- Lois, Clark, and Natalie notice a difference in John Henry's behavior and fear something might be very wrong; Kyle encounters an awkward moment with Lana while stopping by the house to pick Sarah up for school.

John vows to Nat that he'll kill Superman, and leaves. A few minutes later, the alarms in the bunker go off and the AI Hedy reports that it's detected some kind of temporal anomaly moving through their galaxy, compromising the integrity of their dimension. Nat leaves Earth in the escape pod, sees the anomaly ahead, and loses the connection to her father's ship.
Now
Nat checks her father in the hospital, and Clark arrives to take John home. John says that he wants to spend time with his two girls, and Nat tells him that Lois isn't his wife and she's still gone. He says that he knows.
Out in the hallway, Nat, Clark, and Lois talk to John about his doctor and wonders why he's having memory lapses now. The doctor tells Nast that recovery from surgery takes time, and confusion is normal with John's kind of brain trauma. She thinks that it's temporary, but Nat worries that it's a sign of infection and nerve damage, and suggests that they do another brain scan just in case. The doctor agrees to put in an order and leaves. Clark says that John will be fine and leaves, but Nat glares at him, says that he doesn't know it, and leaves.
At the Cushing house, Lana calls her daughters down so she can drive them to school. Kyle is down by the front door, and Lana comes down and tells him that they'll be a second. Lana says that it will take time getting used to co-parenting, and Kyle asks how her mayoral debate prep is coming. He offers a second opinion, but Lana says that she's good. Sarah joins them and asks if the two of them being there is going to be normal, and Kyle tells her that it isn't, and he just thought they could get some breakfast. Sarah agrees, but refuses to let Kyle kiss her, and Kyle follows her out.
Clark and Lois arrive home, and Clark points out that Nat blames him for what happened to John. Lois tells him that Nat and John both need time to heal. Lois wants to confront Jon about what he knows about the XK, and Clark ends up having to call their sons down. He calls Jon and Jordan down, and as Lois looks on Clark tells Jon that the football season is over and they had to cancel all the wins. Clark asks Jon who the drugs belong to, and Jon insists that he can't. When he hears Sam pull up, Clark figures about it's about Mitch and speeds out to talk to his father-in-law.
Lois tells Jon that she convinced Principal Balcomb to let Jon take classes online, and if he does his work he won't lose a grade. He'll be working a store the rest of the time, and she'll be taking Jordan to school and Jon to his new job. Once Lois leaves, Jordan asks Jon why he isn't talking and his brother tells him to leave it alone and leaves. Jordan gets a call from Sarah.
Mitch tells Ally that he killed Bizarro and had no choice, and he has both pendants. Ally figures that they can finally ascend, and the other Ally appears to him, and tells Mitch to tell her other self to come now. Mitch snaps back to reality, and Ally knows that he's merged with his "best self", and figures that they should go and become gods.
At the Kent house, Lois tells Jon that Clark doesn't hate his son, but is having a hard time understanding Jon's behavior, just like she is. As Jon goes to get Jordan, Chrissy calls and tells Lois that Ally is promise her a once-in-a-lifetime exclusive. Chrissy figures that Ally trusts her, and will call Lois if she feels she's in any danger. A van with Ally's disciples pulls up and the leader tells Chrissy to hand over her phone. There are men in hazmat suits in the back, and Chrissy hesitantly gets in with them.
At school, Sarah and Jordan talk and Sarah tells him that she hasn't forgiven her father yet, but she can tell he's trying, and that means something. She then tells Jordan that she had dinner with Aubrey, and talking with her is why she's getting along with Kyle. Sarah insists that she and Aubrey are just friends, and suggests they could hang out. Jordan doesn't want to and figures that it's a bad idea, but Sarah disagrees. As Sarah talks, Jordan hears a man, Mickey, telling Candice to give him his money. Jordan abruptly agrees with Sarah, and she goes to message Aubrey. Jordan goes over to Mickey and tells him to leave Candice alone. Mickey storms off, and Candice goes the other way.
Superman meets with Sam, who says that Mitch is off the grid. However, he assures Superman that he's doing everything he can to find Mitch, Hardcastle has sent her apologies to Superman, and he's back on temporary duty. They go into his office and Sam opens a wall safe, only to discover that the pendant is gone.
At the mines, Mitch takes out the soldiers on guard. Ally and her disciples, wearing the hazmat suits, go into the mine. Chrissy follows them.
At the Kent house, Sam tells Clark and Lois that John is tracking the pendant's heat signature. Clark figures that Mitch took the pendant to Ally. Lucy texts Lois and Sam, saying that she feels incomplete and finally sees the way through. They figure she's saying goodbye and have to find her, and Sam tracks Lucy's phone to her home. Clark speeds there to check on Lucy.
In the mines, the pendant Ally is holding glows glow and she figures that they're close.
Clark returns and says that Lucy's phone was there, but not Lucy. Lois figures that it's all tied together and figures Ally and her people are trying to get into the inverse world, and that Lucy is with them. Sam calls his security team at the mines.
Ally and the others find the portal in the mines, and Ally figures that it's time to merge with their other selves and becomes whole. One man floats up to the portal and the others follow. Chrissy goes forward as well, but then the first man screams in pain and disappears. The others scream, and Ally says that it isn't supposed to be happening.
Sam gets no response from his team, and Superman flies to the mines.
Mitch leaves the others.
Superman arrives above the mines but can't see through the lead still lining the mines. He hears the disciples screaming for help, and flies in to pull the remaining disciples to safety. Mitch grabs the pendant from Ally, then flies up to the portal and disappears in it, and Superman only is able to rescue Chrissy, Ally, and one other disciple.
Sam and his people arrive, and Chrissy thanks Superman for saving her. He tells Sam that he didn't save Lucy, and doesn't think anyone survived. Superman remembers that he was supposed to drive John and Nat home, and Sam tells him that he and Lois can handle things. Clark arrives back at the farmhouse, and finds John and Nat already there. Nat is still angry at Clark, and doesn't want to hear Clark's apology. She says that she can't forget that a man who looked just like Clark killed her mother, and walks off.
One year ago, Natalie finds herself caught between worlds. Hedy admits that it doesn't know how they can escape, and Nat tells it to do whatever it has to. It says that it will place Nat in hibernation and search for John.
Now
Jordan goes to the store where Jon is working, and says that he's meeting up with Sarah and Aubrey. He explains that a townie was yelling at Candice, and figures Jon is involved with her. Jon explains that Candice is selling drugs to help out her family, and jokingly points out that Jordan going out with the girl his girlfriend once kissed is worse than breaking the law.
At the Cushing house, Lana calls Kyle over when Emily, who was going to go over Lana's debate points, cancelled. She figures that Kyle has been a part of her campaign since the beginning, and Kyle tells her that Dean will try to steal everything back to their broken marriage. Lana can't seem like she's avoiding the issue, and tells Lana to answer Dean.
Sam questions Ally and tells her that four people died, and he needs the names of them. Ally says that Sam let Mitch down, and figures that Sam wants to know if Lucy was one of the four because he's only a priority to him because she's gone. Lois is watching through a one-way mirror, and wants Sam pulled out. Meanwhile, Ally tells Sam that he let Lucy down, and he's afraid his daughters will leave him like his wife did. Ally offers to help him fill the void in his life where Lucy was. Sam grabs her, and Lois comes in and gets her father to stop. He leaves, and Ally tells Lois that she won't be saying anything without her attorney present.
Sam goes to his office, and Lois follows him. Sam tells Lois that he was scared of Lucy cutting him out. He figures that Lucy is dead because he failed her, and now he has to live that.
Kyle asks Lana how she'll keep scandal out of Smallville when she can't keep it out of her life. Lana figures that it isn't any of her business, and that Kyle is the one who brought scandal into their house and she has to deal with it. Kyle accepts that and says that she had to get it out of her system, and repeats the question. Lana says what matters is how you respond to a crisis in one's personal life, and she's done it with honesty and integrity, and what she promises to do as mayor. Kyle tells her that it's a good answer.
John finds Clark in the cellar and apologizes for Nat. Clark says that Nat was right, and John got hurt helping him. John insists that he'll be all right, and he made the decision that got him hurt. Clark worries that the person who killed John's wife on the other world was him, and John says that Clark has to put in the time with Nat to turn her around. He says that Clark is at heart a good person.
Clark hears someone at Lucy's apartment and speeds there, and finds Lois searching the place for anywhere Lucy would have gone. Lois doesn't believe that Lucy would leave her like their mother did. Superman hugs her and assures her that he's there, and not going anywhere.
Candice goes to the store and tells Jon what happened, and she didn't tell Jon about Mickey before because she didn't want to get Jon in more trouble. Jon offers to walk Candice to her friends's where she's staying the night. They walk and talk about how much Candice owes Mickey, and Candice says that she loves Jon. Mickey pulls up and gets out, and uses a XK inhaler.
Jordan comes to the store to get Jon, and hears Mickey beating up on Jo. Mickey tosses Jon side and tries to pull Candice into his car. Jon grabs Mickey's car keys and throws them away. Mickey attacks him and throws him down the street, and Jordan arrives and shoves Mickey away. Jon yells at Candice to run, and when she does, Jordan and Mickey fight. Jordan finally slams Mickey into his car, and Jon grabs Mickey and tells him that if he ever touches Candice away, he'll send the hooded Jordan his way. Once Mickey runs off, Jon thanks Jordan before the latter goes to meet up with Sarah.
Clark goes into Nat's room and tells her that she's right, but her being around him and Lois ruined her life. Nat tells Clark that she knows Clark isn't the man who killed her mother, and Clark says that he wants her to get a chance to learn him. He gives her the keys to a friend's place, so she and John can live there and the two of them can get to know to each other.
Jordan goes to the diner later, and sees Sarah and Aubrey there. Sarah tells Aubrey that Jordan probably had something come up, and walks away.
At the Kent house, Lois brings Sam some tea. He says that Ally was right about there being a hole in him, and nobody has ever been the same in his wife left. Lucy pulls up to the house and Lois lets her in. Lucy says that she remembered Lois' warning and slipped away from the others, and Sam assures her that she's safe and Ally is locked up. Clark comes home and finds the three Lanes talking amiably, and Sam offers to take Lucy home and the next day they'll have brunch.
Kyle asks Lana if she'll ever forgive him. Before she can answer, she gets a call from Sophie to pick her up. Kyle says that he's got a place to steal, and Lana tells him that he's doing the right thing.
John and Nat go to the repair shop belonging to Clark's friend, and they look around. Nat remembers waking up from hibernation after six months, and Hedy tell her that she found John's suit, but warns that Nat may not survive the trip to it. Nat finds a photo of her family, and says to herself that all she needs his him. She then tells Nat to get her to her dad. In the present, Nat tells John that it's perfect, and they hug.
Clark joins Lois on the couch, and he tells her that John and Nat are happy with their new place. Lois tells her husband about how she's having brunch with Sam and Lucy, and figures they're done with Ally. Clark isn't so sure, and tells Lois that Mitch has the pendant. Jon comes in and says that his first day was gone. Clark tells Jon that he's either at the house or the store. Once Jon goes up to his room, Lois tells Clark that he was harsh with Jon, and shouldn't let it go on too long.
Jordan is in his room playing video games, and Jon comes in and wonders why he's back early. His brother says that he couldn't explain why he was late, and Jon tells him that he's sorry he made Jordan miss his dinner date. Jordan asks why Jon didn't tell him it was Candice, and Jon says that he didn't think it was fair putting it on Jordan after he lied to their parents. He didn't want to shut Jordan out, and Jordan tells him not to.
Sam takes Lucy to her apartment and suggests she come to his place. He wavers and says that he's tired, and realizes that there's something in his tea. He collapses, and Lucy tells him that she was the failsafe in case things didn't go according to plan. As she takes Sam's security badge, she says that she's going to make sure Ally gets to the other side.
