"They're coming for you." Saban Films have revealed an official trailer for High Heat, the action comedy arriving to watch in December this year. If anyone is interested. This is another of these direct-to-vod junk films that they're dropping endlessly nowadays. The film hasn't shown up anywhere and is releasing without much pomp next month - it does look fun. When the local mafia shows up to burn down her restaurant, Ana, a chef with a meticulous past as an ex-Kgb agent, defends her turf and proves her knife skills both in and out of the kitchen. High Eat stars Olga Kurylenko, Dallas Page, Don Johnson, Kaitlin Doubleday, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Erik Bloomquist. This kind of seems like a fun twist on John Wick, but what if he was a she, and she was a chef instead? Might be a harmless watch if you dig this cast and humor.

Russian buyers unaffiliated to the state have been particularly active, sellers report.
AFM sellers have been engaging with private Russian buyers unaffiliated to the state as attendees overall reported a busy market for independent international distributors, where action titles once again are proving to be a major draw.
A number of executives who spoke to Screen revealed Russian buyers were pursuing must-have titles “aggressively” as the Hollywood studios’ blockade of theatrical releases creates a deep appetite for content. Trade with parts of Asia has been soft in the absence of buyers from China.

Ryan Murphy’s Jeffrey Dahmer series “Monster” overpowered the Netflix top 10 rankings this week, taking the No. 1 spot with 196.2 million hours viewed following its Sept. 21 premiere. During the Sept. 19-Sept. 25 viewing window, the 10-episode limited series knocked “Cobra Kai” Season 5 off of its pedestal and down to the third spot.
Season 2 of “Fate: The Winx Saga” stayed at the No. 2 spot for the second week. The second installment of the fantasy series, which premiered on the streamer on Sept. 16, earned nearly 61 million hours viewed in its first full week of availability. The show’s first season also appeared at No. 5, more than a year after its Jan. 2021 release. It received 20.3 million hours watched during the measured window.
The fifth season of “Cobra Kai” dropped in viewership during its second full week on Netflix. The show raked in 38.1 million hours viewed –– a drastic fall from the previous week’s 95.6 million hours viewed.

During the Sept. 12-Sept. 18 viewing window, the show scored 95.6 million hours viewed –– which is still a high note despite its drop from the prior week’s astounding 107 million hours watched.
Sliding in at No. 2 is Season 2 of “Fate: The Winx Saga.” The new installment debuted on the streaming service on Sept. 16, raking in 49 million hours watched in its first three days of availability. Season 1 of “The Crown” continued its reign on the list, moving up to the third spot with 40.8 million hours viewed, while Season 2 of the series entered the list with 16.7 million hours viewed.

Netflix limited series “Echoes” landed 36.58 million hours viewed from August 29-September 4, according to the streamer. That’s good enough to rank number one for the final week of summer among Netflix’s English-language TV shows — but it’s just plain not good enough.
For any individual title, being number one on Netflix is an impressive feat. The Netflix library has 17,000 pieces of content, more than half of which are originals or exclusives. However, quality and quantity — for both subs and for programming — are getting harder to come by.
The streamer began sharing its weekly Top 10 in late June/early July 2021. Of the 62 weeks Netflix has measured thus far, by our count 42 had a number-one show with more than twice the viewership of “Echoes” last week. As recent as a month ago (and several other times this summer), this “Echoes” performance wouldn’t have even made the Top 5.

Just a few months ago, Netflix appeared to be on a very rough track. Then Stranger Things season 4 came around and led to a less-apocalyptic-than-expected Q2 earnings report for the streamer. With its new releases for August 2022, however, Netflix is going to have to find another hit to keep the good vibes rolling. Here are some of their best options.
Perhaps the biggest breakout candidate for Netflix this month is The Sandman on Aug. 5. Though Neil Gaiman’s classic comic has long been thought to be unadaptable, the folks behind 10-episode series are betting they’re the ones for the job. Get ready to meet Morpheus, the king of dreams and the ruler of The Dreaming.
