The one thing you can say about the time that William Shatner sold his kidney stone for a whopping $25,000 is that the money was used for charity. It went to the building of a house by the Habitat for Humanity, so at least it was for a good cause, but come on. Of all the things he could have sold this was without a doubt one of the grossest things you could imagine. Does anyone know what a kidney stone is? Do you understand where it’s been? Even if it’s thoroughly cleaned and sanitized it’s still the idea of

Newspaper heiress Patricia Hearst Shaw occasionally creeps into the headlines these days as a champion show dog trainer, a figure of enduring curiosity with a past string of minor roles as an actress on TV and in the kitschy films of director John Waters.
But for a heightened moment in the mid-1970s, Patty Hearst, as she was then known, was the central figure in a San Francisco Bay area kidnapping and crime spree that intersected with domestic terrorism during a chaotic moment in American politics and culture, producing iconic images of the era and landing her in prison for 22 months after she embraced,...

“Bitterness, really” is Paul Kaye’s explanation of what drove his satirical red-carpet interviewer Dennis Pennis in the nineties. “I’d hit thirty, I’d sort of failed as a musician, I’d failed as an artist I felt at the time.” Ambushing Hollywood’s elite in the persona of a brash, punk nuisance wasn’t Kaye’s first choice for stardom, he admits. “It wasn’t how I expected to forge a career. Of all the things I thought I’d end up doing, it wasn’t that.”

Lady Gaga performing at NYC's Radio City Music Hall during the Fame Monster Tour, January 2010. This month, Netflix dropped an up-close and personal look at the life of one of the world's biggest pop stars. Gaga: Five Foot Two is a mesmerizing and utterly captivating look at life in the spotlight, and everything we don't see behind closed doors. In reality, we only get a small glimpse of Lady Gaga's private life - how can you capture a decade of stardom in just 90 minutes? - but the things we see feel allegorical and symbolic of everything she's faced since "Just Dance" first blew up in 2008. Of all the things we see, one particularly traumatic revelation seems to underscore the entire project: her battle with chronic pain. With the release of her documentary, Gaga recently revealed that she has fibromyalgia, a chronic disorder that manifests as widespread pain throughout the body.

Most people know that he's a chart-topping singer-songwriter, a director-producer, a top-notch parodist, an author and a die-hard polka enthusiast. Of all the things I never expected to see go on tour with a show, Fast and Furious is one of them. I mean, I've been wrong before. There have been Marvel Superhero tours, musical theater tours, but a traveling tour revolving around people street racing? That's ridiculous.
But it's not. And what's more, they aren't just getting D-list actors to pretend to be like the stars of their show. (I'm looking at you Marvel Superhero tours). Vin Diesel has agreed to appear and go on tour with them as his character Dominic Toretto! The actor said on Facebook:

It’s been four years since The Trip To Italy. Now comes IFC’s third film in the series, The Trip To Spain, from director Michael Winterbottom.
After jaunts through northern England and Italy, Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon embark on another deliciously deadpan culinary road trip. This time around, the guys head to Spain to sample the best of the country’s gastronomic offerings in between rounds of their hilariously off-the-cuff banter. Over plates of pintxos and paella, the pair exchange barbs and their patented celebrity impressions, as well as more serious reflections on what it means to settle into middle age. As always, the locales are breathtaking, the cuisine to die for, and the humor delightfully devilish.
The film opens in theaters August 11, 2017.

Without serious help, both Helen and Noah are in danger of losing everything.
Both of them cracked under pressure on The Affair Season 3 Episode 9. Helen's parents falling in line with Vic proved too much for her, and keeping the secret about Scotty's death was no longer of interest.
Noah, on the other hand, had to face over 30 years worth of lies that had been building up inside him. Now that the truth is out, can either of these two start putting their fractured lives back together?
Helen was reeling after her night with Noah. After facing off with Vic and his decision to leave, the only thing she could think of to do was to get out of the city.
In hindsight, it probably wasn't the best move. She's never gotten on well with her parents, and they simply fell in love with Vic during the dinner they recently shared.

After a few character shots, we get a good view of the school’s interior accompanied by the line “I feel a great swell of pity for the poor soul who comes to my school looking for trouble” – something previously spoken by Patrick Stewart’s Professior Xavier in X2, of course. In the words of Michelle Tanner, "aw, nuts!"
On Friday, Fuller House star/permanent heartthrob John Stamos crushed every fangirl's dreams when he revealed he's "dating" someone during an appearance on The View.
The actor, who stars in and produces both the Full House Netflix reboot and Fox sitcom Grandfathered, also happens to be currently touring with the Beach Boys. (Stamos, 52, has performed in concert with the iconic band since the mid-1980s, typically playing the drums or other percussion instruments.)

With The Academy Awards going down this weekend, members of the Cinelinx team compares our picks for who we think will win versus who should win. Come inside to see our choices!
The biggest movie awards show around is finally upon us, and as we’ve been preparing for it here on the site, we thought today would be a great chance to talk about our own Oscar predictions. Let’s start off talking about the big ones first and our own hopes:
Best Supporting Actor
Garrett: Look, I’m glad for Sly that he got a nomination after all these years. He’s definitely the surprise nominee for this year’s Oscars, especially considering the lack of other awards for the much-appraised Creed. He’ll win too. Another shock. But does he deserve it over the other nominees?
Christian Bale is usually good, and his performance in The Big Short is another solid performance,...

D.J.'s got moves! Of all the things viewers notice while binge-watching Fuller House this weekend, perhaps the one they'll least expect is this: Candace Cameron Bure (who is totally hilarious while reprising her role as D.J. Tanner) is great at the physical stunts. The show gets surprisingly physical in multiple episodes thanks to both choreographed dances and intense wrestling matches, and Bure did all the stunts herself, regardless of the fact that there was a professional stunt double on hand. "That is me, every single move," Bure tells E!'s Kristin Dos Santos in the video above of a scene involving Mexican wrestling. "They hired a stunt-woman, and they said,...

Of all the things for the Internet to be outraged about today, we couldn’t have guessed this answer with a million questions and a quick buzzer thumb. A recent rule preventing Canadians from trying out for the hit game show “Jeopardy!” has been making the rounds Monday morning — and making waves across the Web. “At this time we are precluded from accepting registration information from Canadian residents,” a statement on the show’s Faq page states. “We are currently evaluating this matter.” Also Read: 'Jeopardy' Three-Way Loss Leaves Game Show Without a Champion (Video) The problem appears to be with the Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation,...

Screaming rats. Possessed humans. A non-gender specific student astronaut.
Of all the things I was told I can be, I never thought I would ever get a chance to be a student astronaut. I mean, astronaut, yeah, I can do that, but not a student astronaut, let alone one lost in space with screaming rats and possessed humans.
Introducing Lifeline, an interactive text-based story app detailing the adventures of Taylor, a student astronaut who contacts you after Taylor’s ship crashed and is all alone. You lead the character through multiple stories, protecting this random person from the elements and whatever mysteries lie out there in the world.
Just recently named App of the Week on the iTunes store, Lifeline was launched in April 2015 and written by Dave Justus, under 3 Minute Games LLC, but the game is anything but. The first time you play, you abide by real time actions,...

One of the worst things that can happen when you’re watching a film is for a legitimately interesting character to suddenly disappear with no explanation. One minute they’re there, part of the plot and serving as key motivation for the main player and then whoosh… gone, just like that. The film, and the other characters, just don’t mention them ever again.
It doesn’t make any sense. How does a film-maker completely lose track of an actor? Of all the things that should be high priority, keeping tabs on characters is certainly up there. And it’s not just amateur directors who are guilty, either – I’m talking about the likes of Steven Spielberg and Ridley Scott, masterful film-makers who should know a lot better.
Regardless as to whether or not there’s any external explanation, it makes for an incredibly frustrating viewing experience. Plot ambiguity can be effective,...

Of all the things to expect on the Internet, the least was probably the reaction that seems to have overwhelmingly greeted the first full trailer for David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. Having been a punching bag for fans outraged at the new direction of the Joker and the perceived uneven tone of the Comic Con footage, the film is now being talked about in far more glowing terms. The hype train is firmly back on the tracks.
Kevin Smith got to see the trailer before anyone else – it pays to have friends at DC – and he predicted the film is going to be shockingly good:
“I think this is their Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s going to be a sneak f***king stealth hit.”
And that now seems to be the general consensus: excitement taking the place of eye-rolling at stories of Leto staying in character, or his grill,...

In the middle of "Star Wars" fever, only Steven Spielberg could find a way to steal some of the attention.
The first trailer for "The Bfg," the filmmaker's highly-anticipated adaptation of Roald Dahl's classic children's book about the titular character dropped Wednesday and the internet liked the sh** out of it. While it was just a tease, it definitely piqued our interest and raised our expectations. Because the last time Spielberg worked with the late screenwriter Melissa Mathison on a family film, the end result was "E.T."
So why is "The Bfg" such a Bfd? Here are all the things you need to know about one of 2016's must-see films.
So what does "Bfg" stand for?
Tell your gamer friends who still play waaaay too much "Doom" that, no, it doesn't stand for "Big Effing Gun." It stands for "Big Friendly Giant."
Cool - got it. Now, what is "The Bfg?...

Caitlyn Jenner has been recognized once again for her advocacy work in the Lgbt community.
The former Olympian – who announced she was transgender in an April Diane Sawyer interview before introducing herself as Caitlyn on the cover of Vanity Fair in June – was recognized at Glamour magazine's 25th annual Women of the Year awards, being hailed "The Trans Champion."
"There was a French activist and writer, Simone de Beauvoir, who said, 'You are not born woman. You become one' ... Words I live by," Jenner, 66, cracked during her acceptance speech at New York's Carnegie Hall Monday night.

Of all the things to stop James Bond dead in his tracks, a small knee injury wouldn’t be the first obstacle to come to mind. Nevertheless, following an on-set accident back in February, MGM has confirmed that star Daniel Craig underwent minor knee surgery during a scheduled Spectre break to correct said injury. He is human, after all!
Here’s what a spokesperson had to say about the incident, which won’t have any impact on the film’s production schedule.
“During a scheduled break, Daniel Craig had arthroscopic surgery to repair his knee injury. He will rejoin production on April 22nd at Pinewood.”
Craig first sprained his knee whilst filming an action scene at England’s famous Pinewood Studios, though this didn’t affect Spectre‘s European shoots that followed, as it’s understood the actor didn’t miss any days of filming as production switched to Rome...

Of all the things beginning to define the seventh season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, perhaps the most significant is the sense of scope. Week after week, the series seems to be endeavoring to top itself when it comes to executing the main challenge. The second episode saw the contestants participating in a large-scale lip-sync performance that included spoken-word elements, while episode three saw the queens trying (and often failing) to tackle Shakespeare. So when episode four dispenses with the mini challenge altogether, it’s clear that “Spoof!” is going to be another grueling undertaking. Let’s peek at what pops (and what flops) on this week’s Drag Race.Weird Al CrankybitchIt wouldn’t be a Drag Race recap without pointing out just what a shady bunch of contestants season seven has gathered, and this week serves as no exception. This week’s maxi challenge has the girls self-select into three teams,...

Well, either you're neck deep in Netflix's third season of House of Cards (our reviews here) or you've already binged your way through it and are still reeling from Frank Underwood's diabolical ways in the White House, which can cause quite an appetite. Sleepy Hollow, Season 2, Episode 18, “Tempus Fugit”
Written by Mark Goffman
Directed by Paul Edwards
Airs Mondays at 9pm (Et) on Fox
It’s hard to regard Sleepy Hollow’s second season as anything other than a disappointment. While it never crossed the threshold into being a bad show, what was once the most loopy and good-humored offering on broadcast television transformed into something that was frequently a chore to watch. There was no major single flaw in the series, but multiple bad decisions that were allowed to fester and detract from the things the show did well. Irving’s constantly wavering allegiances and relevance, the introduction of a character no one particularly liked in Hawley, a Moloch plan that lacked the complexity of earlier efforts, and pushing Katrina down a flight of misguided plots—all of these gave the feeling that Sleepy Hollow no longer had a steady hand behind the wheel,...

Syfy is no stranger to taking risks, or making shows and movies with odd concepts, but basing a series on a cult-popular, 20-year-old, sci-fi film, which is itself loosely based on another film from the early ’60s, is… bold. 12 Monkeys is that bold effort, and apart from all the other problems inherent in such an beastt, there are a lot of fans you’re likely to irritate, and Syfy is already after a fair portion of the “rabid fan” demographic, just as a general rule.
In this spin on the tale, James Cole (Aaron Standford) travels back in time from a future that has been decimated by a plague. A clue from that future leads him to Dr. Cassandra Railly (Amanda Schull), who he needs to lead him to Leland Goines (Zeljko Ivanek). The theory being that, given the only information we have, killing Goines will prevent the plague from happening.

Embattled Sony chairman Amy Pascal had a “very pointed and blunt exchange” with Reverend Al Sharpton today in New York to discuss her racially insensitive jokes about President Obama that were exposed this month by Sony hackers.
According to Sharpton, Pascal committed to working together on a way to address the “cultural blindness” displayed in her emails with producer Scott Rudin. In the private exchange that was leaked online last week, the two joked that the President’s favorite films are black-themed movies like Django Unchained and 12 Years A Slave.
“Very pointed and blunt exchange w/ Amy Pascal in our 90 min meeting. Hollywood needs to change. Her leaked e mails show a cultural blindness,” Sharpton Tweeted.
“At today’s mtg w/ Sony we agreed to work towards establishing a basis to address the issues, Ms. Pascal committed to this,” he continued.
