- Det. Steve McGarrett: Book 'em, Danno.
- Det. Danny Williams: Really? Is that going to be a thing now?
- Det. Steve McGarrett: You don't like it?
- Det. Danny Williams: I don't like it.
- Det. Steve McGarrett: I think it's catchy.
- Det. Danny Williams: [to McGarrett] If you're going to be one of those "shoot first, ask questions later" types, I would like to be consulted, so I'll know when to duck.
- Danny 'Danno' Williams: Where you going?
- Steve McGarrett: *We* are going to Roland's house, okay? These guys are thieves. I want to know what they're after.
- Danny 'Danno' Williams: That way you're going?
- Steve McGarrett: [McGarrett realizes he's going in the wrong direction and turns around. As he passes Danny] Shut up.
- Adam 'Toast' Charles: Whoa. Kidnap dude's got a sweet set up.
- Steve McGarrett: Yo! Take your time, Toast. I mean it's - it's just national security.
- Adam 'Toast' Charles: I'll take my time and do it right... Can I smoke in here, guys?
- Steve McGarrett, Danny 'Danno' Williams: No!
- Det. Steve McGarrett: No one in Hawaii wears a tie.
- Det. Danny Williams: Oh, I'm sorry. I like to look like a professional.
- Det. Steve McGarrett: Professional what?
- Det. Danny Williams: Okay, this is my favorite tie. Grace gave me this tie for Father's Day. Oh, and also, just so you know, back in Jersey and every normal city in this country, this is what a detective looks like.
- Det. Steve McGarrett: Really?
- Det. Danny Williams: Yeah, really.
- Det. Steve McGarrett: Yeah. Shirt, tie, doughnut crumbs. You missed a spot.
- [Danny brushes crumbs off his shirt]
- Det. Steve McGarrett: You're never gonna fit in here looking like you're from the mainland.
- Det. Danny Williams: Who says I want to fit in? I don't wanna fit in. I wanna look like I'm from the mainland. Okay, I've got eighty-seven homicide cases under my belt looking like this.
- Det. Steve McGarrett: Not in 110 degree weather, you don't. I'm just saying.
- Det. Danny Williams: I'm not taking off the tie.
- Det. Steve McGarrett: Book him, Danno.
- Det. Danny Williams: Oh, is this going to be like a "thing" now?
- Det. Steve McGarrett: What, you don't like it?
- Det. Danny Williams: No, I don't like it.
- Det. Steve McGarrett: I think it's catchy.
- Danny 'Danno' Williams: I think if we can get our eyes on our people, we go in hot. Is that what you would do?
- Steve McGarrett: Yes. That is what I would do. See? This is - a partnership.
- Danny 'Danno' Williams: It's like pulling teeth, you know that?
- Jack McGarrett: [On a tape] When he was 5 years old, I asked my son Steve what he wanted to be when he grew up. He said "I want to be a cop, dad, like you." I told him to be anything but that. The life of a cop is - is not easy. It's not that I'm not proud of the work I did. But more than anything, I have - I have regrets. The toll it took on my family, the way it hurt them. It's uh, it's something I think about everyday. Now, uh, I'm alone here. Losing my wife was almost unbearable. Giving up my kids, that uh, that just broke me. I'm so proud of them, but they'd never know it. I've missed so much of their lives. Watching them growing up and all. I guess this is the way it has to be until I figure this out.
- Steve McGarrett: [to Kona] I'm sorry you were put in danger today. We care for each other like a family. So please know, we'll do everything we can to protect you.
- Danny 'Danno' Williams: [Giving Kona a medal] He's the Patron Saint...
- Kono Kalakaua: Of Law Enforcement.
- Danny 'Danno' Williams: No.
- Kono Kalakaua: I've see cops wear 'em.
- Danny 'Danno' Williams: Pretty sure with that roundhouse kick, you're never gonna need it. My Sergeant gave me one when I graduated from the academy. I've always kept it on me. It's always kept me safe - that is until I met him.
- [Indicating McGarrett]
- Chin Ho Kelly: [Giving Kona an engraved flashlight] You really proved yourself out there today. You've earned this... For the record, I wouldn't have missed your graduation for anything... Now raise your right hand.
- [Kona raises her right hand]
- Chin Ho Kelly: I solemnly swear to faithfully support the Constitution and laws of the United States of America and the State of Hawaii.
- Kono Kalakaua: I solemnly swear to faithfully support the laws and the Constitution...
- [after Danno walks into his house unannounced]
- Det. Steve McGarrett: What is it with you and walking into people's houses?
- Steve McGarrett: You're never gonna fit in here looking like you're from the mainland.
- Danny 'Danno' Williams: Who says I want to fit in? I don't want to fit in. I want to look like I'm from the mainland. Okay? I got 87 homicide cases under my belt looking like this.
- Steve McGarrett: Not in 110 degree weather you dont't. I'm just saying.
- Kono Kalakaua: Come on, you're going to make it to my graduation, right?
- Chin Ho Kelly: I don't think that's such a good idea. Between our family and HPD.
- Kono Kalakaua: I don't care what they think. You're the reason I became a cop.
- Chin Ho Kelly: Well, a ceremony doesn't make a cop. Doing the job makes a cop.
- Chin Ho Kelly: Well, you're cutting it kind of close. You might miss your graduation.
- Kono Kalakaua: No worries. You become a cop by doing the work, not walking across a stage, right? Good news. You're off the hook. You don't have to be there.
