Legendary TV chef Emeril Lagasse debuted his eighth television series, "Emeril's Table," on the Hallmark Channel September 26. Airing daily at 11 a.m., the show features Emeril cooking as five guests sit beside him talking and engaging him on a variety of topics.
Those guests will change on a daily basis and will include "newlyweds, moms-to-be, fire fighters [and] vegetarians" among others. According to the show's site, "as Emeril inspires and engages them, even answering some of their most burning culinary questions and food dilemmas, he’ll also share fresh, fun ideas, recipes, tips and techniques."
Even with more than 2,000 cooking episodes down, the veteran New Orleans chef shows no signs of slowing down. His 16th book, "Sizzling Skillets and other One-Pot Wonders," comes out this week.

Sandra Lee is among the celebrity chefs about to get new competition, but she says she isn't worried.
The host of the Food Network series "Semi-Homemade Cooking" and "Sandra's Money Saving Meals" knows next Monday (Sept. 26) will bring the debuts of two significant weekday newcomers in the cooking-show category: ABC's much-promoted "The Chew" and Emeril Lagasse's "Emeril's Table" on Hallmark Channel. Still, Lee maintains she's not concerned about having more on-air rivals.
"You know why? Nobody does what I do," she tells Zap2it. "Nobody does all the categories ... home, garden, crafts, fashion, decor, holidays. And nobody does cooking and baking simultaneously. Rachael Ray is a great cook, but she will tell you herself that she's not a baker. I don't feel [competition] because it would take four people to do what I do. And I don't mean that as bragging.

Emeril Lagasse says that if "Top Chef" wants him back for another season, he's there ... though his first season hasn't started running yet.
The culinary star has finished taping "Top Chef: Texas," which will mark the ninth round of the Bravo competition when it debuts this fall. Having done episodes in Austin, Dallas and San Antonio with host Padma Lakshmi and fellow judges Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons already has Lagasse eager for more.
"It was a great experience for me," the friendly, sincere Lagasse tells Zap2it. "I had been a guest on 'Top Chef' before, for one or two shows, and it intrigued me so much that I got caught up in it. It's so real, and that's what I like about the show. It really should be a dynamite season.
"Padma and Tom have been friends for a long time," Lagasse adds, "and when they called and we talked,...
