Sheryl Crow has released a new single, “Evolution.” The song is the title track off the musician’s forthcoming 11th studio LP, out March 29 via The Valory Music Group, and grapples with the future impact of artificial intelligence on humanity and the planet.
“Stephen Hawking worried that A.I. would replace humans,” Crow said in a statement. “As a mom, I want to leave a better world for my children, a healthier planet — is A.I. going to be a benevolent partner in these goals or not? It’s unsettling,...

The popular pop-rock artistes Jonas Brothers have teamed up with country singer Bailey Zimmerman and released their new collaborative single ‘Strong Enough’.
Infusing the band’s traditional pop melodies with a dose of Zimmerman’s Americana style, the four have prepared something which is pretty strong.
There isn’t a whole lot to the song as it primarily mixes in basic Americana (or country-rock) melodies of Zimmerman with the pop material of Jonas Brothers.
Each of the four members adds in their own vocal melodies, but while Zimmerman’s vocals are left largely untouched, the Jonas Brothers’ vocals are heavily laced with electronic sampling. This makes the Jonas Brothers’ vocals seem like a very mixed up new entity while Zimmerman sounds like himself.
As far as the composition goes, there are some very soft Americana melodies featuring a lot of country-style strumming combined with a lot of electronic pop. The rock part is small,...

It was a few minutes past midnight when Missy Elliott stepped up to the podium at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center and cemented her place in history as the first female hip-hop artist to enter the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She’d spent the past four hours witnessing speeches and performances from acts across the vast spectrum of rock, including Willie Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Elton John, Stevie Nicks, and Olivia Rodrigo. Near the end of her speech, tears started to flow as the gravity of the moment hit her seemingly all at once.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame welcomed Sheryl Crow with a fellow inductee and one of her biggest young fans as Stevie Nicks and Olivia Rodrigo both performed the singer’s hits at the 2023 induction ceremony.
The evening kicked off with Rodrigo assisting Crow on her 1996 hit “If It Makes You Happy.” The duo — who recently performed the song together at Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe — traded off verses, with Crow on electric guitar and Rodrigo on acoustic.

Olivia Rodrigo, Stevie Nicks, and Peter Frampton helped Sheryl Crow celebrate her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by performing with the legend on stage.
To kick off the show, Rodrigo joined Crow for a performance of “It Makes You Happy.” Nicks then appeared with Crow for “Strong Enough” and “Everyday Is a Winding Road,” the latter of which also featured Frampton on guitar.
Actress Laura Dern introduced Crow prior to a video montage featuring testimonials from Rodrigo, Nicks, and Maren Morris. “She mapped out the chapters of our lives and has continued to be a multi-generational muse for everything we feel, always discovering a newness to reflect on in herself and in us,” Dern proclaimed. “With success came massive sales, numerous awards. But Sheryl, she makes art because she has to. For her, success has never been measured outside herself.”
Dern also shared remarks from Brandi Carlile,...

Chicago – Everyday is a Winding Road, as pop-rocker Sheryl Crow once reminded us. But one of her recent days included the announcement that Ms. Crow was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. The new class will be inducted on November 3rd, 2023.
Sheryl Suzanne Crow was born in Missouri, and played in a band while attending the University of Missouri. She took a job as a music teacher after graduation, in order to sing in bands on the weekends. An early collaboration with a Missouri record producer started her writing ad jingles, which eventually landed her big-name clients like McDonald’s and Toyota. After some concert years singing back up vocals for Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Jimmy Buffett, among others, she began to break out as a solo act, scoring a soundtrack song in the film “Point Break.”

“I can’t hide from you like I hide from myself,” sigh boygenius on their keenly anticipated debut album the record. In interviews, the indie supergroup comprising Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus have said that writing songs together has enabled them to be more “earnest” than in their solo material. This doesn’t mean that all 12 songs are straightforward confessionals. Most of them slot together with an appealing combination of simplicity and enigma – like those little puzzle cubes made of three types of wood. All the while, you can hear the careful questioning with which the songwriters have honed one another’s thoughts until they slot smoothly together to become satisfying tactile emotional experiences.
the record opens a cappella with the three women’s voices weaving through the old-timey melody of “Without You Without Them”. (The song was written by Dacus and it seems all three wrote independently...

Music history is full of supergroups, but there’s never been one like boygenius, which is why the label doesn’t do them justice. They’re simply a world-beatingly great band, with three of the most brilliant singer-songwriters in the game. Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus all came into boygenius with their own totally distinct styles, not to mention their own hardcore audiences, teaming up with a communal pass-the-mic spirit. They’ve finally dropped their long-awaited full-length debut with The Record — but it’s even better than everybody had hoped.

Billy Porter took us to church with his cover of “Stronger” — and Kelly Clarkson is living for it.
During Tuesday’s episode of the Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer shared her reaction to Porter’s cover of her classic breakup song from his appearance on NBC’s That’s My Jam.
“I have to give a quick shoutout to Billy Porter,” she said before playing a clip from the Jimmy Fallon-hosted TV show. “That’s the greatest cover that I have ever heard of any song I’ve ever performed.

Kelly Clarkson’s covers always bring new life to other artists’ music. On Monday, Clarkson performed Muna’s beloved track “Stayaway” during the singer’s talk show’s Kellyoke segment. And the group is shook about it!
Backed by her My Band Y’all, Clarkson sang the lyrics to the Saves the World single as she slowly crescendoed into the track’s chorus. “Start believing you were right and/I was being too dramatic/So I gotta leave the light on,” she sang, hitting high notes along the way. “For...

Kelly Clarkson is known to run through a powerful ballad during the “Kellyoke” segment on her talk show. But on the latest episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the singer delivered a band-backed performance of Cher’s faux-ballad “Strong Enough,” starting off simple enough on a piano before launching into a full-blown disco event.
The switch doesn’t come until nearly 40 seconds into the song, with the stage lighting indicating the uptick in energy. “Cause I’m strong enough to live without you/Strong enough and I quit crying/Long enough,...

“American Idol” auditions continued with the fourth episode of Season 20 on Sunday, March 20. This installment of the ABC reality TV competition definitely delivered on talent and judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie were left inspired and, at times, in tears.
So who was the best of the night? And did these aspiring stars choose the right songs? Below I rank each hopeful from the least impressive (but with room to grow) to a possible Season 20 frontrunner. I also throw in a song suggestion or artist I’d love to hear them cover.
