PLEASE!! Enough with Kensi and Deeks soap opera.

This episode was good. AI and cluster drones are worthy to build a plot around. Always fun when they go aboard a Navy ship! I was pleased by (rare) absence of insipid social commentary. This a solid NCIS LA episode. But ... the Kensi / Deeks repartee is so stale. Further, they're both about 40 years old and are clucking like teenagers. Have a baby. Don't have a baby. Better yet, have a baby and move to Toledo. Time for more serious agents.

Episode 1312

Warning: Spoilers
The episode was definitely a lot stronger than we had been getting from NCIS: Los Angeles and it seems like somehow the writers have their finger on the pulse of America as UFOs and the mystery around objects in the air is in the news every time you look these days.

But in typical fashion they have a fun 5-10 minutes to open the episode with, and then it just drags and drags and drags. There was never much of a story here and the podcaster that Kensi and Deeks encountered in the desert was not exactly the barrel of laughs I think the writers thought they would get when they planned that person out.

"Was It A Bird Strike?"

Good episode. Idea similar to NCIS: New Orleans S6 E2 (Conundrum) where "murmuration" was covered. Usually a phenomenon associated with Starlings that fly in formation and is quite dramatic to see, here it is applied to drones. The tension was intense as Fatima gains insight into what is going on and faces the moral dilemma of what to do. So glad to have Roundtree back he is a lovely character. At least they used the term UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) correctly instead of UFO as was used in the New Orleans episode. Another parallel, in the New Orleans episode Special Agent Khouri asks the Navy pilot whether she had a detached retina as a possible explanation for what she saw. Here, Callen asks whether it was a bird strike that took down the F16. Hilarious.

Back to what it should be

Warning: Spoilers
This NCIS LA episode was better than some recent. The right amount of action entertainment with a subject close to the hearts of many like me; i.e., Artificial Intelligence aka AI. Can't speak for everyone, but I am not comfortable with machines capable of learning like all living creatures on our tiny planet. I mean, don't we have enough to worry about?

As for Kenzie and Deeks, I hope they get a kid soon, the melodrama is getting old.

Doing what it says on the tin...

This was a good episode with a bit of a mystery involved...what was causing this...who were they...where did it go....woooooo spoooky...well not really but some nice tension in the camp...with puzzlement all around...however if you watched the similar NCIS New Orleans episode ...you would have guessed what was going on as I did.

Unfortunately they lose One Star for the title which gave a strong hint to the episode plot line.

But it was back to what we love IA etc ...real science and tech...great stuff and a who done it as well...keep up this standard and we will all be grateful.

Oh but less of the Kensi Deeks drama...
