Sbs is relaunching Sbs 2 in April as a youth-oriented, multi-platform channel.
It is the first rebrand since the channel (then called Sbs Two) was launched in June 2009. Working under severe budget-constraints, it broadcast (and re-broadcast) a similar mix of main channel content including world film, drama, documentaries, international news and sport. However, Sbs finally received a major funding boost from the government in 2012 allowing chief executive Michael Ebeid to begin a process to revitalise the public broadcaster..
Sbs 2 now plans to focus on audiences aged 16-39 with a passion for emerging cultural ideas and experiences. Its content will include the channel.s first commissioned program - a 15-minute daily news and current affairs program - and dedicated sport programming.
It will also launch "Back 2 Back" episode viewing - where viewers get to watch an entire series of selected new programs via Sbs On Demand before broadcast on Sbs 2.

NBC The titular star of “Betty White’s Off Their Rockers”
From Super Bowl commercials to “Saturday Night Live” to “The Lorax,” Betty White has been everywhere in recent years. You might call it a late-career surge, but that would imply that the 90-year-old actress has endured a career lull along the way. “The schedule has gotten pretty jammed,” says Ms. White–who insists that you call her Betty. “There just doesn’t seem to be a day off anymore.

Diane Haithman is contributing to Deadline’s TCA coverage. The troubled NBC network will be taking on more serious issues later in the day, but it kicked off its TCA sessions in Pasadena today with a breakfast with the ubiquitous Betty White, 89, who is adding to her work schedule on TV Land’s sitcom Hot In Cleveland by hosting and executive producing the new NBC reality show Betty White’s Off Their Rockers. The show is about the elder generation pulling pranks on unsuspecting members of the younger generation. It is adapted from the International Emmy-winning Belgium series Benidorm Bastards. As usual, this popular member of TV’s least desirable demographic was full of quips, including this reply to a question about whether there’s anything the soon-to-be 90 actress still wants to do: “I’m not going to say Robert Redford, as much as you might expect it.” The network...

Remember when Betty White wasn't cool? Of course you don't. Betty White has always been cool.
What amazes us is how much fun she's still having as a real-life golden girl. A little less than two years ago, when the Facebook campaign to get White as host of Saturday Night Live started, fans were concerned that she wasn't up to it. It would wear out the poor girl. As if the 88-year-old woman who took on Jimmy Fallon in beer pong would faint dead away in the middle of a 90-minute live show.
Then, as The Mary Sue said, "She was in basically every single sketch and went on to party 'til the rise of the morning sun and score the show some huge ratings." Most impressive of all, she held her own with some very strong former SNL cast members including Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. She was raunchy — and damn funny.
