“The Talk” is going silent. CBS is ending the long-running daytime chat show, which will get an abbreviated final season (its 15th) this fall, before signing off for good with what it’s calling a “celebratory sendoff” in December.
Rumors of the show’s end have been swirling for months, but CBS made it official to the show’s cast and crew on Friday morning. The news comes as CBS and the NAACP are developing a new daytime soap opera under their content partnership, “The Gates,” a partnership with P&g Studios, a division of Procter & Gamble. “The Gates,” which “follows the lives of a wealthy Black family in a posh, gated community,” is seen as a potential replacement for “The Talk.”

Logan Huntzberger himself, Matt Czuchry, chimed in on the decades-long debate over which of Rory’s (Alexis Bledel) boyfriends was the best. And he did it in the most diplomatic way possible.
Czuchry stopped by The Talk to promote his upcoming role in American Horror Story: Delicate and spent some time discussing arguably one of his biggest onscreen characters: Logan in Gilmore Girls.
The debate over which of Rory’s boyfriends is the best in the Amy Sherman-Palladino series has been ongoing since the show was first released in the early 2000s and continues to maintain its popularity today.
The daytime show’s hosts asked Czuchry about his thoughts on a viral TikTok from last year that raised a point that perhaps both Logan and Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) are below-average partners, and that’s why women’s standards for men have been so low over the past two decades.

While on The Talk, the 46-year-old actor was shown a TikTok that went viral, where one user shared, “Why don’t we talk about the fact that the two options [Jess and Logan] are actually very below average and might be the reason why standards have been on the floor for women for decades now?”

Matt Czuchry is weighing in on the Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel) romance discourse! During the April 2 episode of The Talk, the Gilmore Girls alum was shown a TikTok video of fan hating on both Logan Huntzberger and Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia), calling them “below average” boyfriends and a possible reason why “standards have been on the floor for women for decades now.” Czuchry, always a gentleman, politely said, “We shouldn’t be searching for perfection in anything, whether it be relationships or whatever it may be.” He noted how Gilmore Girls has “spanned generations” because of its “timeless nature,” due in large part to creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and executive producer Dan Palladino. “But specific to that take, I think that Logan had his strengths and weaknesses, and Jess has his strengths and weaknesses, and Dean has their strengths and weaknesses like we all do,” Czuchry elaborated. “I think the fun...

Daytime star Jeanne Cooper didn’t hide the fact that she got a facelift in 1984. She couldn’t, since footage from the procedure aired on The Young and the Restless 40 years ago, on March 28 of that year. Cooper, who played Katherine Chancellor on the CBS soap from 1974 until just before her death in 2013, said on The Talk in 2012 that the procedure was her idea. “I walked by a mirror one day and scared the hell out of myself,” she quipped (per HuffPost). “Everything that happened in that storyline was first-hand. And you saw everything as I saw it.” In a 2009 Television Academy interview, Cooper said that when she asked The Young and the Restless co-creator Bill Bell for time off to recover from her facelift, he thought that art could imitate life. “He came down to the dressing room one day, and he said, ‘Jeanne, how would you feel about...

Some fans are convinced CBS’ long-running daytime talk show The Talk will be canceled as the series has yet to be officially renewed for a 15th season. As reported by The Sun U.S., viewers think they’ve spotted ‘clues’ that The Talk will be axed based on CBS’ upcoming schedule. As recently revealed, the eye network will be adding all-Black soap opera The Gates to its daytime TV line-up. While CBS has yet to confirm exactly where and when The Gates will air, the schedule doesn’t leave much room for The Talk. Fellow soap operas The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful have both been renewed, so those are unlikely to be removed from the line-up. Then there are iconic game shows Let’s Make A Deal and The Price is Right, both of which continue to bring in solid ratings for CBS and, therefore,...

With CBS in “accelerated development” on “The Gates,” which, if picked up to series, would become the network’s first new daytime soap opera since launching “The Bold and the Beautiful” in 1987, many in the entertainment industry have questioned what that means for “The Talk,” the daytime talk show that replaced the long-running drama series “As The World Turns,” which concluded its run after more than 54 years on the network in September 2010.
Currently in its 14th season, “The Talk” ranks as the third most watched daytime talk show, behind only ABC’s “The View” and syndicated talker “Live with Kelly and Mark.” Despite that, the show is currently down double digits among Total Viewers and the key Women 18-49 sales demographic, often ranking at the bottom half in both categories among all daytime broadcast shows and has remained CBS’ least-watched and lowest-rated daytime series overall since it premiered in October 2010.

Chelsea Peretti was choked up remembering her deceased Brooklyn 99 co-star, Andre Braugher, during an interview with The Talk on Friday, recalling that Braugher was “always singing” while on the lot for shoots.
“We shared a lot of memories about him. He was a special person,” Peretti said, fighting back tears as she noted that the rest of the Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast had gotten dinner on Thursday night. “It’s hard to talk about because it’s emotional.”

The Talk‘s future on CBS is seemingly up in the air!
It was recently announced that a new soap opera, The Gates, is in the works at the network and if picked up, will need a timeslot.
A new report has emerged examining the CBS daytime schedule and the possibilities of what time The Gates could air, pointing towards The Talk‘s timeslot.
Keep reading to find out more…
According to Deadline, though The Talk has gone through a change in leadership, it is still the lowest-rated show on CBS.
Other soaps on the network, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful, are still pulling in great ratings, and are locked in through fall 2025.
Also on CBS’ daytime schedule are game shows Let’s Make a Deal and The Price Is Right, which are also holding with solid ratings, as well as “sound budgets, and frequently...

CBS announced some promising news for the future of daytime dramas last week when it revealed plans to develop a new sudser that would follow the lives of a wealthy Black family in a posh, gated community.
Dubbed The Gates, the serial is from Michele Val Jean, who has written more than 2,000 episodes of daytime dramas and won multiple Daytime Emmys for her work on The Bold & The Beautiful and General Hospital. She will serve as writer and showrunner and will also executive producer alongside CBS Studios NAACP Venture President Sheila Ducksworth, along with Leon Russell, Derrick Johnson and Kimberly Doebereiner.
What CBS didn’t say, however, is how long each episode of the soap would be — though it’s looking to be an hour a day — and where (or when) it would go on the schedule should it earn a series pickup. Dropping The Young and the Restless is...

Sharon Osbourne exited Celebrity Big Brother after spending eight days in the most famous house in the UK.
Osbourne was a “lodger” and wasn’t an official housemate, having agreed to appear in the reality competition for only one week. The former The Talk co-host was not evicted from the house and didn’t face the public vote.
“It’s been a great party. I have loved it,” Osbourne said after Big Brother announced her time had ended.
Big Brother asked Osbourne to name the housemates who impacted her most, saying it was Nikita Kuzmin.
“He’s beautiful inside and outside,” Osbourne said about the Strictly Come Dancing dancer.
Osbourne also mentioned Levi Roots because “he’s just a genuinely good guy.”
“I’ve loved every minute,” Osbourne said outside the house before her daughter Kelly joined her on stage to give her a hug.
