and Luke plugs it into his helmet. She figures that they should access Marquis's laptop there.
Jada calls the police to take Victor away, and he says that he was touched by Jada and Ryan. Once the others leave, Jada asks Ryan where they go from there. Ryan points out that all Jada has done is come after everything good where she is, and asks Jada if she ever thought she has. Jada says that she did, but Ryan points out that she didn't care enough to check up on her. Ryan tells her biological mother that rather than the $2 million, she would have a wanted a mother who cared enough to check up on her. Instead she had to wait 14 years for any of that. Jada admits that Ryan is right, and Ryan achieve what she did without Jada's involvement, while Marcus turned out evil despite Jada giving him everything. She figures that the great thing she ever did for Ryan was stay out of her life.
Sophie calls Ryan with the information on the laptop, which shows that Marquis is using Arkham inmates as his personal security force, and he's siccing Victor on Ryan and Jada. Ryan tells Sophie that she's already dealt with Victor, and complains that Sophie broke into Wayne Tower despite her orders for Sophie to lay low. Sophie says Ryan isn't her keeper, and Batwing points out that the laptop records show that Marquis has been in contact with Kiki.
At the workshop, Kiki tells Mary that she got the buzzer working, but there's only charge in it for one zap. Kiki chuckles and says that it's bad news, and she's isn't sure how much longer Marquis needs them alive anymore. She chuckles, and Alice grabs her gun and shoots it at Kiki, but discovers that Kiki has replaced it with a bang-flag gun. Men come in and train guns on Alice and Mary.
Ryan drives to Mary and Alice, while Marquis and more of his men confront Sophie and Batwing.
The men and Kiki take Mary and Alice out, and Kiki tells Mary that her therapist was Harleen Quinzel, and Kiki didn't want to do what she was advised. Marquis calls and thanks her for getting him the buzzer. She tells him that there's one charge left, and Batwoman arrives and confronts Kiki, who puts Marquis on. Batwoman tells him that Victor didn't kill Jada, and Marquis threatens to reveal Ryan's identity to the world. Batwoman figures that Marquis won't reveal her identity because it would also show how much she accomplished with nothing, while Marquis didn't. Marquis concedes the point and says that he has Sophie and Batwing.
Batwoman asks Marquis what he wants, and says that he wants to hurt the people she cares about one at a time. Sophie reminds Batwoman that she said she could take care of herself, and shoots Marcus with her grappling gun. Batwing attacks the other men, and Batwoman attacks the men with Kiki. Alice and Mary join in, while Batwing and Sophie take out their opponents while Kiki runs.
Later, Batwoman joins Jada at the Batsignal. She tells Jada that Marquis has the marker and is sorry she didn't stop him. Jada says that she failed Ryan and Marquis. Batwoman removes her mask, and Jada assures Ryan that she loved her and did think about her every day. She had to bury her feelings so they wouldn't crush her, and put up an emotional wall.
Luke takes the AI to his diagnostic computer, and says that he figured out he didn't need the suit to be a hero. The AI agree, and says that it's proud of Luke.
Marquis meets with Kiki, who brings him Joker's equipment. She shows him the buzzer and they share a laugh.
Mary goes alone to the subway train Alice is using as a base, and tells her half-sister that she's going to the wake for the hunter she killed. Mary figures that she has to do the hard work to make amends, or she's no better than Kiki. She has a bug for Alice, to go with her. Alice takes the bag but says that she can't leave Gotham yet. She says that she doesn't want to be a sociopath anymore. Mary offers to help her, and Alice says that she wants the buzzer, and she needs it more than Mary and the team.
Ryan invites Sophie to the Hold Out, offers her a drink, and says that she wants to be real with Sophie. She keeps a lot of people at arm's length because she's afraid of losing them. Sophie tells Ryan that she won't push, and Ryan says that Sophie won't have to and kisses her. The two of them end up in the bedroom.
