To get acquainted with the basics, read our original review here. For our verdict on how Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus fares in the recently-released handheld version, keep reading after the jump.
To the casual observer on the train in the morning, I’m just a twenty-something man in a shirt and chinos holding an odd looking GameBoy thingy. Little do they know that, from where I’m sitting, there’s carnage on screen. Bj’s blasting Nazis with two machine guns and casually philosophizing about life. Fifteen minutes later the odious Frau Engel has taken center stage wielding an axe. I feel movement to my left as an inquiring passenger glances over to see what I’m doing, and to no doubt wonder what the heck is going on.
There’s something giddy about being in adult company in a respectable domain and letting it rain lead. I also...

The last time we saw William “Bj” Blazkowicz, in 2014’s Wolfenstein: The New Order, he was in a pretty rough state. For this sequel, ported to Switch by Doom geniuses Panic Button, we get a prologue bringing the player up to date, and then the game kicks off from the moment of Blazkowicz’s resurrection.
Since its announcement, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus has been held up as the defining example of whether a truly Aaa, current-gen third-party game could run on Nintendo’s relatively underpowered architecture. The answer is yes, but with significant compromises.
Low PC settings is the acceptable target here; and, being generous, it gives a stylised, Dishonored-type appearance. Generally, the right cutbacks have been made to achieve a mostly solid 30 Fps. Some textures are shockingly low – check out the graffiti on the helicopter – but when it’s all in motion, it’s perfectly playable. Handheld...

The Nintendo Switch could soon be the sort of platform that gets the same games at the same time as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, according to the head of Panic Button Games.
And Adam Creighton, director of development and co-owner of the studio, should know, Panic Button has spent more time working on bringing big Aaa titles from other platforms to the Switch than most. He says his studio has spent nearly six years working with Nintendo’s Switch hardware, including early development tech.
“We’ve been working on the hardware for a long time, almost six years,” he told Variety in a recent interview. “That’s more than almost any third party.”
During that time Panic Button released original work, but also were the team in charge of bringing “Rocket League,” “Doom,” and soon “Wolfenstein II” to Nintendo’s hybrid console. He said the company is working on...

id Software has always been known for intense “scalability,” that is to say their games can be made to run on more or less demanding hardware with relative ease (just look at this video of the original Doom running on a Canon printer). So it comes as relatively little surprise, although still some amazement, that Doom (2016) has found its way onto Nintendo’s hybrid console.
The port, being handled by Panic Button (also responsible for the upcoming Rocket League Switch port), will be the focus of this review. It should be known I believe Doom to be a fantastic game, one of the highlights of my 2016 gaming year (and it took top spot in our 2016 Game of the Year Awards). But just because you can play it on Switch, does that mean you should?
My initial impressions, left by the first loading screen, were mixed. I was excited to see...

Last month, Nintendo fans were in for a surprise during the latest Nintendo Direct video, announcing some of Bethesda's latest games would be coming to the Switch. Today, we get a release date for the new Doom game, along with a new video discussing the features.
If you haven't jumped on the Nintendo Switch train yet, you definitely need to. The 3rd-party support is certainly coming along, and the ability to take your game anywhere is a most welcome change. When Bethesda announced they were bringing over just about all of their recent titles (Skyrim is launching on November 17th as well, with WolfensteinII at some point) would be coming to the system, I was overjoyed.
Today brings us a new video that highlights some of the features gamers will encounter on the Switch version of Doom, as well as a release date. You'll be able to battle the demon...

I love horror films that are set in the past, before mobile phones, internet, even before cars; the more isolated, the better, without the distraction of modern life interrupting what makes us truly afraid. When all you have is other humans and nature and the thin line that separates you from violence and insanity. Such seems to be the case with The Lighthouse, a new feature film directed by Chris Crow (Devil's Bridge, Panic Button) and produced by David Lloyd (Devil's Bridge). Starring Michael Jibson (Les Miserables, The Riot Club) and Mark Lewis Jones (Troy, Master and Commander), it tells the true story of the Smalls Island incident of 1801, off the coast of Wales. Quite macabre, and all the more sinister for being plucked...

When it comes to British horror films, you’ve hopefully already seen the likes of 28 Days Later, The Descent and Mum & Dad. Maybe you’ve watched The Zombie Diaries, Eden Lake and Panic Button (if you haven’t, you should address that immediately).
As anyone of a certain vintage will inform you, Britain has a rich horror heritage, and there’s much more to the genre than Dracula and Frankenstein. There’s Witchfinder General, with Vincent Price as Matthew Hopkins, a real-life prosecutor of witches, plus The Blood On Satan’s Claw, about 17th Century devil worshippers. And that’s just for starters.
Even if we eschewed Hammer and restricted ourselves to the “old school” horror actors (Price, Christopher Lee, Donald Pleasance), the list would include Madhouse, Death Line, Theatre Of Blood and House Of The Long Shadows, among others. Again, not too shabby.

The feature-film directorial debut of John Shackleton, one of the producers at Movie Mogul, the company behind 2011′s fantastic Panic Button (which also debuted at Frightfest the same year), if there’s one film I was looking forward to seeing at this years Frightfest it was The Sleeping Room. I was one of the few the extolled the virtues of Media Mogul’s first foray into filmmaking and I was eager to see what they’d bring to the table with this film.
And I wasn’t disappointed.

Here at Digital Spy, we love both game shows and Andi Peters - so imagine our delight when we were given the chance to pop up to Manchester to have a go at ITV's brand new series Ejector Seat! Of course, we then went on to get very nervous (the lights are bright, you guys!), freaked out at the possibility of pressing our buzzer prematurely (who hasn't been there?) and basically kind of embarrassed ourselves a little bit.
That said, we had a great time - and can't wait to see more people getting tipped back in those Ejector Seat chairs (which are very comfy, just so you know. Deceptively comfy.) Watch the video below to see how Digital Spy did (we swear we knew all of the answers, honest) and then read on to see what Andi had to say about the show...

[Note: With the film finally set for a home entertainment release next week, here's a reposting of my review of Antisocial from its UK debut at last years Frightfest]
It’s often been said that people today wander about the streets in a zombie-like state – with their faces buried in their phones texting their friends, tweeting and checking out who likes what on Facebook – oblivious to the outside world. But what if this reliance on technology, and social networks in particular, became societies downfall? What if the thing we shared online was more than just information? That’s the question posed by Antisocial.
Sitting somewhere between Night of the Living Dead, The Crazies and The Social Network, Antisocial sees five university friends gather at a house party to ring in the New Year. What they don’t know is the end really is nigh, as an epidemic has erupted outside and around the world. With nowhere else to turn,...

Our voyage through history's underappreciated films arrives at the year 2011, and a great year for lesser-seen gems...
Even a cursory glance at the top 10 grossing films of 2011 reveals something strange: nine of the entries are sequels. Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 2 brought the fantasy franchise to a close with a staggering $1.3bn haul. Transformers: Dark Of The Moon wasn't too far behind with just over $1.1bn. On Stranger Tides continued the Pirates Of The Caribbean series' wave of success, despite mixed reviews.
Elsewhere in the top 10, you'll find another Twilight, a fourth Mission: Impossible, a second Kung Fu Panda, a fifth Fast, another Hangover, and further Cars. Standing alone on the list is The Smurfs, the adaptation of Peyo's Belgian comic strip. In fact, 2011 saw the release of no fewer than 28 sequels - the most we've yet seen in any given year.

Proving that small-scale shocks are often the most effective, here are 15 of the finest single-location thrillers of the last decade...
Playing on our fears of being trapped and alone, the single-location thriller updates old haunted house and home invasion stories to include new, more inventive locations, and it seems that filmmakers haven’t yet run out of ideas of how to scare the living daylights out of us. Some have played on modern fears of corporate meddling or reality television, while others have simply tried to expand their locations to icy prisons and public places.
To celebrate those great genre-bending efforts, here are a dozen and a half of our favorites from the last ten years (with a doff of the cap to Panic Button, a low budget Brit horror that just misses out)…

Jamie and Laura are back, and now they’ve got the baby in tow. The second season opens with our non-couple in the thick of parenting, and few ideas about how to cope. They can’t even pick a name, and time’s running out, because everyone is involved in planning the Christening.
Pramface delivered a lot of laughs in the first season, and the truly ensemble show doesn’t let up for the second. A wonderfully clever series that makes great use of its entire cast, Pramface is a fast-paced vehicle that manages to explore not only the teenagers, but their parents as well, and strips away the varnish to show off how people really are. Well, sort of.

Described as a “cross-genre” film, Monster Project follows six teenagers who undergo a harrowing transformation into monsters, imbued with various abilities and ailments, and are forced to go on the run, fighting for their survival.

Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection is a film we started hearing about last summer, which puts a British spin on the George Romero’s classic. We now have word that the film has been acquired for Us distribution:
Via Andy Erupts: “Grindstone Entertainment Group has acquired North American distribution rights to ‘Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection’ and will release the film through Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Based on the 1968 zombie classic, the story focuses on four generations of a British family trapped in a farmhouse in Wales during a zombie apocalypse.
North Bank Entertainment’s Andrew Jones produced the film, with Independent Moving Pictures’ Robert Graham and Manish Patel as Executive Producers. James Plumb, of Mad Science Films, directed and also co-wrote the script with Jones. The cast includes British actor Sule Rimi (‘Panic Button’, ‘Elfie Hopkins’) in the iconic role of Ben. Producer Andrew Jones and Grindstone’s Stan Wertlieb made the deal.

Director/writer: Chris Crow.
Devil's Bridge is an indie horror film from the United Kingdom. This is director and writer Chris Crow's first major release and Devil's Bridge deals with three blokes on holiday. They leave Essex for Wales, but they might have wanted to avoid one stop in a backwoods country town. Here, a hunter reminds the men who is boss in the Welsh wilderness with threats, stares, gunfire and even stabbings. The guys get the message a little too late. And thus, we have another urban versus rural encroachment theme with elements of Welsh history and territory aggression tied into a fairly predictable thriller.
Sam (Michael Jibson), Danny (Gary Mavers), and Sean (Joseph Millson) are the three men "on the piss." Sean is searching for a family friend who can get him out of his financial troubles. On the way to find this mystery man, they almost...
