Jimmy Carr: Making People Laugh
jboothmillard11 August 2011
Warning: Spoilers
This was the sixth stand up tour and DVD release for Jimmy Carr once again presenting his smart demeanour and dress sense, observational and still as rude jokes covering many subjects. Routines and discussions in the show include the return of the screen warm up act with text jokes, his views on women, people from a certain place, i.e. the Scottish, Scousers, accents, a near twenty minute guide to his mind with animated pictures, with ideas, problem solving, facts, language, fears, faith & spirituality, dumb things, social issues and love (sex), his views on charity, old people and ageing, talking during sex - the most mundane things to say, weight, writing an autobiography with notes and animated pictures about his looks, his career, his childhood, being catholic, his sexual awakening and the order of Girls Aloud members he would want to have sex with, he takes questions from the audience, he and the audience sing his favourite song "Sweet Caroline" and ending with some unpleasant jokes to offend. Special features on the DVD include Carr's three appearances on Just For Laughs, some extra jokes in the show concerning famous people, including recently dead Michael Jackson, and Carr meeting and greeting members of the audience queueing for his autograph and photograph. Jimmy Carr was number 12 on 100 Greatest Stand-Ups. Very good!

A typical Jimmy Carr show.
deloudelouvain14 December 2018
This years show of Jimmy Carr is recorded in Glasgow, Scotland. So there will be some typical jokes about scottish people and even if they are very caricatural they remain funny. The audience clearly appreciates some jokes about their own as Jimmy Carr never spares anybody. In front of a full house he brings almost two hours of stand-up comedy, consisting of mostly oneliners as that is his trademark. Interaction with the audience is also something typical with Jimmy Carr, so if you think you're a smartass try taking him on and he will make a fool out of you in a second. Like all his other shows the jokes are very rude and not made for everyone. Some people won't like them as they are all a bit harsh but if you're a fan, like I am, then you will have a pleasant time with his show. You exactly know what you will get with a show of Jimmy Carr so be warned.
